Dr. Scarborough was a very caring doctor that listened and was very thorough in explaining each step of the procedure. His staff is exceptional, you may call night or day and they respond within minutes.

I would recommend Dr. Scarborough to anyone because of his professionalism, his caring, and his staff. I would rate the total experience 98%.

I go today for my aftercare program and can not comment on that experience.

While in the hospital the only bad experience I had was the hospital not being able to find veins for procedure.

This statment is my personal impressions of my own personal experience and that I am making no statements about what other people may experience.

I like Dr. Scarborough. He explained everything very clearly and although quiet, he is very friendly. His staff is great and have been very helpful and supportive, especially Connie. I wish everyone could have as good as experience as I have. I rate Dr. Scarborough and his staff as a 10 out of 10.

6/20/05 I am now 5 weeks post-op. Dr. Scarborough continues to be wonderful. He was excited for me on my weight loss on my first postop visit. He has an outstanding pos-op support group that meets monthly. I can't say enough good about him. I think he is fabulous!
5/9/05 I am sooo disappointed. I went to the hospital as scheduled today for my surgery, eager to get on with everything, only to end up with an "undress rehearsal". I got undressed and into the bed for surgery. The nurses were about to start the IV and heparin when Connie (Dr. Scarborough's nurse)came in and stopped everything. It seems the Dr. took his wife out for Mother's Day yesterday and they both have food poisoning. I feel so bad for them, but am also so disappointed for myself. I have been rescheduled for next Monday, May 16. 5/4/05 I am scheduled for surgery on May 9. It has been a long process in getting here. First off, my FORMER insurance refused to cover anything. Unfortunately, I didn't get any encouragement from Dr. Marvin's staff when I approached them with the problem. In the meantime, I have gone through a lot of very difficult situations with my family. I changed to Dr. Terry Scarborough since I know several people at work who have used him for their surgeries and they all swear by him and have had fantasic experiences with him and his staff.I have changed insurance companies to United Healthcare and and with the help of Connie at the doctor's office, my surgery was approved in less than 2 weeks. I have had all my tests and pre-op work done and am all ready to go on Monday! I have been attending all of Dr. Scarborough's support meetings that I could while waiting for my datewith him. I really feel I am ready now and am eager to get on with my life and the new and improved, healthier me.

12/3/03 I first met with Debra when I got to the office. She is so kind and understanding and supportive. I felt perfectly at ease with her from the first moment. She took all my history and info for the insurance company. Then I met with Dr. Marvin. I am very impressed with him. He answered most of my questions before I even got to ask them... took lots of time to go over the entire procedure from start to finish and tell me what all I can expect. He was not at all rushed with me. I felt he was concerned about me and my health, this is not just a JOB for him.(I refuse to use a Dr. who treats me like I am just another number.) Everyone in the office was very helpful and friendly. I had to call back to talk to Debra after I left. She was with another patient at the time, but called me back in less than 10 min. That's sure a nice switch from getting called back after 6pm like my own doctor's office does. I am impressed with their professionalism and promtness.

These are MY personal impressions of my experience and may not be what other people experience.

I found Dr. Scarborough to be very informative. He notified me about all the risks of this procedure, and was very honest about fatalities he's dealt with resulting from surgery. His staff was also very patient after I bombarded them with questions and concerns. Overall, I am very pleased with him and his office. The only thing negative that I have to say is about one of his nurses. I was assigned nurse Monique who was initially helpful and kind (as were the rest of the staff). However, Monique changed her entire attitude and subsequently refused to even speak with me by phone after she was informed that my insurance complany wouldn't cover the procedure. I would recommend to anyone to speak with nurse Connie. When Monique claimed appealing would be pointless, Connie filed the appeal paperwork anyway. What harm could an appeal do, anyway?

Hard working surgeon with impecable credentials! Excellent office staff. Personally explained procedure and risks numerous times. Extremely candid about possible complications and current complication rate. Kind, quiet, patient and laid back. NOT pushy. I would say his surgical competence and his bedside manner are equally great!

Dr. Scarborough doesn't have much to say but I got a sence of real, true caring from him. His staff couldn't be nicer. They also seem to care about you and don't treat you as just another patient.

After attending a mandatory seminar, I was "tested" by one of his staff and asked to draw a picture of the by-pass. They make sure you really understand what is going to happen.

I don't usually make reccomendations to others, but in this case I feel comfortable telling you to go see Dr. Scarborough.

Dr. Scarbrough to me was shy, very soft spoke. But he was also very nice as well. Till this day my impression about him as not changed. he office staff is very nice and funny. the nurses are very soft ( not rough when taking you vitals.) There is really nothing to say about dr. scarbrough , other than he is very nice. Going for my post op visit, I lost 18 pounds and he was very excited for me. The hospital (Herman) offers a support group. When i first visited him he was very instructional about the surgery, he even drew me a picutre. I would rate him a 10!

My first impression of Dr. Scarborough was "wow he is really cute and he is very sweet and considerate". My impression hasn't changed, he is wonderful. The staff in his office are equally wonderful (Connie & Monique are a godsend). I honestly can't think of anything that I don't like about Dr. Scarborough or his staff. They really emphasize on aftercare programs, buddy list, wonderful support groups. Dr. Scarborough is very explicit on the risks of the surgery including having you answer a questionaire and actually have you draw a diagram of the surgery he will be performing. The entire office (MD & Staff) I would have to rate them a 10+, very competent with great bedside manners.

The first time I met Dr. Scarborough was at one of his monthly seminars. I listened intently on what he had to say but was not convinced he was the best surgeon for me until I hear testimonies from his patients. This man was put on earth to help people. He has a very carring nature. His office staff absoultly rock! They have everything down so that there are no delays, all questions get answered, and you know what to expect for each step of the way.

Dr. Scarborough is very quiet. He is willing to answer any question, even the hard ones. He thoroughly explained the risks and benefits and made sure I understood what was about to take place. I found him to be pleasant and easy to talk to.

His staff seems interested in each patient and CONSTANTLY encourage everyone to join a support group, take your medications, EAT PROTEIN FIRST, and back-off carbs!
