Carlos Barba Bariatric Surgeon

My surgeon is actually Dr. Lorenzo, he is Dr. Barbas partner.

Dr. Barba was excellent he is a little busy though. The followup care has been excellent. The people in his office especialy Rosemary and Judy the dietican have been very helpful. A little tough to get an appointment but just keep calling. Excellent Dr overall but remember he has many patients so he doesn't have time to hold your hand through this.

I love Dr. Barba, he saved my life! He is the most personable surgeon I have ever met and made me feel quite comfortable throughout my journey. He usually personally takes care of me however I have seen Dr. Lorenzo a few times as well. The staff is superb, I love Rosemary and Edna. If it were not for them putting up with my thousand and two questions and keeping me calm I would have never made it this far. The dietician is very thorough and everytime my blood work came back with a deficiency she would call me right away and work out a diet adjustment with me. They have a support group and are very sympathetic and encouraging for each of us as we go through each step. I knew from the beginning what risks I was taking and Dr. Barba does not fluff over the stats. He makes sure you understand what could happen. He also stresses this is a joint effort and that I have a big responsibility as well to keep this a successful method of weight loss for me. I have complete faith in Dr. Barba and his staff, I wouldn't change a thing. This didn't go off seamlessly, I developed multiple infections and required a great deal of intervention on their part. They were always there for me and took me in a moments notice everytime I got sick.

My first impression of Dr Barba was a good one ,he did not pull any punches and his seminar was very informational. His staff were wonderful in answering all my questions and helping me go through the process.

Dr. Barba was great, very informative. The office staff was always there for me to answer any questions. When I called his office to set up my first appointment, they said they would be having a seminar in January, and to bring all my insurance information, so I did. I learned a lot at that meeting. The office staff took all my information and said that they would be contacting me with all my appointments, within a week I got a call from the office and they faxed over all my appointments. Everything has gone so smoothly. I am really looking forward to surgery.

Dr. Barba is a professional. His Staff is very knowledgeable about the surgery and its after effects.

They have been very helpful and took care of any insurance headaches (thanks guys!)

All that they ask is that you follow your diet appropriately and they are very helpful if you call with any questions.

I really like Dr Barba, i only got to meet him a few weeks before my surgery at the last visit before the surgery date. I did meet Dr Lorenzo however. When I first met him he struck me as a kind warm person who really cares for his clients. The second time I met him was in the holding room right before surgery and he was just as nice, asked me if I was nervous and made sure I was ready. He was also nice to my familyand explained everything to them. He is very realistic on the surgery that it isn't a cure all but it will help. The office staff was nice, although the wait time in the office is a bit long. Rosemary was really quick at returning my phone calls. And all of my questions were answered honestly and with dignity, I never felt that I was being "talked down" to. The aftercare was structured with everythig put down in writing for you. Risks of the surgery were explained thouroughly and several times by the doctor, nurse, dietitian and agin at the hospital. The pre-op class to prepare you for surgery was great too. I would have to rate Dr Barba and his staff very highly. HE has a gread bedside manner and the surgical compitence is more like expertise

I have a very good feeling about Dr Barba and his whole staff, his office took care of everything dealing with my insurance. I received my insurance approval within 24 hours of first letter

I think Dr. Barba is warm, caring and friendly. His staff has been wonderful and so helpful. I have been well informed of all the risks and complications of surgery to make sure it is something I really want to do. I would refer him to anyone considering surgery
