My first impression was being so shocked at his young age. But he knowledge of the surgery and it's risks but me at ease immediately. I love the surgeons at CORI and Harper Hospital, however the customer service staff at CORI leaves a little to be desired. They were terrible at returning phonecalls and answering questions. Dr.Taylor is a very skilled surgeon. My incisions look amazing. He was very nice and responsive to all my questions. He seems a little shy when it comes to beside manner, but all of us have different personalities. My surgery was uneventful and the Dr. Taylor met with my family right afterwards to update them on my progress. I am pleased that I made the right decision to have him perform my surgery.
I like the sugeon but did not like his assistant Amy Blaze at the Cori Center. She was mean and rude and because of the fact I went over her head and contacted the surgeon directly..now all of a sudden i'm not a candidate for Cori. Suddenly she said i failed the psych Eval. Its a shame because I found another bariatric doctor who knows him well and is surprised about his response to my problem. Don't use the Cori Center. They are misleading. Do you believe you have to answer a 500 question pychological exam in the waiting room right under the T.V. THEY WERE GIVING CNN! I could'nt concentrate. But it was very easy for them to take the$54.00 charge and my medicare informaton. Incredible!!! Dr. Taylor your a great person I'm still going to have this surgery and I'm hoping its done by you. Instead of one of you colleagues. Evelyn Riverarn 6463799963
My first impression of my surgeon Dr. Taylor who will be assisted by Dr. Michaael Woods, was OH my GOD, he is really good looking, then I thought how is he...Dr. Taylor is only 33 years young and he is a surgeon. Well anyway after my cunsultation with him I felt very pleased with his proffessionlism while also keeping real and his laid back attitude. He answered all questions that I had and answered them all, which i did not have to many because he was very thorough with everything upfront. The office staff was & is very friendly. Dr. Taylor emphasizes aftercare very much, which is a wonderful thing. He addressed the risk of surgery very thoroughly. I would rate him overall so far 2 tumbs up...Surgical competence & Bedside manner are both something that I would look for in a Doctor...and so far Dr. Taylor does have Surgical Competence...stay tuned on bedside manners.
I was very impressed with Dr. Taylor...he is very personable. So far, it hasn't changed. I only had the surgery on 7/31/06. The staff is very caring and helpful. The thing I like least is not really about him but the time he has to see patients. He stresses the importance of keeping the aftercare appointments. Yes, he has me see him at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and then once a year after. The risks were explained at the seminar that I attended. I rate him excellent! Both the surgical competence and bedside manner are great.
When I first met with Dr. Taylor, during a consult, I was stunned at how young he looked. Despite his age, he has many surgeries under his belt so that made me feel better. I also liked the fact that he refused to opperate on me if I was smoking. If heard from other people that their surgeon didn't care if they were smoking or not.
The Cori Center in Warren, Michigan is where he is located. Along with Dr. Taylor, I had my psychological consult with Dr. Altier. A lot of people don't like him and don't like what he has to say. Me on the other hand, I liked him. He was honest and right to the point. He told me I need to be on anti-depressant's at least four weeks prior to surgery. I think I could really dig talking with him on a regular basis.
At first I thought he seemed a bit abrupt. When I met with him for my surgical consult he was much more friendly and happily answered my questions. Office staff at the Warren office are wonderful and on top of the game. Patient care cordinators at CORI seemed confused about information many times.
If I could recommend anything to Dr. Taylor it would be to be more patient/family friendly. He was a man of few words when doing rounds in post-op and updating my family.
Dr. Taylor explained the risks very well and the aftercare program is fairly extensive,
Overall, I think Dr. Taylor is a wonderfully skilled surgeon whom I would recommend to anyone thinking of surgery.
It would be wonderful if all doctors agreed that surgical competence and bedside manner are both important as patients face such a life-changing and sometimes frightening procedure.
These are my impressions of Dr. Taylor based on my experience with him so far.
