I highly recommend Dr. Charles Stone to anyone seeking Weight Loss Surgery. My first impression of him was that he had heart of concern for obese people. He strongly desires to help those who struggle with obesity successfully lose weight and become healthy. He is excited about his work in bariatric surgery because he says that with no other surgery can so many health problems be eliminated. He is a surgeon with TEAM: BARIATRICS in Goshen, Indiana. This team uses a wholistic approach to weight loss. On staff are a Bariatrician, Dr. Hawkins, who heads up the medically managed weight loss program. There is an Adult Nurse Practitioner, certified in Psych Nursing, a Dietician, a personal exercise trainer, a spiritual counselor, and a wonderfully supportive staff.

Comments About Team Bariatrics for Weight Reduction Goshen Health Services:
WONDERFULLY CARING!! Very informative!! VERY honest with the risks and complication possibility. My impression has remained very high of Dr. Stone!!! The whole group at TEAM BARIATRICS in Goshen is an AWESOME and CARING group of people!! Future patients, if you want a very caring surgeon doing your surgery who will put you ahead of everything else choose Dr. Stone and the rest of TEAM BARIATRICS in Goshen, INDIANA!!! The whole team talk alot about aftercare and how important it is. Yes, there is a whole set up for preop care clear through post op care. Dr. Stone emphasizes his patients are very important to him. Dr. Stone has a slideshow about the surgery and goes through it in an hour and makes sure he touches all bases of the surgery even the dreaded thought of complications and mortality rates. I would rate Dr. Stone as a million out of 10. He's an honest man. Both surgical competence and bedside manner should be great. Especially when it deals with such a sensitive matter as dealing with the obese.

My first impression of Dr. Stone was a bit reserved. I felt unprepared as I didn't know what questions to ask and I didn't want to frustrate Dr. Stone. As it turned out, he explained the entire process and all risks. It was a very educational meeting. As my surgery date approached, I began to feel like I had a real relationship with the Team Bariatrics staff. We had several support group meetings before my surgery date so I felt well informed as my surgery approached. Dr. Stone and Dr. Gerig were my surgeons and you couldn't get a finer team. Dr. Stone is a very dedicated surgeon, Christian and family man. Dr. Gerig can look you in the eye and know how you are doing post op...he is very warm and kind. Before and after my surgery, I knew that I could completely trust Drs. Stone and Gerig. Aftercare is intensive, well- rounded and is a must for these surgeons. Team Bariatrics is comprised of amazing individuals... each of whom has there whole heart in what they are doing.

Dr. Charlie Stone is passionate about the treatment of (both medically and psychologically) obese patients. He gave a wonderful presentation for our health system for sensitivity training prior to bariatric surgery commencing. He definitely wants his patients to be well-informed and to understand the change in lifestyle that will occur, and the degree of effort required to be successful in surgery.
Dr. Stone recently relocated to Goshen Indiana from Ohio and is a member of the Gerig Surgical Group. He will be performing bariatric surgery at Goshen Hospital (www.goshenhealth.com) with Dr. Winston Gerig and Dr. Denise Murphy. The staff at the Gerig Group is knowledgeable and professional.
Before and after-care is highly stressed. Goshen Health System has established Team Bariatrics (www.teambariatrics.com) for wholistic care for both surgical and non-surgical patients. Dr. Stone and Team Bariatrics encompass a valuable program for weight loss with a variety of options specifically tailored to each patient.
Dr. Stone is a Christian, and he prays with you and prays over you. He truly has his patients' well-being at heart.

I really was impressed with Dr.Stone at our first meeting. He was very kind and helpful and explained things very well.He gave me hope and I have'nt had much of that in long time.
I admired his Christian faith and his willingness to share with me.He is a brother in Christ. It feels like a team..Jesus,Dr.Stone and myself.
Dr.Stone's staff are wonderful but they are my friends as we all work for the same Health system.
Dr.Stone really impressed me that he did'nt sugar coat anything in that I know what is expected of me and feel ready to meet the challenge.
The after care program sounds very structured.I want to participate in a group after I have my surgery to help myself and others.
Dr.Stone was very honest about the risks involved with WLS.It was almost scary...but he was reassuring and explained what we would do to prevent complications.
I would rate my first consultation with Dr.Stone as tremendous.I left feeling excited and hopeful.

My first impression of Dr. Stone was that he was very knowledgeable as he explained everything to me. He even drew a picture. I felt very relaxed especially after I noticed he was wearing cowboy boots. The staff was very kind and helpful also. I felt that I could call anytime and ask as many stupid questions as I wanted.

My first impression of Dr. Stone was a very caring person. He is easy to put you trust in and has even prayed with patients, who were unsure of their fellings about surgery. His staff are all very helpful and will go out of their was to be friendly and put you at ease.He stresses the fact that learning to eat right is as much a part of the rest of your life as the surgery. He strongly suggests you go to support groups as part of the follow-up. They meet the first Monday of every month. He explained all the problems that can appear during and after surgery, so I was fully aware of all the risks. He was always professional but at the same time approachable.

Dr. Stone was very informative and immediatley discussed the risks to having this surgery. His staff was very friendly and made the first experience very comfortable. When I met with Dr. Stone at my preop he was very friendly and made me feel even more confident about my decision and about him as my doctor.

I met with a new surgeon on 01/08/03. His name is Dr. Charles Stone at the Holzer Center in Gallipolis, OH. He was by far the most caring and informative surgeon I have ever met. He stressed that him and his staff will treat me with compassion - not treat me like a number. I was with him for an hour and he answered every question. He did not rush me at all. Then I met with his friendly staff which was a counselor and a nutritionist for an 1/2 hour each. They answered all of my questions and did not rush me either. Holzer has a strong aftercare program and the doctor and staff made sure you knew about it. The doctor won't even do the surgery unless you agree to do the aftercare program. Dr. Stone was very specific about the risks of surgery and after surgery. I have spoken to one of his female patients and she had nothing but great things to say about him and the hospital. I feel that I will be in great hands and, at this time, I cannot say anything bad about the experience. I feel Dr. Stone will also have surgical competence because he already has an excellent bedside manner. The only hold up now is having to take the MMPI and the earliest I could schedule that was 02/21/03. Holzer finally has my MMPI results so looks like I will be having surgery in July.
