He is absolutely the greatest doctor ever! I would recommend him to everyone. He and his staff truly care about their patients. He gets to know them on a personal level. It is very apparent that his heart is in bariatric surgery and he has dedicated his life to helping people gain back their lives. I am so fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Kim's. Also, he emphasizes attending his support group post op. It is basically a requirement. I still attend after 3 years. It helps keep you focused. I can't say enough about him or the program he has built.
DR KIM IS A REALLY SOFT SPOKEN MAN THAT HAS SO MUCH LOVE FOR WHAT HE DOES...HE DESCRIBES HIMSELF AS SANTA CLAUS...HE HAS A DEDICATED STAFF THAT HE LOVES TO TALK ABOUT.....HE DID STATE THERE ARE RISK ..BUT HAS NEVER HAD A PATIENT TO DIE...I WOULD RATE HIM OVERALL AS A MAN WHO CARES AS IF HE WAS OBESE AT ONE TIME..KEEP IN MIND .........I MET HIM AT A SEMINAR HAVE NOT CONSULTED YET WILL SOON ...Have consulted with Dr Kim. 3mos diet started finished approved 1st try ..have date 07/17/07 his nurses are the best ..
I went to my surgeon's seminar and liked him a lot. His office is different that others that I've seen because he waits until the insurance has approved surgery before seeing his patients for the first time. I am ok with that because he has seen all of my medical records and he doesn't have to see me face to face to know my medical history. I do know that Kathy in his office is a sweetheart. I will update this if I'm approved for surgery and get to meet Dr. Kim and his staff in person.
Dr Kim is the BEST surgeon ever. He really tries to understand you as a person and to meet your needs. I felt very comfortable and safe with him. Thank you Dr. Kim for giving me my life back.....His staff is very well prepared, they are very nice and courteous. For Dr. Kim the most important thing is the aftercare, not only taking care after surgery but on the long run. Meaning good eating habits and exercise.
Dr. Kim is amazing! I was being \"jerked\" around by another doctor, in Dallas, for 3 months, when I decided to change to Dr. Kim. I called his office, I was already approved for surgery, and I had my surgery the following Thursday. Pam, Dr. Kim's Nurse Coordinator is outstanding; as well as all of his office staff. We loved Dr. Kim so much, he performed my husband's hernia surgery 2 weeks after my surgery. I could not recommend a better surgeron.
Dr. Kim is a Godsend. He is not a surgeon who will just operate because the insurance approves you. He is concerned for your health before and after surgery. I have been anemic for the last 20 years and no Doctor has been able to tell me why or has even done anything to find out why until Dr. Kim. Because he checked, his discovery probably save my life and had he done the surgery I could have not made it through it. Make sure you have a surgeon who concerned about you and not just adding another patient under his belt.rn********************************rnMy first impression of Dr. Kim was he was nice and very thorough. My impression has not changed over time of Dr. Kim..he was concerned about my chronic anemia and wanted more test done in which a problem was found. Even though it postponed my surgery I was grateful of his concern. I would rate Dr. Kim an excellent physician..he stresses following the aftercare instructions and keeps up with your progress. After I have the surgery I'm sure I will have more to say.
My first impression of Dr. Kim was made at the weight loss seminar. I felt very positive towards him. After meeting him in person prior to surgery- I was not so sure. He was very short with me, and put off by my questions, stating that all of that would be covered by his nurse in the pre-op information class for pts. and their family members.rnrnOverall, he is a good surgeon, he did however lack in pain control. I was in severe pain, crying d/t the severe discomfort. But no change was made to my pain management. At one point, I even asked the nurse/directed the nurse to call him- but they declined. Dr Kim was very unsympathetic to my complaints. rnrnAlso, he insists on leaving a JP-surgical drain in, in all of his patients. This is not common practice, this is his practice. A lot of my post-op discomfort was directly related to the drain.
I could never say enough kind words about Dr. Kim. He is such a wonderful and encouraging man that loves his job and loves helping people. He is always so excited to see you and very genuine about his concern towards you and your personal health. rnrnMy surgery went extremely well with no complications. I think the reason Dr. Kim and myself get along so well is the fact that I respect him as a doctor and a surgeon. I have tried to do all that he has advised me to do. And it has worked extremely well. So when choosing a surgeon I chose Dr. Kim because of his attitude and understanding of what overweight people go through and his desire to give them a better quality of life. rnrnI love Dr. Kim because he helped change and save my life.
