As far as the office staff they were all great. I felt very comfortable when I got to the office. Shirley is such a great person and very down to earth with everything. She made me feel like I have been going to Dr. Slotmans office for years.rn rnWhen I was taken in to the back and spoke with Betty she was wonderful to talk to. Betty set me up in a little room in the back to watch a video and then took me into a regular room. I had so many different questions that I asked her and she was able to answer all of them. Betty also informed me on a lot of stuff that I would have to do while preparing for surgery and also what I would have to do after surgery. rnrnAfter I went over everything with Betty then Dr. Slotman came in to talk to me and go over a lot of information. He examined me and then talked to me about what doctors and tests I would need to have done. He told me that after all of that was done then I would be able to come back and see him for the second time and that he would go over the rest of what I need to know for surgery. I felt very comfortable talking to Dr. Slotman as if I had been a patient for years. I feel that he is very down to earth as well as a very good doctor. I liked the fact that he did not rush me or rush to leave the room after my exam. Dr. Slotman told me right then and there that I did qualify for gastric bypass which believe me I was very happy about. rnrnI would recommend Dr. Slotman to everyone who is looking into going for gastric bypass. I feel very confident in him and in his staff. i met with Dr. slotman a while ago i remember him being a str8 forward nice guy. he told it how it is made me laugh a few times i have faith in him he wants to dot every i and cross every t which i like he didnt rush me and i cant wait to have surgery on june 2nd 2006. i also met with him again on the 16th of may and i have to say once again he was very helpful and answered any of my questions.. i have faith in his skills and him as i stated before.. he is a great guy!!
Dr. Slotman is a wonderful surgeon. The doctors and nurses at the hospital raved about how well he does this proceedure and I agree. I highly recommend him to anyone considering this surgery.
I think Dr. Slotman is the best. The only problem I have is the waiting when you have an appointment. But overall, he is a very good dr. I had no problems with my surgery and no problems during or after surgery. He is just the best!!
I called for an appointment on 8/1/02 and was given a 12/19/02 consultation appointment. At first he was very professional but became more personaable as the consultation progressed I found Dr. Slotman to be very knowledgeable, confident and reassuring. He answered every question and did not rush through the session. He made sure I understood that the surgery is a tool to aid in weight loss. His confidence in his surgical skills and love for his trade was powerful. He would not accept a decision to have the surgery in the first session. He insisted that I think about it for at least 24 hours before calling the office with a decision. I appreciated that gesture because there was no pressure. The decision was all mine. His office staff was most helpful and accommodating. Shirley took care of all my paperwork and interacted with the insurance company. I didn't have to do anything. He encourages patients to participate in the aftercare program and to keep appoints with the nutritionist. Dr. Slotman is very attentive to your needs.
Ok Im writing this a little late since my consult with Dr. Slotman was back on May 19th 2005, however I just want to say, I felt so comfortable with him. I had to wait about 2 months for the appointment, which I wasn't happy with, but it was definetely worth the wait. I had seen one Doctor in Orange, NJ (one of the few my insurance allows), and he was AWFUL..Dr. Slotman was extremely thorough..The video he shows is very informative and covers all that I needed to know, and any other concerns I had, I discussed with him. Another thing I like about him is the fact that he absolutely positively requires that ALL testing is done before he will even consider someone getting surgery. That really puts me at ease because I'd rather have someone that checks over every little detail than someone who takes the shortcut and winds up regretting it later. All in all, Dr Slotman is A+!!!!!!!!

The best ther is . A no nosence, dedicated, caring, supportive and brilliant surgeon. Great staff. Never changes. Speaks the truth. Surgical competence over bedside manner. Bedside manner not his long suit. More than makes up for it.
my first impression of Dr slotman was awesome, he seemed really knowledgable and knew how to tell you everything and keep it interesting and not scare/bore/make ya wanna have another surgeon. He was very bold and upfront, didnt pull any punches and he laid it all out on the table :D i was very happy with the way he was on the day or surgery and in all my pre op visits. I havent had my post of visit yet but im sure he'll be his old joking self :D
he was a lil short after surgery, he never really stayed that long to talk with you after surgery bt he did answer all the questions ou had or he knew who to send to ya to answer all your questions
