My original doctor was Dr. Kelly Francis and i really liked her as a physician. Because of a new job and moving to a new area (with new insurance) I had to find another doctor. Unfortunatley I have to have a revision because of a slipped band. I was referred to Dr. Higa and I have been very impressed with his credentials as well as his care and concern for my situation, especially since I was not his patient from the beginning. He is very straight forward and has a dry sense of humor that I like. Because of the concerns that i was having he scheduled my revision surgery on a Saturday, only a month from our initial consultation.

My first impression of Dr. Boone was positive. He answered all my questions, took time and explained things. Office staff was not so great just OK. The girl the you see at the end is not too friendly. I did see Dr. Boone prior to surgery but not at all after. That was kinda of a bummer. I did see his partner Dr. Higa. He is full of personality:)

Dr. Higa is a wonderful surgeon and because of his reputation I trusted him completely. ALSA is a busy office and because of this and Dr. Higa's busy schedule, I really did not ever spend much time talking with him. He is pretty cut and dry...no fluff or small talk, but the important part is that he is an incredibly competent surgeon.

He's cool, kinda jokes around in a mean sort of way. like \"dude, thats not funny\", but other than that, he's a very good doctor.

Boone was at the seminar I attended so I picked him. I really got a lot out of that seminar compared to another I had been to. Then I met Boone at my consultation yesterday and I am just so happy with my decision. He's very kind and easy to talk to. He wanted to hear my questions and made sure I understood everything. He's a family man that seems to have both surgical competence and great bedside manner.

Has been very nice and professional with both DH & I. 3 RNs in my family recommended him as the number 1 pick - The hospital staff also seemed to have a lot of respect for him. Don't expect a lot of conversation, but if you read the info that his and Dr. Higa's office provides they answer ALL questions with info. specific to their practice & procedures. VERY impressed with the office - apparently they have improved A LOT over the years because they have been prompt at returning our calls & providing information. 4 days after surgery & I feel only slightly bruised. Never any sharp or worrisome pain. When my DH goes in for surgery (3wks after mine) I am going to make sure we are clear on Dr. Boone's instructions to the hospital nursing staff so he does not have the same issues I did with catheter. Otherwise I had no issues and fully recommend Dr. Boone as a wonderful surgeon. I already have my follow up appts scheduled and with their focus on quality of life I will follow their instructions to the letter.

Dr. Higa came highly recommended by physician friends. I liked him instantly upon meeting him and his staff. He made me feel confident despite the fact that I was a high risk patient. rnrnAfter care and and follow up were emphasized and reiterated. Success is highly dependent on follow through and attending support group meetings, follow up visits, all go hand in hand with being disciplined. rnrnThis week, I attended my 18 month check up. Higa was delighted with my results and as always, gave me plenty of time to ask questions during the visit. I would recommend Dr. Higa to anyone contemplating surgery.

I had many friends who already went to Dr. Boone. So I already was educated on what a great Doctor he is, but was not prepared for what a great man he is too. He truley is a caring doctor. Very humanized. He makes sure you understand fully, the operation that you are requesting. He never talks down to you, or above your head. My first impression was very positive. Not only is he a very handsome doctor, but he is very confident. Confidence is something you want in a doctor/surgeon. His office staff was very friendly and very efficient. I also love the fact that they \"Leave no Stone Unturned.\" There is no surprises. They surgery and Aftercare is fully mapped out for you. Truley No Surprises. I was so prepared and that made my experience so great. I had a security net with him and his staff. I would rate Dr. Boone and his staff, with the highest, on whatever scale . For both his Surgical competence and bedside manner, he is great all the way around. I moved out of state and they found me a doctor to see. The doctors in West Virginia know all about Dr. Boone and Higa. They hold high regards to them also. I continue aftercare, and still reference my notes and book from Dr. Boone, and my consultations.
