I met Dr. Coirin on August 27, 2003. He is a very calm and nice man. He took time to explain the procedure to me and answered all of my questions. I did not feel that he was rushing through the appt.
His office staff is very friendly but a wee bit too busy! They definately could use some more help and more space. You girls are on top of each other.
Dr. Coirin came and visited me 2 times in the hospital and was very concerned how I was feeling. He complimented me on how well I was progressing and healing.
I would recommend him to anybody that wants to have this surgery done.
From the first meeting I knew that Doctor Coirin was the surgeon for me. He treated each visit with great information and knew just what questions I needed to be asked. I feel he and his staff treat me with respect and anticipate what I need to know for the next phase of the post op care. Although I have not had many surgeries in my life, I would recommend Dr. Coirin to anyone considering Bariatric surgery. He is the BEST! I can honestly say I have nothing negative to share with my 9 months of pre/post op care with Dr. Coirin or his staff.
I met Dr.Coirin at his seminar in Manteca, he comes off as a very funny guy..I then met him at my consultation, and he is a very nice man,and very informative. He sits down with you and explains in great detail the process of the surgery and different kinds of surgery. His office staff is very informative and well trained..They keep you up to date on everything that is happening with your insurance and also help you with any questions you may have.Overall Dr.Coirin and his staff deserve an A on excellence..
Dr. Coirin seems to be a very confident doctor. I first met him the night of orientation he spoke and answered questions. He is a soft spoken man who tries to make sure everything is understood. I did have a consultation, it was brief, I didn't come very prepared, if anyone else is going come prepared with written questions. You will forget everything time you get in there. We have not talked about aftercare yet. He did address the risks of surgery to me and my husband. Best advice I could give anyone is to stay on top of their doctors office and insurance company, because sometimes papers get lost in the shuffle.
I had heard many positive things about Dr. Coirin from two friends who have already had RNY surgery. My first opportunity to meet Dr. Coirin took place during his seminar. From the first moment I felt a surge of excitement. I knew this was what I had been looking for and that Dr. Coirin was the only surgeon for me!
I am fortunate to have a fabulous support system and was accompanied by both my husband and my mother to the seminar. They had each been working through some concerns about my idea of surgery, and shared with me as soon as the seminar ended, that they were completely confident in my choice and the path I was taking. They have been a constant source of strength and support and I know will continue to be with me throughout this journey.
My first office appointment was later that same week, which resulted in even more positive reinforcement that this was where I needed to be.
Dr. Coirin was kind and concerned, very thorough in his explanations and in relaying to me what my expectations should be. He was honest and seemed genuine and sincere. I had done some research into the lap RNY procedure and found Dr. Coirin to be confident, knowledgeable and quite comfortable with my many questions and concerns. Dr. Coirin was also very clear that this was not something that would be over once my physical healing was complete. This was a lifelong commitment to my health. He discussed the importance of attending support group meetings, following the guidelines of the plan (he provides an excellent reference manual), and my responsibility to make and keep all follow-up appointments and complete my labwork to ensure my health.
I trust Dr. Coirin and know that God has led me to the hands that HE will work through.
I have seen Dr. Coirin before. He is wonderful; very calm, soothing and supportive. He has repaired a hernia for me several years ago. I trusted him with that surgery; and he can 'cut' on me any time. His office staff are supportive; but VERY busy. They do always take the time to hear you out. Dr. Coirin told me the surgery is just a tool; and repeated several times that the after care is the most important part. If you don't follow the plan; it won't work. Dr. Coirin; has great bedside manners and is amazing with surgery.
