Met him on my appt of 03Nov2006. A very nice man, with a very no-nonsense attitude. I like him, and his secretary Tracey is great. What a little dynamo!rnrnNow that I have had the surgery, I would like to add a little to my previous comments. rnDr. Starr is Fantastic, sure , I had some complications, but, I don't believe it had anything to do with what he did. He was always there for me, checking on me and reassuring me, even when I thought I couldn't make another day. He just has such a way about him. So calming, so reassuring! I would certainly recommend him to anyone who asked. He was a godsend for me, and I am sure he will be for anyone else he helps!!rnGod Bless him,rnMarilyn
I have really liked Dr. Starr so far, he has been friendly and funny, but made me realize all of the risks and benefits of the surgery. rnThrough this whole process the saving grace for me has been Tracy in Dr. Starr's office, she remembers me every time I call and is always willing to help out as much as humanly possible.rnI also like how Dr.Starr has emphasised me losng wiehgt before the surgery to make it go as smoothly as possible, it has forced me to eat smaller portions and get into an exercise routine.
Dr. Starr is an amazing person. He is very straight forward and answers all the questions thoroughly. He is also very strict about losing weight before the surgery. rnrnTracey, his assistant, is also very good. She is very compassionate and a great personality.rnrnThe whole team works great together and I am very happy that I have them for my WLS.rnrnSam.
Dr. Starr is a very busy man. His office was crowded and you had to wait to find a seat. He was frank and informative. I believe he was rushed that day and spoke to me only about the surgery. He informed of the steps and risks. His staff provided papers with my steps and re-explained again the risks. My impression is based however on one visit on a very busy day. Dr. Starr seems very dedicated and serious towards his profession.
So far so good! Dr Starr is very nice with a good sense of humour too. He made me feel at ease in his office and I am looking forward to our next meeting. rnrnOnce again, Dr Starr was pleasant and I felt comfortable talking to him. He has a very nice demeanor and takes the time to make a little joke every once in a while. I was four pounds higher than the last time I was weighed but he didn't make a big deal about it; he just made me promise to be on \"the losing side\" at our next meeting and I won't let him down!
Wow!rnMy first impression of Dr Starr was rncompleate ease!rnHe is such a nice guy. Very easy to speak with.rnDr Starr was very clear about what the risks are. That's crazy!!! 1 in 200?!?!rnI'm glad he was so blunt.rnTracy was a blast! Very funny and helpful!rnThe waiting room was packed!rnDr Starr is a very popular guy. There wasnt anywhere to sit when I walked out from speaking with him! Glad I was all done!LOLrnI spoke with a couple people in the waiting room. They said nothing but nice things about Dr Starr. rnHe really is an overall really nice guy!
Dr. Starr is a wonderful doctor. He has been very straightforward with me. He let me know that I was at the verge of being cancelled as my BMI is borderline and the risks of surgery vs obesity. Although this is true he also says that I will be a great candidate for the surgery and will have great success!! YAY!! Nice to hear that! He is very proud to tell about the additional funding for Humber River for Bariatrics. Hopefully this will increase the number of patients who need help here in Ontario!rnrnI was a little upset that I didn't see him for 2 days after surgery while I was having complications. I know it was his day off, but.......
Dr Starr was very empathetic toward his patients. His staff was friendly and quick about getting you any info.I couldn't find anything to dislike about him.
My First Consult with Dr. Starr was a little quick as he was called away to an emergency... but my overall meeting with him was great. He explained everything and I had no doubts left in my mind after the appointment. He pretty much answered all my questions before I was going to ask them...LOL... His office staff is AWESOME.. you couldn't ask for better. I had my surgery on May 11th of 2006 and I couldn't ask for a better surgeon.... everything went smooth.. would do it all over again in a heartbeat...
