Antonio Coirin Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I went to see Dr. Corin on Tuesday Feb. 17, 2004. The office staff and Dr. Corin were very helpful in answering all my questions. Dr. Corin went over the surgery completely.

My first impression of Dr. Coirin was formed at a meeting I attended at Doctor's Hospital in Manteca.
He was warm and genuine, very soft spoken but very honest about the surgery. Once I was ablt to meet with him in his office, I only came to be even more sure that I had made the right decision in surgeons.
Karen and Sonia have been life savers. They have helped me at every turn.
Anyone going to meet with Dr. Coirin must know that he is very quiet, but very willing to spend whatever time it takes to be sure all your questions have been answered. Do not be afraid to ask!
Dr. Coirin's staff sets up post op appointments for you and in the informational binder (my second Bible), but everyone tells you over and over again, "DO NOT BE AFRAID TO CALL!"
Doctor Coirin was very up front and honest about the risks associated with surgery. They do let you know that the percentage of deaths from this surgery are a lot lower than other surgeries and that the higher the weight and BMI the more risk involved. However, I believe in my case that the risks of not having surgery are much greater than the risk of the operation itself.
I think both bedside manner and surgical competence are important however, I would rather my surgeon be highly killed than a good talker!
I am excited, anxious and will be forever grateful for Dr. Coirin and his staff.
I cannot speak for others and believe everyone should judge physicians on their own.
What has been right for me may not be what is right for others. Anyone researching this surgery should feel free to contact several surgeons until you hit on one that feels right. Dr. Coirin was the third I had met with. The other two did not "feel" right, Dr. Coirin was a good fit for me.Your experience and journey need to be custom made for you.

I met Dr. Coirin at the informational seminar and he seemed to be a very nice Dr. I ask a few questions there and he answered them and didn't make me feel like I was asking a stupid question. When I went to see him for an appt. he was very nice and he knows his stuff. I've always felt like Dr's judge me because I've always been overweight. He didn't do that. I'm glad that God has given me, him to be my Dr. for this surgery. I know he will do a good job. And his staff is wonderful also. I always call for something and they never make me feel like I'm bugging them. Sonja is the best. I think if you are considering Dr. Coirin to be your surgeon for this surgery, then you don't need to look no longer. I thank God that he has given Dr. Coirin the wisdom to help people like me.(super obese) YUK!!!!! I hate the very sound of that.

he is a really nice man, very soft spoken, takes his time with you and is very comforting. I feel very confident with him as my surgeon.

I met with Dr. Coirin on the 16th of March for my consultation. He was great and his office staff is AWESOME! They are so busy, yet so on top of things. They are wonderful, especially Sonya. I am looking forward to my surgery on April 8th!

My first impression of Dr. Coirin was wonderful. I attended a siminar in Manteca and went to my first consult and met him personally. He was very warm and informative. He made me feel comfortable and answered any questions that I had. His office staff was very busy, but also very friendly. I am stillk awaiting insurance approval. All pre op testing is done. Dr. Coirin made it very clear how important the aftercare was. He stressed on all aspects of blood work, support meetings, exercise, vitamins, water and protein. He made sure that I understood that the after care was just as important if not more important than WLS. He made sure that I understood all the risks of weight loss surgery. I would rate him at the top. Alot of surgeons make you feel uncomfortable due to my size, Dr. Coirin made me feel self confident and let me make the final decision reguarding WLS

Dr. Coirin and his staff are the most wonderful group of people. His staff is always available to answer questions. They have several support groups in the area as well as a nutritionist that you meet with prior to surgery and one week after. Dr. Coirin is very patient, he never seems hurried when I have questions or concerns. Always has a smile on his face and I think he really cares about all his patients. I would recommend him to anyone thinking about WLS. You won't find anyone better.

Dr. Coirin did my son's Hernia Surgery a few years ago. When I found out he was one of my choices for WLS, I knew right away I would be in good hands. He is wonderful.

Dr. Coirin is wonderful. He is very calm and collected. His bedside manner is fantastic. He has always treated me as if I were his only patient - he does not rush you at all - he will answer any questions that you have. He is sincere and to me it feels like he wants to educate you to the best of his knowledge. You will not be let down once you meet him.

Dr. COiron was very warm and friendly the first time I met him. He takes alot of time to go over everything and answer any questions you may have. He never acts rushed or impatient. The office staff is very nice and eager to try and answer all of your questions. My over all experience thus far with Dr. C and his office has been wonderful!!!
