My first impression of Dr. Elias was wonderful he answered all my questions gave me the good and bad about the surgery and was honest with what you have to do and he wants you to follow exactly what he says no questions asked. The staff is nice too got things done quick with the insurance and all the paper work done. Over all i would recommend Dr. Elias to anyone.
My consult with Dr Elias was back in July. I had to schedule my surgery in the beginning of January to get time off work. Dr Elias was awesome! He was very kind and very informative at the same time. He didn't mind spending time answering questions that I am sure he has answered several hundred times in the past. In the consult, we did not do much time discussing the aftercare...I am guessing we will go over that more after the surgery. My brother in law and two of his sisters have had the surgery with a different doctor and they have all been very helpful with all the questions I have had. I am looking forward to the surgery and have found great support with another person who recently had the surgery with Dr. Elias.
I first met Dr. Farid Elias in 1982 when I was referred to him by my then family doctor and he operated on my right thumb. At that time I saw many obese women in his office. In years to come he saved my best friends life with an operation and I knew then he was a great surgeon. At that time I did not need gastric bypass, but as years went by and I was gaining weight due to Diabetes, Hypertension, High Cholestrol,Insulin, Triglycerides, and various medical problems I knew he was the right person to see. My PC sent me to him. He is a great Sean Connery (look a like)too. But most importantly he is an expert in his field for obesity. He treats the overweight person with kindness and respect that no other Dr. would. Other Drs. would tell a person they are to large for surgery. I've even told him that. He has an extremely friendly manner with his patients. He is strict with his orders about breathing and moving and following directions after surgery but it is so well worth it. You will heal much faster and feel great in no time if you only listen and he also praises you so you feel good about yourself. He is also very dedicated to helping all along the way. He has a support group every month and he's there to answer any and all questions no matter what they are. He always says there are no stupid questions even if you think it is. He also does surgery on the excess skin if you want it later after you get to the weight you want to be. He's extremely dedicated and has been traveling to other states showing them the procedure and teaching them. Dr. Elias pulls no punches. He is a wonderful doctor and I would recommend him to anyone. If you think you're going to have this surgery and then sit around, you're mistaken. He doesn't believe in feeling sorry for yourself. It's just the attitude I need.
I had only heard wonderful things about Dr. Elias prior to meeting with him. Outside of his qualifications, this is one reason why I chose to see him. He is very friendly and approachable. He is thorough with all medical aspects of the surgery and its risks. I attended his patient forum. He hosts this forum to answer any questions and enable his patients to lend each other support. Also, his staff is wonderful and very friendly. Two thumbs up! *smile*
Dr Elias was able to answer all my questions. He was very concern about my blood pressure. It was very high and he told me to go see my PCP right now. I did and now I am on medication.
He explained the the risk and the surgery.
The office staff have been very helpful.
all people should know that he treats each individual different.

When I first met with Dr. Elias he was very knowledgeable about the type of surgery he does.. We focused alot on the procedure itsself as well as the important after that is needed.. He answered all of my questions I had written down before I went in for the consultation.. He even drew a picture of the actual surgery itself explaining each step.. His staff was very nice and helpful..
My first impression of Dr. Elias was wonderful, he did a very good job of explaining the weight loss surgery and the whole process. He has been doing the surgery for I believe 20 years and lap for 3 yrs. so I trust him with my life. His staff is wonderful and they are very easy to get a hold of, if you need anything they would probably bend over backwards for ya. He is very strict on aftercare and they schedule your appointments for ya so then they know you will be there. Overall I think he is a wonderful doctor and would recommend him to anyone.
My first impression of dr. elias was that he is a good looking foreigner, didn't ask where he is from. He speaks very good english. We sat down and discussed the procedure and possible side effects, the good & the bad. The patient must be within the bmi requirements. On paper he showed me a diagram where & how the surgery was performed. The office was full of various people. My visit was so quick i did not talk to the other patients. The two ladies on staff discussed the insurance procedures and gave me a list of testing to be done. before your visit, if you think of questions, write them down and take them with you on your visit. We did not discuss much on aftercare.
