While I maintain a weight of 139 pounds, I have been on disability for the past 3 and 1/2 years due to health issues. I would recommend that everyone do extended research before having a gastric bypass. I can not in good faith recommend the surgeon that I used. I have been hospitalized so many times since my surgery for stomach problems, one major surgery last year to repair two hernia's. The pain has been unbearable and my health continues to decline. Would I do it again? I'm afraid the answer would be no. It is hard to live with the fact that I have done this to myself.

I went to Dr. Alexander as a referral from a relative. I was having complications with the Lap band. Dr. Alexander was very helpful, thourgh, and made sure that my needs were met and that I was taken care of and happy. He is a great doctor that I will refer to family friends and co-workers. His staff is very helpful and was able to assist with any questions I needed to be answered. I will rate Dr. Alexander a 10.
My first impression of Dr. Alexander was he reminded me of Robin Williams. LOL Never seen anyone wear scrubs with cowboy boots. His staff was AWESOME!! Ricki was so nice. She made sure my husband and I were very comfortable. She didn't make me feel like I was asking her alot of questions which I was. Then next I spoke with Dee Dee over the phone and she was great also!! Dr. Alexander didn't mention much about after care but he gave us a very detailed informative session about both procedures and revisions(which is what I'm getting). My husband walked into Dr. Alexander's office TOTALLY against RNY's. You couldn't have paid him to get one. At of the end of our consultation my husband made the decision to get a RNY. He also didn't stress too much on the risk of the surgeries which I didn't expect. it would had probally scared us away. He mentioned how with any surgery there were risk. He did speak alot about the benefits of both procedures. Overall I would rate Dr. Alexander as very knowledgeable of WLS. I would recommend him to my family and close friends.

Dr Alexander is the BEST surgeon out there!! He is very unique. He cares so much for his patients and you can see that he enjoys what he does! I didn't have to ask any of my questions he answered them all in the consult. I heard storys about the wait time however, since I have been a patient I have only had to wait once and it was not that long. I feel blessed beyond belief that I was able to find him and had the resourses to use his expertise. I don't believe there will be anything you dislike about him.
NOW all you have to do is schedule the appointment! I will even go with YOU just email me!
My first impression of Dr A. was he has good knowledge, good experience and I was confident with him. I was able to put myself under his care. I was not in control of my care, something that I had never been out of, control of me. His staff was knowledgable and supportive. The thing I liked least was he was not equipped enough. He didn't have a scale that would weigh me and no one took my before picture. At the time I saw Dr. A he did not have or I was not aware that he had an after care program but did refer me to this web site for some information and support. I currently know that Dr A. is totally equipped from pre op to post op now. Way to go Dr A. He was very informative of the risk, or I was knowledgable before seeing him. He was to convence me and he did. He was great as a surgeon and bedside manners. I would recommend Dr A for anyone.
