Western Bariatric, AMC Bariatric Center
When I first went to the seminar, I felt he really cared. He was very sensitive to the questions presented.
After my consult, I realized he really is concerned and he is very easy to talk to. I am alway very embarassed about my appearance.
His office was very comfortable the seating and the atmosphere
He is very adamant about us attending support groups and follow up appointments
He went over all the risks of surgery made sure we were well informed.
I will have to wait to rate him until after my surgery is complete
I think both are very important
NO negatives as of yet
When I first met my doctor he was really concerned about my weight and thought I could be a good candidate for the surgery. The office staff including the nurses also care about the patients. Anytime I wasn't sure about eating something or had questions they were always there to help. Doctor Krahn is very serious about what he does. Always wants to make sure you are taking your vitamins, that you are excersing and he ask lots of questions. I would refer anyone to have him as the surgeon because he truly does care about his patients before surgery, during surgery and any after care.
I met Dr. Krahn at one of his weight loss seminars and liked him immediately. I liked that the seminar was "obesity friendly" meaning large sturdy chairs with no arms for everyone. So far I have only had my consult with him, and while he is very strict, it's only because he wants the best for his patients! The office staff was very friendly as well making the difficult decision to have weight loss surgery a little easier!!!
My first impression of Dr Krahn was that he is a very informative, witty, and sensitive to the larger sized people. His staff is very friendly and always there to help. Dr Krahn is somewhat strict. You have to do everything by what he wants and if you dont then he will let you know that you have to comply in order to make everything work. Over all, Dr Krahn is a very supportive doctor. Dr Krahn is very upfront and makes sure that all of the risks involved in having surgery are known. So far I have only met with him about 5 times and would rate him as a 9.
my first impression of dr krahn was a dr that is human and has human feelings. he makes you feel very comfortable and at home. he has a great sense of humor and i feel he is very capable and confident in the service he provides. his office staff is very down to earth. you just feel that you are in the best hands. dr krahn is very patient and you are not rushed. i would recommend anyone to him. i had made up my mind that he would be my surgeon after attending his seminar in january and had made all provisions to make that possible. i have succeeded. because honestly i dont want just any joe blow working on me. he has an extensive background in bariatric surgery. i wanted someone i feel i can trust. and all the aftercare stories from others let me know i was making the right decision.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Krahn last May 2004. My first impression was the office. Very open, oversized but comfortable furniture. The receptionist was very warm and friendly. My first impression of Dr. was that he was very professional but in a warm way. He made me feel comfortable and able to talk about the reason I'm there etc. However, due to a miscommunication with the insurance biller and myself the whole proceedure would need to be put on hold. Well it is now June 2005 and I now have insurance to cover the lab band. I was reluctant, even though I knew I wanted Dr. Krahn to do the surgery, to contact his office due to the past year. But to my wonderful surprise, the welcomed me back with open arms. Dr.Krahn was as he was 1 year ago, caring, and concerned with my well being. He also has a P.A. now that is just as great. I am looking forward to having my surgery sometime late September, early October. The reason for the wait is the insurance makes you take a 12 week nutrition course. This is another assest of Dr. Krahns. He is attament about making sure you are truly aware of the nutrition aspects of this surgery (any of them). The does and don'ts of pre and post op instructions. I am very satisfied with him and his staff, Receptionist- Velia, Biller- Beth, and nurse- Sandy. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
When I first saw Dr Krahn, it was at one of his seminars. He was funny, kind and seemed to understand what we heavyset people are going through. He was very thorough and went over the pros and cons of each type of surgery with no favortism to a certain type. He answered all questions and concerns professionally and complete. I walked out of the seminar knowing immediatly what I wanted.
He is very strict in his rules that must be followed and his success rate is one of the best. I have all the confidence in the world in him.
The office staff is wonderful too. They are always there with a smile. Several of them are also patients and know how to put you at ease and calm any fears.
Dr Krahn was a very good doctor and I really appreciated his caring about my pain levels during my hospital stay. He checked daily that I was okay and I am pleased with the overall care I have received. I usually never have to wait more than 10 min or so when I go in for my appts and his staff is great with making sure you get all the right paperwork and tests you need in order to get the surgery asap. From first visit to surgery was about 6 mo.
When I first met Dr. Krahn and his staff I
felt very comfortable. They make sure you know what your getting into and he is very,
very thorough. I am two weeks out and had
very little problems. When I had a slight
fever I called his office Sunday night and he
called me back within 10 minutes. He also called me back the next day just to be sure I'm doing ok. That's rare!! The office is pleasant and the some of the staff had WLS and will answer any questions about their own experience. Also, when you are in the hospital, either Dr. Krahn or his PA comes in twice a day. Overall, I would say I had
a great experience.
