Dr. Miles is a wonderful and very patient
physician. I would recommend anyone to him. He is not forceful, but he expects you to adhere to all the guidelines that his facility has set forth for patients that are interested in gbypass both pre-op and post-op. He does the Roux-en Y on all patients. If you are a smoker you must stop smoking 3 months pre-op. If you take oral contraceptives you must discontinue taking them 3 months pre-op. These things were my downsides, but I managed to overcome. There was a concern that my surgery might be an open procedure because of scar tissue and adhesions but Dr. Miles was able to do my surgery by laparascopy. I stayed in the hospital overnite and went home the following afternoon. I have no regrets and I am happy to say that I am 16lbs lighter and feeling great. If you are interested in changing your lifestyle forever I recommend this procedure. If you feel that you might slip take your time to decide if gbypass is for you. I wish you all the very best. May God Bless You

Although I have only seen Dr. Miles once so far he was very informative and kind, he seemed a bit rushed.
Dr.Miles has one nurse that handles everything from scheduling to insurance and she is a GOD, she answers all calls quickly and seems to have all the answers to all your questions. If Dr.Miles ever lost this employee, I could forsee his office being in shambles... the staff is very professional and know what they are doing and have become a very tightly run ship!
The least thing that I do not like is that you don't get alot of one on one time with Dr.Miles( this can be VERY scarey). Dr. Miles whole program is very structured and it is a must you follow all directions or they don't have time for you as there are alot of others waiting you have to be committed I know I had to quit smoking and have had to prove to them I have quit otherwise they would not proceed... ( this is a very big PLUS)... Dr.Miles seems to cover all riskd very clearly and takes all precautions... So far Dr.Miles and staff are a 10 if a 10 was the best, things could change but thus far I am please.

There is no way that I could give Dr. Miles and his staff, anything but, a 100% positive review.
His office staff is great. I loved Kathy from day one. Then I met Helen, and she is
A#1 in my book.
Dr. Miles "and" Helen are very thorough and caring, before and after surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Miles was that he was very professional, open and highly qualified. His reputation is first class in the regional medical area and for this type of surgery. My first impression was correct. I highly recommend him to others seeking WLS. All of his patients are very well prepared for the surgery by the time the big day arrives. I had no suprises and absolutely no complications. There was very little pain, only soreness. To qualify for surgery with Dr. MIles you must complete a vigerous pre-op program of diet, diet/nutrition classes, exercise, counceling, medical exams, sleep studies, etc. He and his staff make sure you are fully prepared for this journey before and after surgery. They are so friendly and professional that you know you are in very good hands. They are always ready to answer any questions. I have no complaints, only praise for Dr. David Miles and his staff.

I loved his bed side manner. He answered everthing I asked and sent me to lot of test before hand. This was to make sure that there was nothing that was a surpires to him. His nurse Helen was very nice and helpful with getting the insurance to pay she did all the leg work to get this approved.

My impression of him has not changed and the last visit my mom went with me and she asked lot of question that he was more than happy to answer. He did sugarcoat any thing. He told us just what to except and that he would do all in his power fir me should anything go bad during the surgery.

I have no complatent of him. He has been very nice to me. I am alot afraid of being put to sleep. So he made me an appointment with a dr. to help me over come this some. I am still afraid but I think I will be all right.

He has give me lot of papers for me to read about aftercare and the things that are excepted of me after surgery and he talked with my family and told them. I can call amy time with problems and he would be their.

Dr Miles was very nice and open. I think he's going to have a great bedside manner and easy to talk to. His office staff is also very nice and open to questions and concerns just as he is. I liked his willingness to listen to my questions and answer them openly and honestly. The thing I liked least was that he was in a hurry because he was so busy, but he did take time to answer any questions that I had. Aftercare is very important and emphasized throughout the conversation with Dr M. I am pre-surgery but so far I would give Dr M an excellent rating. I wouldn't trust anyone else to do this for me.

10/09/2003 Had my first consulatation with my surgeon today. He came across as a very gentle, concerned, unbiased, qualified, and informative surgeon. His office staff is made up of angels... they are the best group of women you will ever meet... Helen and Kathy are wonderful! They are very upfront about your part in the WLS surgery and aftercare is extremely important. Everyone's door is always open from surgeon, nurse, psychologist, and nutritionist. I would highly recommend Dr Miles' WLS program.

I met my surgeon for the first time on 9/26/03. He came across as very serious, professional, but warm. He definitely has a positive outlook on this whole process and you can't help but feel confident that he knows what he's doing and he cares about it as well. His office staff is Wonderful. Helen is very competent and willing to work miracles for all of us,and Cathy, my favorite...she is so wonderful. I met her first and adore her. The others I don't know but they are pleasant as well. I don't know him well enough to have a least aspect to Dr. Miles. The risks and the beforecare and aftercare programs have been mentioned several times by his staff and he followed with the same thoughts. Its nice to know that the whole office is of one mind when it comes to your health. So far I would rate Dr. Miles as someone I would trust with my life..literally.

I didnt get to meet Dr miles, I met his nurse Helen. She is super sweet but very upfront about this surgery, what you have to do and what can happen.
I was scheduled for my 1st nutrition class on 8-9-03. I will return to see Dr Miles himself on 9-2-03.

9-3-03
My 1st impression of Dr Miles was..wow he is young..LOL He spent quite a while talking to me, telling me what I needed to do to sucessfully get thru this surgery. He was very open with me about what could happen.
The office staff is just excellent! They all know you by name after to being there a few times. They are generally concerned and very very nice!
Dr Miles is very specific about his after care he tells you what you have to after surgery, no if ands or buts about it!
I would rate my surgeon and all of his staff a 10++++++. I highly recommend Dr Miles to anyone and everyone having or planning on having this surgery.
