First impression was that I always thought surgeons were pompous jerks but he was one of the nicest men I have ever met. He has a very kind face and is very warm. Office staff is nice. The program is very busy and does alot of high risk people. He spent alot of time with me on the initial visit. The thing I liked the least was that the surgical residents do the daily hospital visits. I saw Dr I only once. He strongly emphasises aftercare and they have a pretty good program (I think). I believe his surgical competence is excellent and that he has taught many other local surgeons the lap procedure. I trusted him completely. I take time to research my MDs and chose the best. I rate him very highly. When I went back on my one week visit, he took my hand and looked at me and said \" The surgery went perfectly, you are going to do fine.\" It boosted my confidence. Really recommend him highly. Also love his NP Alex.

Dr. Ikramuddin was great! He evaluated me so thoroughly before the surgery. Because I was so high risk (not many colostomy patients are okayed for bariatric surgery), he really took his time and ran me through a # of tests before he would give the 'go ahead'. His NP -- Alex is WONDERFUL! As well as other nurses at the Fairview University clinic. He guided me safely through a surgery that he said was risky for me and was very pleased with the results. I am continuing to heal -- as I write this I am nearly 2 months post-op. The only growing edge I would say about Dr. Ikramuddin is that he is so rusked when seeing you for post-op visits while in the hospital. They come VERY early and that leaves you feeling you don't have time for questions. Other than that, I am so far very satisfied with my care from Dr. Ikrammudin and his staff!

Dr.I. is a very direct person but he is also informative and caring. He doesn't say things to pacify you. He seems genuinely concerned about his patients and takes time out to deal with your questions and/or concerns, even though he has lots of others to see.

Right from the beginning, I loved this man. He put me right at ease and seemed so genuinely caring. He is an excellent surgeon with a very strong commitment to his patients. He is comitted to helping his patients regain their lives back with this surgery and the very thourough after-care program that he stresses is so importment.

I had lap RNY with Dr. Ikramuddin 7/12/05.

Dr. Ikramuddin was recommended by my primary care providor. I have 100% faith in her opinion and trust him doing my surgery.

I first met Dr. Ikramuddin at the recommended information seminar. I felt that he was very professionable, and genuinely cared about his patients. At the surgical consult appt, he didn't rush me, he was very soft spoken, and put me at ease immediately. He answered every question that I had, and then went on to tell me all of the risks associated with having surgery. The morning of surgery, he came to the waiting room to see me, to assure me that everything would be ok. He is a very kind man, and very good at what he does. After I came out of the recovery room, I never seen Dr Ikramuddin again. I was then followed by his residents. I have to say though, that this wasn't a bad thing, as his residents all have a great bedside manner, are not rushed in any way, and are genuinely concerned about you. At this time I would like to give a big hats off to Dr San Woo-Pak, for all of his thoughtfulness and care. He is one of the, if not the best, resident Dr. that Dr. Ikramuddin has. He followed up with me on my way home (5 hours away from the hospital), and then he called me 2 days later. THANK YOU DR. PAK!!! His office staff were a little disorganized. His secretary sent my authorization papers to the wrong insurance company 3 times. I am from Michigan, and she kept submitting them to Minnesota. No wonder they didn't have me on file. Once she finally submitted them to the correct state, it took her 21 days to get back to me to let me know that BCBS PPO of Michigan doesn't require pre authorization, as long as you have all of the information on record if needed. (I tried to tell her this in the beginning.) All in all, I would definetly recommend Dr. Ikramuddin and his staff, as their bedside manner, and surgical competence were excellent.

He is a very nice straight forward man. i never felt that he talked down to me or judged me about my obesity. He is extreemly skilled and very busy. He emphasised that this is a tool toward weight loss and not a magic pill! I appreciate that. Many people in his office have had the surgery also, which makes me feel very comfortable with him. I haven't had surgery yet, so I can't rate him on the aftercare portion.

I first met Dr. Ikramuddin at the informational seminar. I was referred to him by a friend. I felt that he was very knowledgeable, friendly and honest. I liked hearing about his experience and how many surgeries he has performed. The office staff seems extremely busy. I had to wait over a year to even get into the informational seminar. I will update this after surgery. I have talked to and read many profiles for people who had surgery with Dr. I. I have yet to hear bad things.

My first impression was in the Seminar. He seems so sweet and as though he really cares about the patients, not how many and how quickly he can get them in and out. I like that! Linda and Donna both were very nice and informative. After care is a great emphasis from Dr. I. I would give Dr. I a 12 ou of 10... hopefullly after surgery that wont change...

I actually did not meet Dr. Ikramuddin prior to the surgery. I met his partner Dr.Todd Kellogg. I have heard MANY great things about him however. I met Dr. Ikramuddin the morning of surgery. I was first on the OR schedule and he was one hour late. But, when he did get there and I met him I was at ease. He checked on me the next day for about 2 seconds and then he was unable to be at the hospital the day i was discharged so Dr. Kellogg saw me and gave me the discharge instructions and he was "wonderful"! I had my one week post-op and again he was not there. I saw his nurse Donna. I am not confident that I will ever see him again. As far as the surgery I would give Ikramuddin a (10)! No leaks or problems at all.
