I had my sleeve performed on September 23, 2014 by Dr. D Rohrer. I travelled from Alberta, Canada for the surgery. Dr. Rohrer is a great surgeon, eased all my fears, has a great bedside manner. I'm down 43lbs as of today.

Dr. Rohrer did my bariatric bypass surgery on June 11/2012. Dr. Rohrer did a nice job with the surgery and the hospital staff were extremely compassionate and supportive. Dr. Rohrer's office staff have always been sweet and kind.

In May of 2014, I reached Dr. Rohrer’s goal weight for me which was 150 pounds, with the option of losing 10 to 15 more. My family physician here in Kalispell, feels my weight now of 148 is a good weight for my age and size.

Before my surgery, I weighed 318 lbs. and had lost down to 269 then became stuck at that weight. When my husband needed a bone marrow transplant, I knew in order to be his caretaker the weight needed to come off and I came to Dr. Rohrer for help.

About 10 days after my surgery, I developed an abscess and was taken to Great Falls from Kalispell by ambulance. The abscess was a complication from the surgery and was nothing that Dr. Rohrer did or caused.

When I got home my family doctor took over my aftercare, conferring with Dr. Rohrer when needed. This helped a lot, because of the distance from Kalispell to Great Falls.

I have no negative comment about Dr. Rohrer or his staff and they have been a blessing to me. Because of their help, my weight is to its goal weight, there is no more diabetes, no more high blood pressure and no more high cholesterol!

A year ago last July I had a knee revision, done on a knee replacement. Last March, because of bad teeth a strep infection entered the knee and I collapsed to the floor. When reaching the hospital, because of the collapse my femur bone broke just above the knee. The next day I was in surgery where some parts of the knee replacement were replaced and my knee was irrigated to rinse out the strep infection as much as possible. I spent six weeks in a nursing home receiving I.V. antibiotics, physical therapy and had all of my teeth removed in the hospital.

After three weeks at home the strep infection came back. So my knee replacement was removed and a spacer put into the knee. I spent another six weeks again having more I.V. antibiotics and physical therapy. So far the strep infection has not come back. There is a possibility I could lose my leg above my knee. My husband and I have talked a lot about all that has happened and we both agree that I would not have lived through this without my weight loss. As far as we are concerned, Dr. Rohrer, his office staff and the nutritionists all played a part in saving my life.

May God Bless You All,
Merriam Burke

I had lap band surgery March of 2008.. and at that time he gave me excellent care. About three years later I began to have issues. I called and spoke to the nurses and was told since I couldn't pay my $100 copay for the visit out of pocket I couldn't be seen because of a prior issue with my account and insurance issues. I'd been throwing up non-stop and couldn't keep anything down. This continued for several months before it stopped. In 2013 after finding a doctor that would listen (Walter Medlin, amazing!!) I had to have the band removed as it had slipped and eroded all the way into my stomach causing me to have to have a partial gastrectomy. Had they just seen me when the band originally slipped I wouldn't currently have a feeding tube due to the adhesion's and scar tissue from the band erosion. This office is all for the money not the people.

Hello Dr. Rohrer did my Gastric Sleeve surgery in June of 2013 and ended up having a couple of infections and going back to Great Falls to the hospital for a week at a time. But during all this Dr. Rohrer was very attentive and very helpful and also very caring. If i was to refer anyone for this surgery i would refer them to Dr. Rohrer.

The only complaint I have is that he is 200 miles away. Dr. Rohrer was very precise and helpful. Knowledgable and kind.

I was 415 pds and 57 years of age and knew I needed help if I wanted to enjoy my later years. I met with Dr David Rohrer in September of 2012 to discus the different types of surgery for weight loss. Dr. Rohrer immediately made me feel at ease. He spent considerable time with me explaining the different types of surgery available and what the risks were. He also let me know that I could decide which type I wanted, then he would talk it over with me to see if I was a good candidate for that type of surgery. He also gave me a thick folder which all the options spelled out in it. He said I could take this all home and when I had made a decision, to contact his office for an appointment. There was no pressure to make a quick decision at all! He directed me to his assistant and dietician who was giving a mini school talk on the surgery's and the pre-surgery diet. It was very informative.

I received Lap Band surgery on Nov 5, 2012. I was very nervous waiting in the hospital to the point I nearly bolted for the door! I even discussed it with the friend I had brought with me for moral support! But just when I thought I would run, the nurse came out and got me. Dr Rohrer met me as I was coming in to the prep room and immediately put me at ease. The whole staff was cheerful and professional and that really helped.

Next thing I know I'm waking up from surgery. I am in no pain at all which was very surprising. I at first thought that for some reason they hadn't gone through with it. Put upon closer examination I could feel the incisions. I never felt any pain at all and now a week later, I still feel no pain. For me, I have also felt no nausea and have not vomited. And I have lost an additional 12 pds since surgery making it a total of 42 pds in just 36 days including pre-surgery diet!

I highly recommend Dr Rohrer and his staff and the staff and nurses on the 7th floor of Benifis Hospital, Great Falls, Montana for your weight loss surgery. I may not be typical, but I am loving it!

My surgery was performed on February 9, 2009 by Dr. Rohrer. My body is carrying 100+ less pounds. Dr. Rohrer gave me my life back and I feel like a completely new person. The most important thing I remember was realizing my footsteps and going forward was up to me. Easier said than done- when you want to hang onto old habits and thought pattern's.

My blood levels are 100% better. I will be able to stop one of my diabetes pills, and my Triglycerides are within normal range, and I never thought that would be possible.

There is 1 thing I would do differently, keep better contact with Dr. Rohrer, Lisa, and other staff at the Bariatric Institute in Great Falls.

Next thing would be to help other's more by sharing my experiences.

Dr. Rohrer was great! He took time to explain everything about the LapBand, had a LapBand to show how it works and all of the risks/benefits involved. His staff is the most helful people, loaded with knowledge and ready to help with ANY type of question.

I would have liked to have more instruction on how to prepare different type of foods/menus for the different stages.

Dr. Rohrer was the best. I wish I would have been able to keep him as my surgeon and I would still have my band...:((
