My first impression of Dr Taylor is wow he is young. I sat thou my consult and realized that his age really had no impact on how I felt comfortable with him. rnI knew he was the Dr for me just by how he talked to me. He talked to me like I was not only a patient to him but that he really cared how I did with this surgery and that I understood the risks involved. He seem to listen to me and when he saw the research I had brought with me, he was not offended that I had researched him also.rnrnI had complete faith in Dr Taylor and was so impressed with him and his staff. My surgery went well and even with a minor issue that needed to be resolved I never felt rushed with him or staff and he made me feel welcome to stay in the hospital till I felt ready to leave.rnrnThis is one A+ DrrnrnBarix Hospital btw. The very best in patient care.Very Impressed with all the services they offered.
My first impression of Dr. Taylor was that he was very smart and knew his stuff in Bariatrics. He gave a very good presentation at the orientation and he was informative and able to answer the questions. I came to him because I knew two other persons who were his patients. The office staff was very nice to me. They were available when I called and they got the paper done with little delays. Dr. Taylor and Dr. Wood work as a team. They are highly adept at Bariatrics, take it seriously, have excellent bedside manner and are very caring about any patient concerns. The program at ABMI is nicely structured. They have a nice support group. Overall, based on my personnel outcomes, Dr. Taylor and Wood get an \"A\" for surgical competence. I would rate Dr. Taylor as very good choice for bariatric surgery. I healed well and did great with the surgery overall. I had a few minor complications with fever and blood pressure in the hospital but He and Dr. Wood stayed on top of it and kept me in the hospital a couple of days extra, for treatment and to make sure I was A-okay. There is nothing negative for me because I did my homework before choosing Dr. Taylor, I choose him because I expected nothing but the best. Always research your doctor and find other patients who can give you a true testimony before jumping into anything.
Dr. Taylor is very professional and courteous, He is very knowledgeable in his field. Colleague, Dr. Wood is also excellent! They made a DYNAMIC team and I consider them to be experts in the field of Bariatrics, Dr. Wood has even perfected his own procedure. rnrnWith ABMI you can't go wrong, Dr. Taylor is smart, confident, and caring. He informs you of all the risks and assures you that he will take care of you through the whole procedure, I had slight complications but Dr. Taylor and Dr. Wood made sure that all was done to make sure I would be ok.
I was very pleased with Dr. Taylor and his staff. Dr. Taylor is very information, but not extremely outgoing. He is patient and will answer questions. rnrnHis nutritionist is also patient, but adheres to a basic nutrition outline that is not the best diet for postops. I take in far more protein grams than she recommends and restrict more carb grams. This is what is successful for me and thousands of other long-term postops... postops who've reached goal and kept it off for years.rnrnI think there should be better follow-up the weeks before surgery, as I learned most of what I needed to do from a comprehensive binder we were given at our orientation. I think it would have been wise to not assume all preops will read every page of the book. I should have received a call to remind me when to go on liquids before the surgery and also when to take the bowel prep. rnrnMost (perhaps all) his patients are required to have a Greenfield IVC filter installed prior to surgery. This is a filter to prevent blood clots. I was also required to take Lovenox (blood-thinner) shots for 2 weeks after surgery. This shots were prepackaged and easy to give myself in the abdomen. rnrnOther than scheduled office visits, there isn't much aftercare. There are two support groups a month at their office in Warren, MI on Ryan Rd. rnrnThe risks of surgery were thoroughly explained during my orientation. Lap-band and RNY were both discussed. rnrnDr. Taylor is an extremely competent surgeon and very thorough. He was quick to identify a hernia 2 days after surgery and prevented a potential disaster by operating on it so quickly. In addition, he also quickly identified I had a stricture 1.5 months later. I'm confident in his knowledge and intuition. rnrnDr. Taylor is very pleasant but not very talkative, outgoing. His bedside manner could be a little more outgoing, but otherwise I had no complaints.rnrnDr. Taylor's associate Dr. Wood (the senior partner in their bariatric clinic) is much more outgoing and sympathetic. He visited me in the hospital. I've heard many good things about him, also.rnrnBoth doctors work out of their Warren office. The website is www.myabmi.com.
I had already done my research on Drs Taylor and Wood for a year, including talking with some of their patients. When I found out that Dr. Taylor was going to be my surgeon I was a little skeptical but felt better when I was told that Dr. Wood would be assisting him in surgery. rnWhen I had my consultation with Dr. Taylor, all of my doubts (and some fears) went out of the window! Don't be fooled by his age, he is a very intelligent and compassionate young man who was/is very attentive to my concerns and my success. He told me the pros and cons of the surgery and to make sure that I take the procedure seriously because it's life changing.rnHis staff is very helpful and friendly. rnI'm glad I've made my decision and I'm even more glad that Dr. Taylor will be performing the surgery.rn
