William J. Roe, Jr. Bariatric Center
I have not yet gone through surgery but just meeting him at his power point presentation and his one on one consultation has let me know that I have chosen wisely. He is truely awesome. Dr. Roe is remarkable. His knowledge of every aspect of this whole situation is amazing. He makes you feel at ease but does not tip toe around any issue. I recommend him to anyone who really wants the very best out of a surgeon.
I learned alot about Dr. Roe from the OH website. Went to his Power Point presentation and fell about as much in love with a doc as you can. He was so down to earth, none of that stuffy doctor mumbo jumbo. He spoke directly to you and answered all questions. Dawn was a great help too, no questions seemed to trivial for her. I am looking forward to working with them on my WLS journey. I felt so much more confident about having this surgery after I left.
Dr. Roe is a confident man who truly cares about his patients. Even though he is very attractive, you don't feel uncomfortable around him because he is so professional. His inscisions are only 3 to 4 inches long and they heal very well. Dawn got me approved on the first try so i only paid $20 dollars total for my surgery...private room and all. I would give Dr. Roe and his staff a perfect 10.
In my opinion I thought he was unique, never met a Dr. like him before
Became very positive, That is just the way he is (Again my opinion)
Helpful,sincere,caring works for the patient
Nothing really, He likes black clothing, and wears it all the time. A little different.
He is not like any other Dr. He may come off a bit different.(My Opinion)
There are meetings, patient web site, overall it is the after care that makes the surgery really work.
Yes. Sometimes it feels as though he is trying to you out of the surgery. He wants you to be sure this is what you really want.
A+ In my opinion.
Surgical competence - That he is and bedside maNNER IS PRETTY GOOD.
Went to a powerpoint presentation given by Dr. Roe and after leaving I realized that this was the right doctor for me to perform my surgery. I like the fact that he is direct and too the point and does not beat around the bush. He is very knowledgeable about WLS, and told the positives as well as all the negatives. Every time I have been to his office all of his staff are very friendly and seem to be willing to go that extra mile.
I met with Dr. Roe the first time at his PowerPoint presentation. The presentation itself is very informative all though the information was everything I had all ready read, learned and considered when researching bariatric surgery. I am going to call Monday morning to schedule my first appointment with Dr. Roe.
Well, I met with Dr. Roe and he is a little "cocky" but seems nice. He is straight forward and seems caring. His office staff is pretty typical. This is just my personal opinion.
I am no longer under his care for personal reasons.
Please, before you choose a surgeon make sure you research them in detail.. If they have an online support group, join. Go to their support groups.. Offer to talk to people privately whether in person or through email.. Ask for stories.. The good, bad and the ugly.. Talk to many different patients.. Listen to those with complications and their stories. It is so important to get all the information before making your decision. No matter how wonderful you think that particular surgeon is or seems!
I had a really good first impression of Dr. Roe. I liked how he explained the surgery in detail and how he didn't try to convince you to have surgery. If anything he tried to convince you not to have surgery if you weren't ready for a life changing event. I still really like Dr. Roe. His staff is great. He is very to the point. He is great with aftercare. I had surgery 8 monthes ago and I still go to see him every month. He clearly explained all the risks involved with gbs. He is a great surgeon. I would recommend him to anyone. I have had no complications yet since surgery. I think surgical competence is more important than bedside manner but I would prefer both. Dr. Roe's bedside manner is okay.
