I am 67 years old , until an industrial accident in 1989 I did not have a problem with my weight . After my accident I went rn( in a 5 years period ) from 185 pounds to well over 300 pounds . I had tried every type of diet plan , pill etc all without permanant success . In August of 2006 I attended one of Dr Ross,s seminars ( after wasting 4 months of seminars on a surgeon in Greenville who was not certified by Medicare ) Dr Ross agreed to fast track me for bariatic surgery which he performed on Sept 6th 2006.rn The surgery was successful in all aspects , Dr has has given me a new lease on life. I weighed 366 pounds on the date of surgery and , as of today I am at 238 pounds which is about 80 % of my goal weight of 185 pounds.rn Dr ross and his staff are supportive in all aspects , both pre and post surgical and I can find no fault in any aspect of his program except that he is far too modest . Dr Ross is a remarkable , talented person and I literally owe my life to him.rn William Bardenrn Travelers Rest , South Carolina
I think the one thing that really stood out to me about Dr. Ross is that he is a good christian man and when I asked him about the patients he has lost he became very emotional about his answers and I think that I couldn't help but feel for him because he felt for his patience and I want someone who cares and doesn't just look at their patients as dollar signs. I have not had my personal appointment yet but will update then. I met with Norma at the office so far and she seemed quiet at first and I am always one of those people that think the worst when noone is saying nothing and I told her I was feeling like she was a cop at my car window I was so nervous. But she reassured me and answered all my questions I felt so much better.
Dr. Ross is very warm and caring. He is open and honest about the fact that the surgery is a tool. He emphasizes that your succuess and failure is your responsibility. He was kind and attentive to my questions pre-op and perioperative and of course post op. His staff is very upbeat. Post-Op I had some concerns/questions the office RNs returned my calls quickly.
My first impression of Dr. Ross was that he was a very nice Dr. and he manners were impeckable. And to this day that has not changed he is still the most caring doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Dr. Ross performed my surgery on Dec. 4 2006 and I have had a few problems but not with the surgery he performed but with the exit hole closing up once and an ulcer but he fixed it and I started doing better for a little while but now I have to go have another EGD but just to be clear it is NOT Dr. Ross's fault by any means this is something my body is doing and I feel extremly comfortable in my surgeon and his abilities. So I have no worries that this will pass in due time just as he has told me it would. As far as his office staff goes I can't figure out where he has found people like that, I have never felt more assurred in the abilities of a doctors staff than I have with his office personal. Angie Smith is so nice that you can tell she does really care about your health and how well you are doing before and after the surgery and is always has a positive attitude(which makes me sick sometimes (hahaha)). Now for Tasha she has to be the best nurse that has ever been involved with any of my health care, She shows so much professionalism in her work that it makes it so easy to talk to her about anything envolved with my surgery. The rest of the office staff is the same way that you can tell that they all care about your well being and the success in your WLS. But the ONE THING that I like about Dr. Ross and his staff is that they are all CHRISTIANS and show it in all they do. If someone was to ask me for a referal they would get the best one I could ever give this Dr. and his staff are the BEST THIS STATE HAS TO OFFER AND I DOUBT ANYONE COULD EVER TOUCH THEM when it comes to patient care and complete bed side manner. If you or anyone is concidering WLS Dr. Ross is your best bet he is as good as money in the bank. I know I keep going on about him but I feel as if GOD put us together to prolong my life and to be here for my wife and kids and I thank GOD for putting us together. with a rating scale of (1 - 10)Dr. Ross is a 10++++++ they don't make a scale high enough for him and his staff.
HE IS A VERY KNOWLEGABLE SURGEON, SEEM AS THOUGH HE WOULD HELP YOU IN ANY WAY THAT HE CAN TO HELP YOU LOOSE WEIGHT. I'm very excited that I found Dr. Ross, I'm working on getting the paper work together and getting an appointment to get the surgery scheduled. I see alot of my friends who have had the surgery and this is bad to say...but I feel jelous that they look so good and hoping that I will look the same.
Dr. Ross is a wonderful man, he has extreme talent. The office staff there is very friendly and know their bussiness. He believes in you and what he is doing and it shows all of his patients I have met have been so friendly and sharing. If I could rate Dr. Ross I would give him a 10 on a 1- 10 scale! Thanks Dr. Ross!
As soon as I met Dr. Ross, I knew that he was the surgeon for me. I realized rather quickly that he is a God fearing (respect) man. He isn't boastful or pushy about his love for the Lord. It is just very evident in his life. rnrnHe was very thorough at the information clinic but most of all you could tell that he really cares about each and every one of his patients. When I met with him one on one, he took as much time as I needed to answer my questions. rnHis office staff are just great. They, too, show you that they care and are glad that they can help you.rnFuture patients should know that he was a vascular surgeon before he started doing weight loss surgery. He said that he had operated on many obese patients because of problems from being obese so he decided to do weight loss surgery because he wanted to help the obese people to have a better life. I believe that is his ministry.rnFrom what I hear, he does have a very structured aftercare program which he emphasizes a lot. I know that he told me that he would be my doctor for the rest of my life.rnHe spent a lot of time explaining the risks of surgery at the clinic as well as at our one on one meeting.rnI would rate him on a scale of 1-10 as an 11 and I haven't even had the surgery yet.rnJust from what I have seen so far, I would say that his surgical competence and his bedside manner are both great.rnSo far, I have nothing negative to say.rnI thank the Lord that He has allowed me to be one of Dr. Ross' patients.
