The first time I meet Dr.Lindsay she was being shown around by the CEO of our hospital. I really didn't get any type of impression one way or the other. I was just glad to see another woman doctor decide to practice at our hospital. Over time she won not only my respect as a surgeon, but as a person as well. She was down to earth and friendly. Not afraid to ask a nurses opinion and even act upon it. As far as I'm conserned she is the only surgeon I'd allow to preform my RNY. One of the partners in her group is always avaliable in case of the unexpected. She has a genuine consern for the morbid odese person and that makes all the difference. HER OFFICE STAFF IS WONDERFUL.You never feel rushed or like just another patient. It's because I am a nurse that I feel this way, just ask any of her patients, you will get the same responce. Of course she is human and has her off days and I have seen her get down right rude a time of two. But all things considered she is a good person and an excellent surgeon.
Very straight forward and helpful. She knows what she is doing.
I have had no change in the way I feel about her as of this time. I'm sure she will only get better!
The staff is very friendly. Quiet area, and they get you right back when you arrive.
I haven't found anything that I haven't liked about her.
She's great and knows that there are people out there that can't loose weight by diets and excersice. She wants to help all of us, not just singled out people.
She is strong on after care and the pre-op. They give you a diet to follow and she says once she is in you, she can tell if you've been cheating.
As for any surgery, there are risks and one is death. she lets you know this and you have to read a couple of things and take a little t/f test. If you miss any, she makes sure to go over them with you so you fully understand.
I'll have to let you know about the beside manner and surgical competence. I'm sure she will be great.
I have worked with Dr.Lindsay for about 3-4 years. I took care of her when she had both of her babies. She is very honest and down to earth. I have had the opportunity to watch her operate and have been duely impressed. Her office staff is great and calls frequently to keep her patients posted. They even call if they have openings in appointments to try to get people in as soon as possible. She has her patients see a nutritional counselor at the hospital and a psychologist at the local mental health facility. The dietician also comes up to the patients room to re-educate on the eating plan after surgery. Dr.Lindsay has gotten a support group together that meet at the local hospital every month. She was very honest with me regarding the risks of surgery and her aftercare program. She will follow me very closely after surgery. She also takes call for her Roux En Y patients, instead of her partners, all of the time. I would rate her as an excellent surgeon. I have seen her with families, patients, and personally and can't say anything negative. She is great!!
Initially, my surgeon was going to be Dr Tim Glass but after an extreme amount of research, I changed doctors and went with Dr Dana Lindsey of Franklin, Indiana. Her process is a lot more personal and I like that a lot...no group meetings here...stricly one on one. She is a very competent surgeon and answers all questions with ease. I do not have a new surgery date yet but should have after June 4, 2000.
I think she is wonderful! There was no group, no nurse, just her, kim, and myself. All attention on us. She explained everything that she would do to prevent clots, everything about the tubes, infections, just to much to tell. I was very impressed with her. The staff at the front desk, they were very nice.

I just can't say enough about Dr. Linsay. I have seen her several times now since my surgery and I have NO regrets of changing from St. Vincent. She is so down to earth it is unbelievable. I have never felt rushed at a visit, she takes her time with questions and answers. Her nurse is so funny about weighing other places she will say "You better not be weighing anyplace else" (that is so you don't get disappointed if your weight loss is different). Dr Linsay is such a caring person I think that is why she makes such a wonderful doctor.
I have met with Dr Lindsay 3 times now and my impression has not changed. She is very professional and knows her business but is also a warm caring person. She tells it like it is in language you can understand. All questions are treated with respect, you do not feel rushed. She is very easy to talk to and I felt relaxed and have no qualms about trusting her with my life.
She works with a dietician and there is a support group at the same center.
A visit with your spouse or S/O is required so that there is no doubt that everyone understands the risks of the surgery. She gives you pages to study and a test afterward so she is sure everything is clear.
The office is very neat and clean and the staff seems professional and friendly.
I would rate her as execellent.
I think the dietician is traditional and might need to learn more about the needs of bariatric patients. This is only a first impressioin and may change as we work together.
Dr. Lindsay is the best. She seems honest and caring. She answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. My best friend Rhonda just had an open rny this afternoon with Dr. Lindsay she is as we speak in a morphine stupor. I am very confident in Dr. lindsay's skills as a surgeon. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
I can't say enough about Dr. Lindsay. She really impresed me on my first visit, she explained everything so I could understand it. She told me the good and the bad and was very straight forward about both. She was very patient and spent a lot of time with me. I did not feel rushed at any time.
My husband was with me. Dr. Lindsay also addressed him, she told him what to expect and what was expected of him.(which I appreciated)
She told me what was going to happen both before and after surgery and what she expected me to do to help myself.
As for her staff, they are the greatest. I have been denided twice by my insurance co. They are helping me above and beyond the call of duty. They call me and ask about progress and are helping me by acting as a go between with the incurance co when needed.
They are my guardiaan angels right now!
