I want to say KUDOS to the whole team. My surgery was done on 3/20/2012. I reported to the Hospital at 10:30 am and I was so nervous however I was put at ease. This has been a long journey and I finally reach my destination . However my real journey is just begining and now I have something to write about. Also , I was so happy to see Barbara on the unit because it was a familiar face when I feeling a little down. Then I was please to that Dr David von Rueden came in to follow -up post op .

This is the best doctor ever. He made me feel very comfortable from the first time I met him. He was straight forward and gave me all the answers I needed and helped me in so many different ways. His staff is wonderful and you definitely feel like you are a member of their family!

I had weight loss surgery on 2/8/2011. Dr. Von Rueden is the best. At the day of surgery, everyone was at their place, ready to go. He runs a well oiled machine and he did an excellent job. 2 hours later, I was walking around, next day, I went home, By Friday, I felt like i could go back to work- no narcotics (by choice) I take tylenol for pain and all my bodily functions are operating just fine. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Von Rueden. I just love him. He gave me a tool to fight obesity forever. I had the Gastric Sleeve done. Surgery is always scary but if you have a doctor like Dr. Von Rueden, you should not be afraid at all. He puts you through intense work ups from many doctors and he know what he is doing. Afterwards, he came to my hospital room and he was generally concerned about me. Not too many doctors take that kind of time for their patients. I told my family that it was because I was his favorite patient but actually he just cares. I know when writing a review that you are suppose to say a weak point that the doctor has but I do not have one negative thing to say about him or his staff. He has an RN, Barbie that works at his office, OMG- she coached me all the way and made me feel so comfortable about every step of the way. I just love her. She definately has the perfect attitude for this type of surgery. When I got scared, she knew exactly what to say to me. I am happy with my sleeve, I am getting acquainted with it like a new baby. It likes me because I do what they have told me. If it isn't in the book, it doesn't go into my mouth. I wish you success with selecting your doctor but he is the best. Jacqueline Kauffman

Dr. Von Rueden Is A Wonderful Doctor!

Dr. Von Rueden is a quiet intellectual man. He was able to answer any question I threw at him. I saw him once out of the office in an everyday setting, he still was the same. When I think of him the word that comes to mind is meek. you know he's inteeligent but he doesn't throw it in your face. Dr. Von Rueden is a caring and concerned individual. Thye office staff is great, I love his insurance specialist(i think that's her title) Rose. the entire staff is really great.

My first impression of Dr. Von Rueden was that he was a quiet yet extreamly intelligent man. As I got to see more of him I knew that I was in good hands. He and his staff are wonderful. They all work as a team with your health has their main priority. They explain and answer every question that I could throw at them. I know that if I have an issue I can call and it will be taken care of. With just having my surgery a week ago (and it went perfectly) my after care is going to go just as well. I put my true faith and trust in Doctor Von Rueden and his team. His surgical competence and bedside manner were outstanding. Thanks so much to him and his team and Saint Agnus hospital.

I found him caring and a good listener. His office staff was very freindly and very organized. They followed up on everything. They have a very good after care in place. The program is very carefully monitored. I have found everyone very helpful. One thing I like is I feel every time I called with a question I got a person not a machine message all the time. I feel surgical competence and bedside manner are equally important. I highly reccomend my surgeon.

My first impression was that Dr. Von Rueden is a quiet man but very knowledgable and he gave me hope. He seems to be a man who weighs his words before speaking them and I actually prefer that. I did not feel like I was being rushed out of the office. His office is very professional and they work together as a \"team\". I honestly don't dislike anything about him but I haven't had surgery yet. I will update later. He has a very in depth program and you must agree, among other things to go to his support group at least every other month for the first year.

My first impression of Dr. Von Rueden was that he was very compassionate about what he does. He is committed to informing every potential patient of what should be expected. He was very clear about each procedure and helpful determining which surgery was the right one for me. His office staff is equally as compassionate with the patients. They take the time no matter how long it takes to make sure that all t's are crossed and i's are dotted.rnAnyone who is thinking about WLS should give him a try. Go to one of his meetings and see for yourself what he is like. He is very direct and no nonsense. In addition to the 6 month pre surgery steps I had to take Dr Von Rueden made it clear that the follow up year was as important as the pre surgery steps. Not only important but necessary for success with his program. He and his staff have made it very clear that WLS is a tool for losing weight. You have to be commit to the life change.rnMy experience so far has been exceptional. I am still waiting for approval for my surgery and will update this once I have had the procedure. If he works in the OR the way he does in his office I am sure it will be precise and right on the money.

I had been to 2 information sessions prior to attending Dr. von Rueden's session. He is the only one that made me feel like he wanted you to truly understand exactly what this surgery was all about. He gave details that the other surgeons just glossed over. And since I had researched alot before attending his session, I had many questions prepared to ask when I walked through the door but left having all my questions and concerns addressed during his presentation. rnrnThe staff is great!!!! Unlike most doctors offices, they actually do everything they can to assist you in this process. If something was to be faxed and it wasnt in the chart they dont just say \"we dont have it\" their attitude is we can get it or find out why we don't. This process has been flawless!
