David Miles Bariatric Surgeon M.D.
DR. Miles is a GREAT surgeon...The hospital staff couldn't say enough about how great he is and they were correct. When I first met with DR. Miles, I was extremely impressed with him. He's very strict with pre-op and post-op instructions which showed me what a good surgeon he is. He's very personable too which you don't find often in the medical community. I can honestly say from the time I woke up in the recovery room, I was not in a whole lot of pain. I was surprised at how well I actually felt. I was discharged the following morning. The little pain that I experience left by the fourth day and I felt as though I had never even had the surgery. I am now three weeks post op and three of my incisions are barely visible and the other four will soon catch up. My liver was really huge and caused DR Miles some problems during the surgery and this is the reason for the extra incisions. I feel my quick recovery was due to DR. Miles excellence. I WOULD RECOMMEND DR MILES TO ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS SURGERY...YOU WON'T FIND A BETTER SURGEON!!!!! He also has a great staff (Helen is the best), monthly support group meetings and a Nutritionist.
My first impression of Dr. Miles is that he is a very thoughtful, caring, and informative doctor. His staff is wonderful and will answer any question, no matter how many times you have asked it.
Dr. Miles stresses the importance of support, education, exercise and nutrition. He adressed the risks of surgery fully.
I would give Dr. Miles a A+ rating; he seems to be a wonderful person as well as a wonderful doctor.
01/02/03 ~ PRAISE GOD! I am home and doing great. I can say that when I got home I was thinking what the heck have I done to myself, I MISS FOOD. I am happy to say that I am getting over that, LOL. As for Dr. Miles is absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about him thus far! He is an extremely skilled Laparascopic surgeon as I feel like I was not even operated on. He even removed my catheter personally which the nurses just could not believe. I felt right as ease at the hospital especially when I was being prepped the nurses RAVED about Dr. Miles and how fortunate I was to have him as my surgeon.
11/20/02 Surgery date scheduled!!! December 27th at New Hanover Regional! Yeah for me... I am excited and scared at the same time.
09-02-02 Hi all!! Not too much new going on here. I met with Dr. Miles and found him very pleasant. His nurse Helen likes to talk and she is very well informed. She has been with Dr. Miles for 12 years!
