Dr. Andrei is the greatest bariatric surgeon I have ever met in my entire life! I would never choose anyone else! Andy, Pam, and the rest of his staff are just as great! They build such a strong relationship with you and they treat you with so much care and really take the time to make sure that you as a patient are healthy and happy. They provide excellent support to all of their patients on their journeys. I know a few friends that were bariatric patients of Dr. Andrei's also and they felt the same way. Everyone in the office is so friendly and are willing to help in any way possible. Every day after my surgery for the first two weeks, Andy (Dr. Andrei's assistant) called to see how I was, sometimes twice a day. Pam provides excellent nutrition information and really helps you to stay eating right. I had the lapband put in twice; the first time I was having personal issues that had nothing to do with Dr. Andrei and I had to have it taken out after a few months. Dr. Andrei was pretty upset with this, but even after he took the band out, him and his staff still kept in touch and provided nutrition appointments. After a few months, I decided to have it put back in and I chose Dr. Andrei for the second time again. He wanted to send me to a surgeon in New York that could take care of me better because of my complications, but I had so much confidence in Dr. Andrei and feel so comfortable with him that I really didn't want any other surgeon to perform my surgery no matter how good they were said to be, I wanted Dr. Andrei. He expressed such gratitude and appreciation by this and it felt good to make it known how important he is to each and every one of his patients. He did my surgery almost a month ago and he has fixed the problems that I have had the first time so now I can continue on my journey. He really is excellent. If anyone is looking into bariatric surgery and haven't found a surgeon, I HIGHLY suggest going to Dr. Andrei. You won't regret it.
It's been 3 years since my surgery, I am so very pleased on the results that I've acheived and most of it has to do what I've put into getting to where I am now. Also with the help of Dr. Andrei and Pam for being there along the way - post surgery. I keep up on all my bloodwork and appointments to keep me on track with my current weight loss and I've never felt more healthier. I look forward to the support groups, always learning something new and get to share my experience with others. It's really amazing. Thank You everyone at the office for all your support and being so wonderful. You make the visits to the office very pleasing and fun....
My surgery was on January 29, 2009. I first met Dr. Andrei back in August of 2008. I am so glad that I was referred to him by my friend who had the bariatric surgery 2 yrs ago. My first impression of Dr. Andrei was that he was going to very informative, great, kind & caring doctor. The staff in the office is also all the above. I love visiting with Pam, she is so bubbly. My impression of him and the staff have not changed at all. I look forward to visiting the office on my visits, I always feel so welcomed there. I enjoy talking and listening to all the other patients, making new friends. I attend all the monthly seminars, which I enjoy as well. Before surgery, Dr. Andrei calls all his patients personally to see how you're doing and checks up on you. The day of surgery went very well, the experience was awesome (being this was my first time ever having any kind of surgery or even being in a hospital). I have experienced no probelms or issues. I had gone home two days later and between Pam and Dr. Andrei, they called me every day for the first 4 days to see how I was. He is a very caring , passionate doctor and is very thorough with his patients. The office emphasizes a lot on the after care and you need to listen and I suggest go to the seminars. I would recommend Dr. Andrei to anyone that I know who is interested in the surgery, which I already have. I rate him and the office personnel very highly. Last but not least is that I believe that these two things - surgical competence & bedside manner are both needed very much and are very important.
So, it's almost two years now since I had my weight lose surgery (gastric by-pass) and I am proud to say that I have maintained keeping off over one hundred pounds. That's not to say that has been easy, because I have to always bare in mind that bad habits can be easily restored if I am not constantly reminding my self to read dietary labels and to choose cooking over fast food options, especially on stress for days. And basically, in a nut shell, this how I pay tribute to Dr. Andrei, just knowing that he is dedicating his life to making the lives of people who struggle with weight issues an achievable goal towards better health is enough for me to want to make sure I do everything I can with my new tools for a healthier life. Dr. Andrei is the best His commitment towards patient goal satisfaction is his top priority.
DR. ANDREI IS A VERY CARING PHYSICIAN WHO WILL TAKE TIME TO GET TO KNOW EACH AND EVERY ONE OF HIS PATIENTS THEREBY UNDERSTANDING WHAT IT ENTAILS FOR INDIVIDUAL SUCCESSFUL WEIGHT LOSS GOALS. MOST IMPORTANTLY, HIS OFFICE STAFF ARE VERY DEDICATED AND VERY SUPPORTIVE, I ALWAYS FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE DURING MY VISITS. I HAVE KNOWN DR. ANDREI FOR AT LEAST FIVE YEARS AND HAVE COME TO TRUST AND DEPEND ON HIS EXPERTISE, SO THIS GOES WITHOUT SAYING, I AM CONFIDENT THAT MY FUTURE WILL BE A MUCH BRIGHTER AND HEALTHIER ONE. I THANK HIM DEARLY!!!!
Dr.Andrei is one in a million. He is dedicated to his patients. He is compassionate, understanding,and committed. His staff is nothing short of amazing too. They are attentive , kind and extremely helpful and responsive. I feel very lucky to be treated by this great group of people. I would and do highly recommend Dr.Andrei and his staff.
Dr. Andrei is terriffic. He has an incredible understanding and empathy of the struggles that obesity presents. His staff is warm, professional and appears genuinely vested in your success.I am very grateful that a friend recommended Dr.Andrei and his staff. I would absolutely do the same without hesitation or reservation.
My surgery was on 10-26-09...best decision I've ever made for myself. Dr Andrei and his staff have been there for me thoughtout my whole process and continue to monitor me. As I said before I travel an hour to visit the office and look forward to every visit. My questions are always answered in a timely manor and I have no complaints about my care since the surgery. i recommend Dr Andrei to anyone who is thinking about surgery.
At my first visit to Dr. Andrei's office, I was made to feel like I had been a longtime patient. Dr. Andrei's staff was extremely knowledgable and friendly. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Andrei. His explanation of the surgerical procedure and options were extremely thorough. Dr. Andrei fully recommends aftercare visits and support programs. I was provided daily follow-up telephone calls by Dr. Andrei for the two weeks following my surgery to monitor my at home progress. I have traveled over an hour each way to both Dr. Andrei's office and St. Barnabas Hospital and my experience was pleasant. I would highly recommend Dr. Andrei and his staff to anyone considering bariatric surgery.
Dr. Andrei is very efficient, detailed thorough physician who is extremely skilled and knowledgeable. His office staff are very helpful and always willing to answer any questions you might have regarding your surgery pre and post.
His surgical competence is excellent, but his bedside manner is somewhat reserved and I feel, patient interaction is minimal. However, his office provides great support under his direction.
HI! MY NAME IS CAROLYN AND I AM A RECIPIENT OF GASTRIC SURGERY., MY EXPERIENCE IS THAT SO FAR IT HAS JUST BEEN A GREAT EXPERIENCE TO KNOW THAT I CAN FINALLY HAVE CONTROL OVER MY MATABOLIZUM. FOR ME I FEEL LIKE I AM A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN OTHERS AND BY SAYING THAT WAS HARMONALLY OUT OF CONTROLL. THIS WAS MY PROBLEM (HARMONS). ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME IS DR. ANDREI. WONDERFUL BEDSIDE MANOR AND WONDERFUL TEAM AS WELL. IF THERE ARE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT IS THINKING OF POSSIBLE GOING TO HAVE THE PROCEDURE I SAY GO FOR IT.
It's been a 1 1/2 yrs since my sleeve and it is as if my life has just begun. I am so much more active and healthy. I can enjoy the little and I mean little things in life. I can sit in a chair at a movie theater and there is room left. My husband loves the fact that now he can wrap his arms all the way around me. I have a 15 yr old daughter who tells me that she loves the idea of being able to go into my closet and taking out whatever I have that she wants to wear. It's an awesome feeling. I actually have a self esteem now. I don't run and hide from mirrors and I love trying on clothes. I can go on and on about how amazing things have been for me since the surgery. I totally recommend it to anyone. If you are contemplating the idea come into the office and talk to Pamela. It has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for Dr. Andrei and his staff. It is because of the awesome work that they do that I feel the way I do..
I had a gastric sleeve done in July of 2011 and it has to have been the best decision I have ever made. Prior to surgery I was unable to walk a flight of steps carrying my 7 month old son. Now after 8 months and approx 80 lbs I not only can carry him up and down the stairs I carry my 3 1/2 yr old daughter and run and play with them. I am a police officer and actually feel like now I can do my job properly. I am also a good example to my 14 yr old daughter. I tell her all the time that I don't want her to have to go thru what I went thru with weight. Now we can actually exercise and train Karate together. I owe it all to God for bringing me to Dr. Andrei. The office staff, Pamela and Dr. Andrei made me feel so comfortable when I walked into this office about a year ago. It was then that I knew this surgery was going to be a life changing experience for me. Now thanks to all they have done to help me thru this process, the guys at work are constantly telling me that I have to stop losing weight. They say that I look like I am disappearing. What is also very rewarding for me is that now my husband and my parents enjoy buying me clothes as gifts because they can actually find very nice clothes that fit me.. Thanks Dr. Andrei, Pamela and everyone else at the office because this truly has been an experience for me. I feel like I have found myself all over again.

Six months post revision and still very happy with Dr Andrei and his practice.
I'm currently one week post band procedure. So far, things have gone well. Dr. Andrei is a magnificicent physician, his sense of empathy is only bettered by his surgical skill. His support staff is also comforting in this world of \"In and Out\" medicine. I would recommend this surgical group to anyone.
Dr Andrei is an excellent surgeon. I've had 2 surgeries with him so I feel I can offer a solid opinion in this area. I had heard numerous positive references of him from my co-workers and I was actually jealous that he wasn't my bariatric doctor at that time. In March 2008 I had a LapBand inserted (by another dr). Unfortunately, within 3 years, it failed and it was removed. Dr Andrei was the only dr. who would handle my LapBand revision. The first surgery I had was a hiatal hernia repair in July 2011 and I received excellent care in the hospital. It was determined that the LapBand replacement couldn't be done. Dr Andrei recommended a Gastric Sleeve which he performed in Feb 2012. I couldn't be happier! Words cannot begin to describe my gratitude to Dr Andrei. His expertise made my recovery a breeze. And his staff is great. My rule of thumb has always been: if the staff is kind, caring, and compassionate then there's an excellent chance the dr. behind them is too.
