Very Knowledgable & Friendly.
Very helpful & thorough.
Kind & Supportive. Karen, Beth, Michele & Jill all have been very helpful. Always there to answer your questions or concerns! Thank you!
If anyone is looking to have Bariatric surgery & live near the Cleveland, OH area I recommend that you see Dr.Ben-Meir & his team!!
I've received several calls from the doctor's team after my post-op with concern of my well being and offering any advice that I may need.
My first impression of Dr. Ben-meir was definitely good...He was very intelligent and
very knowledgeable in his field of expertise!
My impression did not change, I only grew to
admire him more.
The office staff at SVCH for Dr. Ben-meir is
definitely the greatest!!! Latonya Riley is
a gem, and a very intelligent one at that..She knows how to handle insurance forms, and companies....
There was nothing that I did not like!
Future patients would do well to try and get
Dr. Ben-meir to do their surgeries!!!
Aftercare is essential, and enforced by the
dr. to the fullest for success!
Yes, their is a structured aftercare program,
you must follow in order to succeed in your
new life's journey!
The risks of surgery were put to me right out
front with no hidden risks, I felt really secure in his care...
Overall, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 the best, I would give him an 11!!!
I really liked Dr Ben-Meir. He answered all my questions, was not in a hurry. After surgery he took the time to explain to my family about the surgery. What would be happening after surgery. His office staff is very helpful any questions you can call and someone will get back to you. I have told many people about Dr Ben-Meir and would most certainly tell them the best place for the surgery is St Vincents Charity Hosptial in Cleveland any the super surgeon is Dr Ben-Meir. As for the after care they want you to go to the monthly meetings. They teach different things about post surgical care and your body. As for the risks Dr Ben-Meir brought up the risks and the benefits. Overall to rate him and his service I would say beyond a 10! His bedside manner and surgical competence is both excellent
Kind and Gentle.
Same
Over worked, but great
He was very perfessional, he didn't beat around the bush or blow us off. He took as much time with me as I needed.
Nonthing, he was great. I refer him to friends.
He dosn't take any chances, he is very thoro. He makes sure you are in the best of health before surgery.
Very much. He said sece we lived so far away to see my family doctor after the first 6 months.
He suggested a support group but it was to far away.
He said it was a major surgery, but he has never lost a patient.
Excellant!
Both.
Dr. Ben-Meir is a great surgeon and person. My first impression of him was "God, he looks tired!" He's a very popular guy, I'm sure. I mean this in a good way. His reputation is amazing. Over 600 surgeries and no blod clots, leaks, or deaths. Which are the main risks of surgery.
His staff is great! They are all so sweet and kind. Dr. Ben-Meir and his staff are very concerned for each person. Each patient has to follow a very detailed post-op program. Mu nurse, Julie Welchek, is wonderful!
Overall, he is exactly what every patient should look for when trying to find a surgeon.
I had my initial consultation with Dr. Aviv Ben-Meir on 8/20/04. He was very easy to talk to. He answered all of my questions and even quizzed me to see how knowledgeable I was about this surgery. He was also very thorough explaining the complications that could arise, including death, and he stressed the need for life long follow-up appointments. I feel very comfortable knowing he will be doing my surgery.
First impression of Dr Ben-Meir was "he seems a little reserved" The more he discussed the surgery and encouraged my participation in the discussion, actually he quizzed me to find out how much knowledge I had on gastric bypass. I became alot more relaxed with him , even to the point of joking and getting a laugh out of him. The staff at the bariatic center at St Vincents are the BEST!! Very knowledgable, kind and non judgemental.
Dr Ben Meir did discuss with me the impact that bypass surgery would have on ny life. How I would need to have followup appointments with the office and was I willing to commit my self to that . They have preoperative classes that are mandatory to go to and then post operative support groups that they encourage you to attend.
All of the surgical risks were adressed with myself and my husband. I pretty much knew what they would be as I am a nurse myself. But when someone is discussing them and they pertain to you then you seemsx to sit up and listen a little closer. He covered all bases and was up front about how many times any of the risks have occured with his patients.
Overall I feel very confident that Dr Ben Meir will take excellent care of me, as will his staff.
If I could have a surgeon / staff that was not only surgically competent but also have the bedside manner to go along with it.. then I would say SUPER!!! I know thats what I will find at St Vincents Charity
He's very nice. Takes the time to explain what will happen in detail. He gave me plenty of time to ask any questions I had.
After surgery he was there every day (this includes the weekend). Talked to me, my husband as long as we needed. He seemed to be very concerned that we were comfortable.
The staff is nice. They seem to do everything in meeting form so it's hard to get a real feel for the treatment.
I don't have any thing bad to say about Dr. Ben-Meir.
Be ready with question if you have them, he will answer them fully.
Aftercare is repeated and repeated. They want to be sure that you not only know what to do but that you need to do it.
Bluntly. He asked me if I knew the risks and after I answered. He said "And there's always a chance of death." And went on from there.
Very high.
Since I don't know how to measure surgical competence other than I came home in one piece and feel good so I can say for me he was great. Bedside manner was great too.
