Valeriu E. Andrei MD Bariatric Associates Bariatric Center
I meet with Dr. Andrei, Dr. Brolins partner. My first impression was totally professional. His staff is very efficient and helpful. They are also very professional. It's not a problem, but his accent is alittle hard to understand at times. All I did was ask him to repeat and then I got it. I have already refered two people over to him. Future patients should know he is caring and professional. He is very interested in aftercare. You stay on his program for two years. He has support groups, nutricianist, and staff to help. All the risks were explained as well as the complications he has run into. I would rate him very highly to anyone interested.
Dr. Andrei is actually with Dr. Robert E. Brolin in New Brunswick, NJ and performs the surgery at St. Peters. He was a very kind man - not judgmental in any way. He was thorough and explained the procedure completely. I had many questions already answered from my research here but was happy that he had even more info for me. I was very please with the consultation and believe that I will be in good hands
8/8/00 Dr. Andrei is currently working in New Brunswick NJ (in association with Dr. Brolin) and is a wonderful man with a sense of humor!! I felt very comfortable with him and his staff. He explained how the procedure is completed and asked if I had any questions. I would refer Dr. Andrei to everyone! On a scale of 1 through 10, he would be rated a 10. His specialty is performing Lap surgery at St. Peter's Hospital. Anyone interested for an appointment, be aware of the three week wait. I will update when I have the surgery completed.
First of all, on your site you have Dr Andrei listed in NY. He may still practice there, but he is also at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. I found Dr.Andrei to be very thorough. He answered all of my questions and did an extensive research of my family and medical histories. He had me see other specialists for conditions he may need assistance with post operatively. I am an RN and have a medical background and I was impressed with his knowledge and bedside manner.
His office where he sees patients is in a new building and a new staff, so it was a little unorganized. His nurse practioner is very knowledgeable and sweet. His nutritionist was very helpful in discussing the changes that I would have to make in my lifestyle, and the importance of aftercare vss. and support groups. She gave me the impression that she would be available if I had any problems.
For a successfull recovery and outcome the office staff emphasized the importance of the support group before and after surgery and follow-up care.
Dr. Andrei sends out a booklet to all his patients who schedule and appointment with him, along with a several page questionaire that is very thorough. He requests that you fill out the forms and mail them back to him before your appointment, so he has a idea about you history, etc. He then goes over things that are a concern of his and addresses those problems. He gives you an opportunity to ask questions and he answers them without delay.
I thought overall, my choice of a physician was a good one. Other than the unorganized office, my impression was favorable.
I believe that surgical competence is most important, but bedside manner is also a plus. But if I had to choose one or the other, it would be competence.
I loved Dr. Andrei(associated with St.Peters Hospital in New Brunswick,NJ. He was very thorough and empathetic and enthusiastic about our meeting.
He turned out to be even more caring pre-op and post op.
Joanna (his secretary) is very cheery and thorough. I had my papers and question answered with 24 hours. There is nothing I don't like about Dr. Andrei. he's a dream Dr.
He's married, Romanian and has a woderful bedside manner.
He, his nurse and nutritionist were very thorough and expressed the importance of follow-up visits. 3weeks is your first post oop visit, however I saw him after 1 wk for removal of a drain.Surgical risks were discussed at the first consultation and also with the nurse. Rating EXCELLENT
Both. He was a compentent surgeon and a caring physician.
