Going to see Dr. Alexander was one of, if not the best doctor experiences I have ever had. He is so kind and understanding. His office works hard to get you quick appointments. After-care seems to be a BIG thing with them (will let you know after surgery :) ) IMHO, that when it comes to dealing with insurance, I am doing most of the work.
I really like Dr. Alexander. He makes you feel like your are his only patient.
He took the time to tell me all about the surgery types. And about the type I will be haveing. He took the time to answer all my questions . The office staff are very friendly and helpful. He addressed all the risks of the surgery. But I have heard from many patients and even hospital staff that he has no patients who have had complications. He has done more than 2000+ Revisions and RNY's with no complications and no Deaths. That is why I chose him.
I Rate him as MOST EXCELLENT.
He has a excellent bedside mannner and surgical competence.
When I first met Dr. Alexander, I was very impressed with his professionalism and sincere desire to assist obese individuals in their journey. My impression of him only got better in the following months. He is a very dedicated, skilled surgeon who is not in it for the money only. He was very patient with me and answered all of my questions.
His staff, at the time (almost 2 years ago) left something to be desired. His dietician was very lacking in substantial assistance. I do not know if she is still there as I have heard that he has hired someone new. His nurses were wonderful and was his receptionist! His insurance staff were not as helpful as I believe they should have been and made numerous mistakes along the way in my case. Again, I do not know if the staff is still the same.
I am completely satisfied with Dr. Alexander and if I had to be pinned down to what I liked least about him would be one of the same things I liked most about him! He takes his time with each and every patient and helps them to make sure this is the proper step for them. In doing so, his schedule was always about two hours behind!
Future patients should know that he is an outstanding surgeon and has pulled individuals through difficult situations that were beyond his control. At the time of my surgery on July 12, 2002, Dr. Alexander had had NO deaths related to this surgery!!!!!
Again, at the time, his aftercare was essentially left up to the patient. This has changed and he now has a support group that meets once a month at RHD hospital.
Dr. Alexander fully explained to me the potential risks of the surgery and did not sugarcoat anything. At the same time, he also discussed other alternatives to the surgery along with the risks of being obese.
I loved Dr. Alexander and would choose him again in a minute! In fact, I had visited several differenct surgeons before I decided on Dr. Alexander. Once I had met him, I knew he was the one who I would have do my surgery...even if my insurance did not cover the procedure! It was Dr. Alexander the whole way.
For me, surgical competence and bedside manner should go hand-in-hand. In my opinion, a competent surgeon also has to have a good bedside manner or the patient will not feel confident and secure. Dr. Alexander has both!
Sorry, but other then the awful wait in his waiting room, I have found no fault with Dr. Alexander himself.
I was very impressed by Dr. Alexander as well as his staff.
My impression has not changed.
The office staff is absolutely WONDERFUL!
The wait time is sometimes long.
I have recommended Dr. Alexander to many people and will continue to do so.
Strongly encourages aftercare.
Yes, very structured.
He went over everything very throughly.
10++
Both are great, but his surgical competence was outstanding!
I had my initial consultation with Dr. Alexander in August of 2003. I found him to be very knowledgable and personable. I thought that he exuded a kind of excitement about the surgery and its possibitilies which was certainly contagious! I was not 100% sure what my decision was going to be until I came out of his office. Then, I knew I had to have it, no matter what! My husband had a bit of a hard time understanding his accent. Dr. Alexander's office staff was great--I can't imagine having to go to work and deal with people like me everyday!! What a pest!! Aftercare is somewhat of an afterthought, however. I do believe there is a support group that meets at or around his office, but it is pretty far from home for me. I was also a little anxious when I asked him about a written diet plan or recommendations for post-op and he replied, "Do not worry, you just eat what you can eat."
Dr. Alexander was extremely personable and sensitive to me as an overweight patient. He answered all me questions before I could even ask them and took his time with me. I would say at least 30 minutes of talking with me prior to my decision. The office staff was exceptional. Ann the insurance part of his affice was on the ball and a big part of my quick approval. Michelle the office manager was just as helpful with the payment part of my surgery. I feel extremely blessed I came accross Dr. Alexander.
My first impression of Dr. Alexander was that he seemed to be a very professional, well educated man. I am impressed with his experience and beleive that he deserves every ounce of success he has acquired. He is a genuine person who seems to care a great deal for his patients. I also beleive that he is a highly skilled surgeon and he has created a way to link other professionals in a close network where everyone is well informed about the surgery process. He has hand picked a family doctor, psychologist, two medical centers, a heart specialist and a respiratory specialist and they all work under a team effort for your benefit. He is not only a highly competent surgeon but he also has an excellent bedside manner. I would have to rate him on a scale of 1 to 10, as a 10!
I liked Dr. Alexander upon meeting him...he was very optimistic and such a calming personality. I feel, based upon my own impressions and researching other patients, very confident in my choice.
The office wait was long-doctor held up at hospital-but it provided me an invaluable opportunity to 'eavesdrop' on other patients' conversations with each other and better educate myself to the process through that.
His staff is friendly and always happy to help.
I am, so far, extremely pleased with the choice of Dr. Alexander.
HE IS THE BEST!!!! If you live in Texas, don't go to anyone but this man! the staff is awsome, they take all the time to answer all your questions and make you feel so comfortable.
The wait is a bit long with the appointments, but I think it is because he doesn't rush you when you are with him. He listens to you and takes the time to give you the answers that you deserve.
Everything is throughly explained to you from beginning to end. They help you with all your paperwork, and anything else. Lord knows that I called twice a week at the least for the first 3 weeks and they listen and are not frustrated at all!
He is so carefull with ALL the tests that you have to do. he looks at everything to make sure that you are safe.
Dr. Alexander and his staff are great!
I can truely say this all positive because so far, I have not recieved any bad treatment or been uphappy with any of the services that he provides.
