Dr.Roe seems to be cool I have not yet met with him but had the priviledge to talk to him on the phone which I think is a little bit unusal but that just tells you how much he takes pride in his patence. I am going to meet withhim for the first time on Nov.9,2001 and then my surgery is scheduked for Nov.27,2001 so everyone wish me luck and please keep me inyour prayers.I would give my doctor a 10 and his office staff is great Joan has been great and Dawn alm alot of my fears THANKS once I meet with themon Friday in person I will let you know more. I finally met with Dr. Roe and his office staff they are all real friendly and very informative they are all wondrful and down to earth people I love you guys Thanks again
Dr. Roe is so cool and professional. I'm so glad that I found him. Thank God for obesityhelp.com, where I found his name. I called on a Monday afternoon and spoke with Dawn, the Program Director and she talked to me for like 20 minutes and gave me an appointment for two days later. She is great and I have confidence in her that she will get me approved! If she doesn't get the approval, you better believe that PHN will get an earful from her. She and Dr. Roe met with myself, my husband, and my bestfriend. He explained everything to us and I felt so comfortable. They both were also at the support meeting later that evening. They are really into helping you achieve your goals in any way that they or you feel will help you. I suggested to Dawn that the office set up a support group and she was more than happy to, saying that it was a good idea for the patients. That told me then and there that their goal is focused on the patient. I got personal attention from Dr. Roe, Dawn and the staff. I didn't feel like a number. I was treated with respect and empathy and that's important. The address to the support group is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rossvilleweightloss. I also met several pre and post-op patients and they were very pleased. I would rate Dr. Roe, Dawn and his staff a 10!
Dr. Roe appears to be a very confident physician..almost cocky. He has numerous years of experience of performing general surgery. Although still a babe in the WLS world he is NOT a babe to the medical/surgical profession. Dr. Roe appears to be what someone described to me as a diamond in the rough in the WLS world. He has worked w/ persons w/ obesity concerns for a number of years at the Rossville Weight Loss Ctr. diet exercise & medication.
Dr. Roe is one the new era of physicians that realize that WLS is indeed one of the many options available to the morbidly obese. He displayed a a very good sense of humor and was very patient w/allowing me to go through my many questions.
Dr. Roe has a regular nutritionist that is available to his patients pre & post op. he has a support group that meets monthly. I rate Dr. Roe as a knowledgeable & experienced surgeon that won't leave me the 10 inch scar that a very popular very busy WLS leaves all of his patients with.
His assistant handles the insurance company & coordinates and leads patients though the experience. The office was a little busy with the phone ringing constantly. Dr. Roe was distracted at times w/ the activity & took a call during my session but for the most part I had his undivided attention.
My first impression of my Surgeon was wonderful a very confident man.
I was a little nervous by the confident level.
The BEST!!!
You know I cannot think of a thing...
He is to the point.. and you must know that this will change your life..
This is a must.
Yes. somewhat.
To the point but hey its surgery...
On a scale of 1-10 he is a 15..
both are great..
Dr. Roe is a very kind man. He reviewed every step of the surgery and it's effects with me. He answered my questions and was very considerate. His office staff is also terrific. I did not feel rushed at any time. I was there for over 2.5hours. I was assured I would hear from them as soon as my surgery was approved or denied. To my surprise it was approved in 2 days!!!!!!!!
I am now waiting to schedule my surgery. Dr. Roe emphasized the importance of a supprt network and following his post op regiman. I am both excited and petrified at what the next few weeks will bring me
I was so happy to get in to see Dr Roe so quickly. I was alittle suspecious because i did get in faster than the other appointments i had made with two other local doctors. but i felt at ease once I met Dr Roe and he gave me his whole presentation he seems very nice and like he wants to help people like me. his staff is nice. Dawn is very nice and gets all the information together she seems very busy but always took time to make sure i was taken care of. within two weeks of seeing them i was approved they got my paper work out fast.
I was nervous the first time I called Dr. roe office to set up my first visit. His office manager Dawn called me back. She put me at ease and was very nice to me and took the time to talk to me. My first vist there was September 25. I met with Dawn first. Who took my medical history and asked me some questions. Dawn was very nice and understanding. I remeber while she was taking my blood pressure she looked at me and said you are a very pretty girl. That made me feel good. I met with Dr. Roe next who had a power point presentation to show me that would explain the process. Let me tell you Dr. Roe's presentation put me at ease and also explained the procedure and how obesity surgery started and how it has evolved. It showed the past procedures and why they were not done any more. Dr. Roe answered all of my question and took a lot of time with me. My appt. was at 3 I left there at 6:15. Now that shows you the amount of time he took.
