Dr. Davis performed my Lapband surgery on Dec 16, 2009 at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. I know he has moved to the Stamford, CT area and is no longer associated with the Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery. I just want to share my experience with anyone else considering bariatric surgery with Dr. Davis. During my first pre-op meeting meeting with him, he was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. The morning of the procedure, he paid me a quick visit to re-assure me that everything would be fine. Post-op visits with him were also good. He was professional and helpful. I have had NO post-op issues as a result of the surgery. I have lost a total of 120 lbs and am now at my goal weight. I would recommend Dr. Daniel Davis to anyone interested in bariatric lapband surgery. It changed my life. Thank you Dr. Davis!

Dr. Davis is a dream. After the nightmare I had with another surgeon's office, this was a breath of fresh air. Geo, Dr. Davis' nurse practitioner was there to help and answer any questions- at all times - even in the middle of the night. I never felt like just another patient. Everyone always seemed to remember me, call me by name, even able to recall details about me that did not pertain to weight or bariatric surgery. The surgery went very smoothly, and all of my follow ups were extremely pleasing. He is no longer practicing at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, however if you are in the tri-state area he is still at Columbia University in the city and I HIGHLY recommend him.

He is a very nice man who always has a smile on his face. Great bed side manner and makes you feel really comfortable. He is really realistic with people and their weight loss challenges, like the fact that people do need to eat and they cant just change their life over night. The office staff is super supportive and the Nurse Practitioner, who does all the fills and most appts is very nice and supportive! No question is ever stupid and he makes you feel special, not like another patient.

Dr. Davis is a such a sweet person, very good natured, and a great surgeon. The Nurse Practitioner Gio, is very friendly and also really nice. The office staff is very helpful, they really try to help you in anyway they can. I had my surgery recently and really happy. They do offer an aftercare program where you can meet with others who had the surgery as well, it is recommended to attend. I rate Dr. Davis and his staff A+++++++ I definitely recommend Dr. Davis & his staff to anyone considering having WLS. He and his staff are really # 1!rnxoxo, Rochelle : )

Dr. Davis appeared somewhat reserved, but friendly and warm upon my first introduction to him. He is a quiet-spoken, but pleasant man with a ready smile and attentive manner. rnHis office staff at The Center for Obesity Surgery at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ are incredible people. They are all friendly, pleasant, and thoughtful. Kristin (insurance specialist) is one of the most organized and competent individuals I have ever met. She also has the patience of Mother Theresa. She is a gem! rnDr. Davis is very accommodating when it comes to aftercare. He lets you have ice chips right after you wake up in recovery and you get sips of water every 20 minutes (up to 1 oz). rnHe advises you to \"listen to you body and use common sense\" in deciding what you can do after you return home. He stresses pacing yourself on all things and moving at a slow and cautious pace in progressing from liquids to pureed to soft solid foods. He doesn't place any restrictions unless you have a special situation warranting such. He trusts you to be mature, practice common sense, and do what your body tells you is appropriate. rnDr. Davis rates well off the charts for me. He's an all around great guy. His surgical competence and his bedside manner are amazing. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking bariatric surgery.

Dr. Davis was not at the group lectures that I attended and at first I found that a little curious. I later saw him at the center, and even though I haven't had my appointment with him yet, he greeted me with a big smile.rnrnGreat staff! Much more follow-through than the last group I tried. The receptionist is so cheerful, genuine and really good with people. Dory Ferrarra, the Nurse Practitioner is very good and answers questions with authority. Nothing I asked threw her, and she was very honest. The nutritionist, Staci, is very thorough and patient with my endless questions. Staci usually facilitates the support group, too.

I met Dr. Davis for the first time yesterday. He is a no nonsense type of person, very sincere and receptive. The staff, Rosie and Kristen are both wonderful! The Dr. explained that the follow up visits are very important and will help with my sucess. He also addressed the risks with the surgery, which I already knew from all the research I had done. I am looking forward to having my surgery on October 17th with Dr. Davis.
