The Kane Center Bariatric Center
Dr. Kane Jr. is so polite and really interested in the best intrests of the patient
After finding a problem in my UGI, he took the time to call me himself to inform me of what was going on. I was very impressed.
The entire staff was very pleasent.
There is nothing I dislike about him.
Future pateints should know that Dr. Kane really is a great doctor and he makes sure you are well treated.
He really makes sure you understand all that is involved with the surgery and that it is a total life style change.
It is mandatory that you go to a support group after.
He was honest about not only the mortality rate but also the failure rate.
I give him a 10 out of 10, if could give him more than that I would.
Both are very impressive.
My first impression of Dr Rantis was that he was a caring person. That has not changed in the months that I have known him. His office staff is polite and courteous, and they were quite helpful. Future patients should know that if any problems arise post-op that he will see that you get the best care. Dr Rantis has an aftercare program that patients are strongly advised to participate in. He advises patients of all the risks involved in the surgery. I would rate him as very good. He is competent as a surgeon and his bedside manner is also very good. I did not haave any negative instances during my hospitalizations. (Ihad to be readmitted after my lap gastric by-pass because I was dehydrated and a pinched nerve in my neck.)
I thought that he was wonderful when I finally got to meet him. My consultation date kept being rescheduled by the office, which started to upset me a bit. I have only met him the one time so the impression is still wonderful so far. I thought that the staff that I dealt with at both Weight for Life and Dr. Guske's office were very patient and kind.
My first impression of Dr. Kane was that this could be the man to save my life. I first saw him at the seminar. He really impressed me. When I met him at my consultation, He spent the first few minutes asking me about what I wanted out of this surgery. Then he LISTENED TO ME. Most Doctors speak to you as they're heading for the door. He was there every step of the way for me. Holding my hand before we went into surgery. I felt more sure and very relaxed about the surgery. He stopped to see me everyday in the hosptital or had one of his associates stop. And they aren't bad to look at either! I think the Weight for Life program worked fantastic with these doctors. It took me 6 months from my seminar date to surgery date and well worth the wait. I am about to go in for my 6 month checkup. I have gone down 4 sizes, 70 lbs, and 39 inches in these past 6 months. I owe it all to Dr. Kane Jr. I love you Dr. Kane!!! Thank you for giving me my life back.
My first impression of Dr. Kane was he was quite the professional and that impression has not changed. Not only is he competent and courteous; he surpasses his peers with his "bedside manner". His staff is equally as attentive.
What I liked least about him was that he is so cute, it was hard to concentrate on what he was saying.
The program I went through, Weight for Life are big advocates of aftercare. They are also looking to start a weekly support group meeting.
Be prepared--Dr. Kane doesn't pull any punches with the risks of surgery. He very directly stated, "you could die".
Overall, I would rate him EXCEPTIONAL.
Dr. Kane fromthe first meeting mad me feel like he knew me all my life. Such caring and compassion. I feel more like he is my frined tham my doctor. e is so easy to talk too, I never felt like "just another patient" i always felt like his only patient.Hi office staff is awesome, they are a great support group. After care to him is very important, after your surgery he doesn't make you fell like "ok, I am done with you". he treats you with even more caring. He did fill me in completely on the risks. I would rate him on a scale of 1-10 at least a "20". His seminar that he holds for incoming patients or people just thinking about it is fantastic, it answers every question you may have. The only issue I may have is that his office hours are very limited, soit is harf to get in without taking off work, but I can deal with that.
My first impression of Dr. Guske was that he was the "One" I didnt need to look anywhere else for my surgeon. I knew he would be the best. My impression of him only grew more fondly over time. And my admiration will never go away. All the surgeons at that office are awesome. Kane Jr. Kane Sr, and Rantis. The nurse is also awesome.
I have nothing bad to say about Dr. Guske. The stupid thing says that no person can be best in all aspects and I need to say something negative but I have nothing to say that is bad. Sorry! He emphasizes after care very well. He is not one of those old fashion surgeons. They are very defensive and aggressive at that office. I love it.
His after care program isnt what I would called structured. They are laid back they let you decide what you can and can't eat. They dont force anything on you but do tell you what you can never eat again and why and what you should avoid.
I rate him wonderful he saved my life. I had no complications at all. Have lost tons of weight (no pun intended. )
His bedside manor is awesome! He talks to me on the phone not just about medicial stuff when I have called with a question. I traved 2000 miles to see him and it was well worth it . He really cares and that is so important in choosing a surgeon. Dont choose one who is just viewing you as a meal ticket or dollar signs find one who treats you like a real person. One who is kind hearted
When I first met Dr. Kane Jr. he was very professional and actually sat down and listened to my concerns about this surgery. I have heard very good things about this group and that is why I decided to go with them. After my surgery Dr. Kane came to see me and he was very helpful when answering my questions etc... I will make it a point to tell whomever is interested in this surgery to go see Dr. Kane and his group.
