I have only met with Dr. Jacobs once and it couldnt havea been a more positive experience. I had been warned that surgeons are often "cold" or have poor people skills. He was very friendly and personable, he explained the procedure very clearly and calmed a lot of the concerns I had been having. His staff has been very helpful and always avalible to answer any questions I have had. He stresses that this is a lifestyle change and not a quick fix. Dr. Jacobs was open and very forth coming about the possible risks and/or side affects of the surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering having this sugery.
He was very Friendly and helpful ! Seems very sincere made me feel comfortable that I was getting the best ! Becky and the rest of his staff were very helpful
Dr. Jacobs and Becky his nurse were wonderful. Dr. Jacobs was respectful and extremely knowledgable about gastric bypass surgery. Becky was quite helpful when dealing with the appeals for the surgery. I have had nothing but postive things to say about Dr. Jacobs and his staff. I feel very confident about having Dr. Jacob perform this surgery!
During my consult, I was feeling very ill, with what turned out to be pneumonia. Dr. Jacobs explained in full detail everything that I should be aware of with regards to what I could expect. This included a full and complete explanation of the RNY procedure, as well as the fact that we are all human, and going into this, knowing that at sometime, I would probably cheat as many others have before me; However, Dr, Jacobs was very informative regarding the fact that he beleived that I would succeed, and live a longer healthier life because of my choice to complete RNY. Dr. Jacobs was the first Doc I have ever seen that I felt did not have one hand on the door knob waiting to leave as he was consulting with me. He took his time, and made sure all of my questions were answered.
Just had my first meeting with Dr. Hartly. He is a very nice man. Hope to meet with the surgeon next month.
Excellent surgeon. He was very kind, respectful and knowledgable. He made me feel very confident about his staff and procedure before being rolled into surgery.
I would highly recommend him.
His office staff is absolutely great! Becky, she follows up, completes the many, many insurance forms, leave of absence sheets, etc. on a very timely basis. She also is great about telling you what to expect before, during and after the surgery.
Interns:
The hospital where I had surgery is a teaching hospital. This made me nervous but again, like the rest of his staff, the interns were very interested in making sure the patient was taken care of.
My first impression of Dr. Jacobs was very good. He made me feel very comfortable and answered many of my questions I had written down before I could ask them. His nurse, Becky was also very friendly and returned all of my calls promptly. Dr. Jacobs explained the surgery in terms that I could understand. However, to be honest, I am going to make another appointment with him before my surgery to ask more questions. I have found that I would like more questions answered due to the information I've read on this site and another very good site. I am looking forward to new experiences and my trust is in GOD and I know that he will guide the hands of my doctor.
My first impression of Dr. Jacobs was that he really cares about his patients and wants to see them suceed. He made me feel very comfortable and answered all of my questions. His staff is also wonderful. His assistant Becky is the greatest! She answered all of the questions I had no matter how annoying or stupid I was!! :-)
The only this I feel that Dr. Jacobs could improve on is his follow up care. Fortunately, there are many programs and groups out there that you're not without any post op support.
Dr. Jacobs was personable, and my consultation with him was very informative. He took time to answer all of my questions, and made sure that I understood the full implications of surgery. His assistant, Becky, has been very friendly, helpful, and patient.
I waited 5 months for a consultation appointment with Dr. Jacobs, but my surgery was approved within 5 days after my appointment. I will wait 2-1/2 months for my surgery date.
