Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery Associates Bariatric Center
Dr keith Boone is very nice and explained everything very well to me. And he me gave information to read and a test before surgery to see if I new the risk of the surgery. the staff is very nice.I rate him a 100 0/0 great bed side manner. I had alots of scar tissue from a privious surgery and he took the time to do my surgery with out opening. I love him for that I recovered faster.rn
So far I have only seen him at the seminar I attended November 4th. He seems nice and answered all of the after seminar questions that where on my mind. I will have my appointment with his office my first in December 5th!rnrnrnI CHANGED MY SURGEON INFO BECAUSE I HAVE ONLY SEEN DR BOONE HE IS SO NICE AND MOTIVATES ME SO MUCH.
My first impression of him was good. He was fairly soft spoken and thorough. He didn't make us feel rushed and asked periodically if we had any questions. He did refer us to his office staff for the stuff that come next. I suppose that's to be expected. Surgery went very well but I haven't seen him since. His partner Dr. Higa is the one who released me and I've been seing his P.A. for all my post op visits but I like her. I was in the process of getting all my necessary evals and blood work done before my first consult with him and his office staff \"lost\" a lot of my paper work because I \"wasn't a patient yet\" A little frustrating but fortunately I had copies to re send. Also they gave me the 1 year post op blood work paper instead of the pre-op so I had to redo some of the tests and that had to come out of pocket because the insurance wouldn't pay twice. He is a very thorough surgeon and if I had to have this surgery again I would choose him again.
Dr. Higa was very friendly when I meet him for the first time. He asked me about myself...not just health stuff. He was generally interested! I'll write more once I have my surgery!
First Impression - A caring physician. Informative, asked me a lot of questions, gave me a chance to ask all my questions. Seemed to care about me as an individual.rnrnImpression change - If anything, my opinion has been elevated. He is an excellent surgeon!rnrnOffice Staff - I felt like I did a lot of their work, dealing with the insurance company. They seem hurried, did not pay attention to the details, and certainly not as professional as Dr. Boone. If I based using Dr. Boone on his office staff, I probably would have gone somewhere else. I felt they really didn't care if I had the surgery or not.rnrnWhat do I like about Dr Boone? He seems to genuinely care about you as his patient. I never felt hurried or like I was being rushed through like a head of cattle - I've felt that at some Dr. offices before.rnrnFuture Patients should know he is an excellent surgeon. I checked on all his stats. He has an excellent record - in my opinion, he is the best available.rnrnAftercare is very important to Dr. Boone. I am to follow up with him for years.rnrnDr. Boone lays all the risks there in front of you, he goes over them verbally, and sends you home with a booklet that outlines all the risks in writing.rnrnOverall, I rate Dr. Boone as the best of the best!!!rnrnBoth are great - surgical competence and bedside manner!! I highly recommend him.rn
Dr. Higa is a jokester but he is straight forward. He is very knowledgable and confident and his staff is very nice. He has a very strong emphasis on aftercare. He will monitor your progress to make sure that you are getting the most from this life change. I enjoy him as a doctor but I feel most confident about his surgical skills. He is one of the best!!
I was very impressed by my surgeon's reputation and education. He has done this surgery thousands of times and his office staff is very knowledgable. Dr. Higa travels worldwide and teaches this surgery to other surgeons. He is like a lot of surgeons and lacks a bit in bedside manner but what he lacks his staff makes up for. For me his surgical competence is far more important then his bedside manner. Dr. Higa stresses after care and is a bit stricter in some aspects then some surgeons but he has good reasons and I trust his experience to know he is trying to give me the best start. One way it was easier then many surgeons was that he does not require a long diet before surgery, only a one day liquid fast, and he does not require a bowel treatment.
My surgeon was great and the hospital was the best. I was at Fresno Heart Hospital. Private rooms and waited for nothing.
Initially not impressed, but doing excellently well now. He's nice (for a surgeon!) and rather fun.
