Surgical Association of Mobile, P.A. Bariatric Center
Dr. Hannon is a down to earth physician, that always has time to answer questions.
First impression don't change they are just adapted.
Efficent, polite
My surgery was performed on Wednesday and I did not see Dr. Hannon until my 2 week visit.
His partners saw me and discharged me, I had never seen any of his partners.
He is a busy man, it takes along time to get the inital appointment with him.
Dr. Hannon biggest emphasizes on aftercare was the importance of drinking you two quarts of liquid per day.
No after care program was offered.
A very good, competent, and skilled physician.
Surgical competence
Negative outcome of the whole experience was the lack of dietary information may available at the hopital.
Dr. Lane is wonderful. He came to check on me (and his other patients) each day, in the hospital, even when he wasn't on call and when he was scheduled off. He really listens to you and is never in a hurry. A five star rating for Dr. Lane.
9/27/02 I found Dr. Forrest Ringold to be very informative and very caring. He truely believes in the procedure. His office staff is extremely helpful. He strongly emphasized aftercare and assures you that he will pester you about your water intake. There is a support group that meets monthly.
Since he is new to this area, he was very easy to get in with. It was a 3 week wait for my initial appt. Then it took insurance 3 weeks to write my letter for my surgery. It took a week to get logged in at the insurance. But, it only took 14 days to be approved. I called the dr office on the day I found out I was approved and was scheduled in 2 days for my preop appt and then for surgery in 31 days.
Dr. Lane was very informative. He looks young but that shouldn't have anything to do with his surgical ability. He first talked about the pros and cons and things that could happen. Was very upfront about all the risks. He was not in a hurry or rushed me in anyway. It started by him talking about the procedure, pros and cons, all the risks. Then I asked him questions and he answered all of them. I got nervous and forgot a few things. He made me feel comfortable in asking anything. He is very open and cares about the patient. I feel comfortable with my decision to use Dr. Lane as my surgeon. His staff is nice and friendly. I agree with a response about Dr. Lane, he doesn't smile and does have a tired look.
WHEN I MET DR HANNON I JUST THOUGHT I WAS METTING A DR. AFTER JUST TALKING TO HIM A FEW MINUTES I REALISED HE WAS DIFFERENT. I FEEL HE REALLY CARED. IM AT ALOT MORE EASE NOW. HE WAS WILLING TO ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS AND I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE HE WAS BUSTING AT THE SEEMS TRYING TO GET TO THE NEXT PATIENT. I MUST ADMIT IM USUALLY NOT MUCH ON DOCTORS,SO HE MUST BE DIFFERENT. I FEEL LIKE I GOT A GOOD ONE ANYWAYS.IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST PLEASENT DOCTORS OFFICES I EVER BEEN TO. I BEEN TO MY SHARE OF THEM TO.
I thought he was very nice and informative. The office staff overall was good, with one or two nurses that acted as if you were just a number not a person. I don't really have anything bad to say about my Doc or my experience. From the very beginning I felt comfortable with the physician decision I had made. As far as aftercare, I think he could do better. I had to ask a lot of questions that i felt should have been answered without having to ask, considering.... I feel as though the risks of surgery were well addressed and i would rate him an 8 overall...and both bedside manner and surgical competence were great.
Dr Hannon is a wonderful soft spoken man. He is very busy but he and his staff try to work for you as fast as possible on getting insurance approval.
I LOVE DR. LANE TO DEATH. HE IS SO PERSONABLE AND CARING. HE TAKES UP ALOT OF TIME WHEN HE EXPLAINS THIS SURGERY. AND THE HOSPITAL IS GREAT, EVERYONE IS VERY FRIENDLY.I THINK ANYONE IN THIS AREA SHOULD CONSIDER HIM AS HIS/HER DOCTOR.HE GIVES HIS PATIENTS VERY IMPORTANT PAPERS TO READ ONCE THEY ARE AT HOME. HE STRESSES FAMILY INVOLVEMENT.
