Texas Laparoscopic Consultants Bariatric Center
My first impression was good because, right as he walked in the office area he gave you a hand shake that made you feel welcomed.
My impression changed over time as he explained what the procedure and what kind of thing could happen. I was glad he was my doctor because he knew what he was talking about and let you know to.
His staff are the best. They know what they are doing to.
I'm not sure what I like least.
Him and staff make sure you know what you are getting into.
He does emphasize aftercare buy letting you know how important it is and what can happen if you do not take care of your self.
Yes, after the
I THOUGHT DR. SCARBOROUGH WAS A VERY NICE PERSON WHEN I FIRST MEET HIM, AND NOW I REALIZE MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF HIM WAS CORRECT. HE AND HIS OFFICE STAFF REALLY CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS AND ARE VERY KIND TO ALL. THE ONLY THING ABOUT HIM IS HE DOESN'T TALK MUCH, BECAUSE HE IS ALWAYS VERY BUSY. ANYONE COMING TO SEE HIM SHOULD KNOW THAT HE WILL ANSWER ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND MAKE YOU FEEL AT EASE, BUT DOES NOT HAVE TIME FOR IDLE CHATTING. THE AFTERCARE PROGRAM THEY HAVE ME ON IS WORKING WONDERS WITH ME. CONNIE IS IN CHARGE OF THIS PROGRAM AND IS ALWAYS AVAILIBLE TO YOU TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS AND HELP YOU THROUGH THE ROUGH TIMES. ONE SHOULD ALSO KNOW THAT DR. SCARBOROUGH WILL GO OVER WITH YOU IN GREAT DETAILS OF THE RISK OF SURGERY. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO LISTEN CAREFULLY TO WHAT HE HAS TO SAY AND FOLLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS. OVERALL, OUT OF A POSSIBLE 10, WITH 10 BEING THE GREATEST, I RATE HIM A 10. THAT IS BECAUSE WHATEVER HE MAY LACK IN PATIENT INTERVENTION, HE MORE THAN MAKES UP IN THE SKILLFULLNESS OF HIS HANDS. BUT HIS GREATEST ASSETT, IN MY OPINION, IS HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE, ALTHOUGH HE WILL ALWAYS TREAT YOU WITH TOTAL RESPECT AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS YOU MAY HAVE.
He was a very quiet, but he answered all my questions. His staff was great very helpful.
Well after my pre op visit I feel more confident in him. (not that I did not before this just I had not talked to him much). But his nurse (or right hand women) Connie was great she answered all my questions and fears. I was so glad I got to talk to her and my husband was there to hear everything she had to say. Then at the hospital they just kept going on and on about how great Dr. S was and how I was lucky to have him. So I feel really good about this. So we will see how he does lol.
I attended a seminar in Oct., 2003, and Dr. Scarborough was one of the doctors. I spoke with him afterwards, and was impressed. Upon having a consultation with him, I feel comfortable with him. He gave good information, and seemed to know his stuff. He's young, but I know he's done quite a few revisions, which is what I'll be having.
He explained the surgery, said he felt that he could still do lap RNY, even thought I've had previous surgery, and also explained the risks. I'm still comfortable with my choice for him as my surgeon.
He is very quiet. But you know he knows what he is doing.. His work is competent and I loved having him for my surgeon. I have nothing to compare him to.. but I like him.
Everything just went flawlessly. Connie Pollard is great..if you get to talk to her. She is busy, but very competent when you get to speak to her. The other office staff is very busy, but adequate. I have my first follow up in a few days but I foresee nothing but good things. I highly recommend him.
He is great! I am so glad that I have found him and his staff to work with. He made me feel very confident about my choices and is about the nicest man you will ever meet. The nurse pract. is awesome! I loved the meeting they had to go over the surgery and, they have a support group! All of his interns have been great also. I am thankful that someone had recommended him to me and that I had the chance to have my surgery with him and his team. I would recommened him to everyone I know. Sometimes you have to wait in the waiting room a little more than I would like, but in what doctors office don't you do that?? If you are still shopping around for a doctor at least go to one of their information meetings and meet him and his staff.
What was your first impression? He is very nice and explains everything to you.
How did your impression change over time? My impression of him has not changed. He is very caring and concerned for all his patients.
How would you describe his office staff? His office staff is the best. (Connie & Moniqe)
How much does he emphasize aftercare? His aftercare has been great.
How would you rate him overall? 1 to 10 with 10 being the best. I would give him a 10.
Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or both great? I would say both are great.
My first inpression of Dr. Scarborough was he seemed very nice and easy to talk with. My impression of him has not changed from the few times I seen him. I would describe his office staff as nice, very busy, alittle to busy. What I leased like about my care was I wasn't given a nutritional consult before surgery. I would suggest future patients to be more aware of what is needed for the surgery before and after care. No emphansize was done on after care. I was told after first post op office visit to return in 3 months. I feel I have no after care, I have to look else where for after care. The risk of the surgery was explained well over two visits. I rate him at a 8. both Surgical competence and bedside manner was good.
