Dana Lindsay Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

My first impression was that Dr Dana Lindsay was a very organized person who wanted to make sure all of the bases were covered when you started into the program. As time went along I also learned she did have a little bit of a laid back side to her which was not really relevant up front.
My first visit went very well, very organized and to the point and most of the time her appointments are very close to being on time.
She is a very forward type person and if you aren't doing what you need to, or that you are suppose to be doing she will tell you.
The aftercare part of the program is very important and she follows up on it extremely close. And the one thing she does is let you know before hand the importance of the aftercare program and what will happen if you don't follow it. It can be rather uncomfortable for you if you don't, this is what she is trying to prevent with the program.
There was a educational meeting and support group meetings that you HAD to attend before
being approved for the surgery. The purpose was for you to learn about the surgery and what people that have had the surgery have experienced afterwards. I believe all the risks and complications were covered. Just remember to always ask questions.
Overall I would rate her extremely competent on a scale of 1 to 10 I would say between a 9 and 10.
Surgical competence is extremely important but if you can not talk to your patient you have failed.
Overall it was a good experience with a few rough spots along the way. The one thing I will repeat is always ask questions.

I fell in love with her the first time she came in to examing room, she is honest and caring. The staff is just as great as she is and all care about the patients first. I would recommend her to everyone I talk to. She tells you that if you have the surgery with her you are hers for life, she will stay with you all the way.

Dr. Lindsay is very knowledgeable and down to earth. Her office staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this surgeon to others.

DR LINDSAY IS THE GREATEST. I HAD COMPLICATIONS AND SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE. I WOULD TRUST HER WITH MY LIFE AGAIN.SHE TELLS IT LIKE IT IS. SHE IS BLUNT AND LETS YOU KNOW HOW THINGS ARE AND COULD BE. I AM 18 MONTHS OUT AND SHE IS STILL THERE WHEN I NEED HER. MY DAUGHTER IS CONSIDERING HAVING WLS AND WOULDNT EVEN THINK OF USING ANYONE ELSE. AGAIN, ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT SHE IS WONDERFUL IN EVERY WAY. IM NOT CRAZY ABOUT HER OFFICE STAFF BUT SHE MORE THAN MAKES UP FOR IT.

I had my barriatric seminar with dr. Lindsay and her R.N. Eileen Williams yesterday...the seminar was very beneficial and I feel their staff is very competent...will tell you more when I know more...I like the fact that they did not sugar coat things...let me know exactly what I am in for...and they instruct to get prepared for the life altering changes now!!! I can see where this is very beneficial...they went through total aftercare instructions in what to expect..definitely they have an aftercare program...they let us know upfront what complications CAN happen...and what to expect if they do....I think the staff at Johnson Memorial is very educated and very competent...as I don't have my surgery yet can't answer that last question.

I first met Dana Lindsay at the information seminar.
I was very impressed with how open and informative she was about the surgery including the risks during and after surgery. She seemed truly concerned and caring about overweight people and has the desire to help them change their lives.
When I met her one on one, she seemed so very nice and energetic but yet very blunt and to the point. She explained the surgery, the follow up visits and said that she likes to follow her patients for several years.
Her staff has always been nice and helpful when needed.
I am very satisfied with the care from my surgeon that I have recieved to this point. And when asked about my weight loss I have been open to others about my surgeon and the surgery.
If I had one question I would like to ask her it would be "How can a person that is so slim and trim care or understand the world that an obese person lives?" Maybe someday I will remember to ask her how she feels about it!

I chose Dr. Lindsay , I had heard alot of good thing about her, she has your best at heart . She is open ,up front ,to the point . one person said they had one of her pt. as a room mate , that did not want to get up and walk , so she pulled them out of bed. That is the kind of Doctor I want , and need !

Her staff is all just as nice, and they all know you when, you call , or come in.
And The hospital , is just their for her. aal she dose is call and your in that same day, or week.I know she is not God, but with God help, she is my life saver.
This is just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and that I am making no statements about what other people may experience.

I liked Doc. Lindsay cause she was right up front with you. She will answer all your question you have. She is a great person. Her office staff is great to. They are just like her. She came in every day after surgery making sure everything was going good and to see if my needs were being took care of. My husband said she was nice when she came out and told him everything that went on. He said he needed to hear that. She explain everything. I think if anyone is thinking about having this surgery Doc. Lindsay is the one for you.

I FIRST MET MY SURGEON AT A INFORMATION MEETING SHE HAD. I LIKED HER AND ALSO HER STAFF THAT WAS THERE. SHE WAS ALSO NICE TO HER STAFF AND SMILED AND JOKED AROUND WHEN IT WAS APPROTIATE.SHE TALKED ABOUT THE SURGERY HER DEATH RATE FROM COMPLICATIONS NOT FROM THE SURGERY SHE ALSO TOLD US WE WOULD COME AND SEE HER ONCE A YEAR FOR FOLLOW UO CHECK UPS AND TO HELP KEEP AN EYE ON US. I LIKED THAT SHE WANTS TO MAKE SURE A YEAR OR TWO AFTER THE SURGERY SHE STILL CARES ABOUT US. I WILL GET A CALL FROM HER OFFICE SOON AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO A 1 ON 1 WITH HER. AFTER MY APPOINTMENT I WILL WRITE AN UPDATE.i had my appointnment with the dr. she is very nice i would recomend her to anyone she did one test on me at the hospital and everyone at the hospital was so nice the dr. and staff treated me like family, i am not nervous at all with the dr. or the hospital dr. dana lindsay at johnson memorial hospital. both are a + in my book.
