Bariatric Center of Kansas City Bariatric Center
My first impression of Dr. Hoehn was WOW he is YOUNG!!!! But since I work in the Health care industry I know to not go on face value, instead I asked around about him. I asked patients, nurses who work at Shawnee Mission or use to work there, and asked other Dr.s that I know........All was good positive feedback and after meeting him, Dr. Hitchcock, Nols, and Angelique, I know that I have made the right decision for me!!!
Dr. Hoehn is ayoung dr. with a great deal of personality, good bedside manor, talks straight .he dose not talk down to you at all. his staff is really great, they not only take time to take care of you but also get to know you, you become frinds with them at once.they come to suport group with you they answer your questions immediately they are the best staff for a dr i have ever seen.
I LOVE Dr. Hoehn! He has changed my life! I searched and searched for the 'right' Doctor, and was not comfortable with anyone until I met Dr. Hoehn. I knew I wanted LAP RNY, and was cautious of Doctors who had a high ratio of LAP's that ended up being OPEN. I wanted LAP for many reasons; less time in hospital, much faster recovery time, less scarring, etc. And then when I learned that Dr. Hoehn AND Dr. Hitchcock are in all Bariatric surgery's together, I was convinced.
Dr. Hoehn is caring, attentive, and genuinely concerned for his patients and for their success. Nola, his office administrator, is awesome. Linda, his nurse, is very good and answers all my questions, Angelique is a great support, and Becky at the front desk is a hoot. She makes me laugh every time I see her.
I was also impressed with the whole 'team' approach. A Pshychologist, Nutritionist, and Physical Therapists are part of the team. There is a complete pulmonary and cardiac clearance, as well as labwork, and a gallbladder ultrasound that are all part of the process in making sure the right decisions are being made to ensure a successful surgery and post-op health. These are all required before surgery, and it gave me peace of mind knowing that I was completely checked out before undergoing surgery.
Dr. Hoehn has a very youthful appearance, that can really trick you. He is very competent, and I think possibly his 'youth' has kept him more up to date on a lot of new medical advances that have come along. I trust in him completely. He has a good sense of humor, and a great bedside manner. Any questions or concerns you have, he makes sure they are taken care of.
I love Dr Hoehn. I had my WLS surgery on July 14th 2003. Dr Hoehn was great, has a excellent bed-side manor and was very understanding of my decision to have the surgery. Dr Hoehn did an excellent job, my surgery went smoothly and I am on the loosing side, 3 months post-op and I have lost 68lbs.He has a good after care program. I would recommend Dr Hoehn to anyone along with his caring staff. Nola the office manager is very sweet and is so helpful in getting everything set up, she is a wonderful person to talk to. I have not had many encounters with the nurse Linda, she took my staples out and I have spoken with her a few times over the phone, very nice in person, didn't feel to comfortable talking to her over the phone. The staff that is in the office is also very pleasant to deal with. I have been very satisfied with the choice I have made.
Seems like a very nice person. Wish he was in network for my insurance. Since he wasn't his fee was pretty expensive.
He makes you feel very comfortable and easy to talk to. Definate A+
I had my surgery on May 27, 2003 with Dr. Stan Hoehn. He was the most wonderful surgeon. My incisions healed up real nice. He is a very caring doctor. He has an excellent bedside manner which makes it easier to recover knowing that someone truly cares about you and wants you to be successful. He comes very highly recommended from me. His aftercare program is wonderful. He is a +10 on my scale. Nola the coordinator for WLS is wonderful. She is friendly and very knowledgeable. Linda, his nurse, is very nice. Eases me from any wierd things that I think are going on. Overall, Dr. Hoehn has a great thing going on, and his practice is about helping people live the best quality of life that can be achieved with WLS.
I've met Dr. Hoehn a couple of times now and he seems very caring and sure about his program. He has a great sense of humor and I am very happy with his level of surgical skill. Although I do wish he had a few more RNY surgeries under his belt... by the time I have my surgery he should be somewhere in the low 70's. I guess that will have to do. From what I've read the learning curve for the actual RNY surgery is about 50.
I met Dr Hoehn originally at his seminar in April. He seemed very thorough and truly concerned about the health of his patients. I met him in his office for my consultation July 2, 2003 and one on one he's just as nice and helpful. Nola is wonderful and very helpful and knowledgeable. I'll keep updating as I continue this journey
