Surgical Association of Mobile, P.A. Bariatric Center
MY first impression of Dr Lane was, well alittle on the shakey side. But I am glad I did not base my opinion on looks. He was the most plesant, soft spoken, and caring Dr. I walked away feeling so good. I feel I am in excellent hands. He was the 3rd Dr I had seen for this particular procedure. I feel I have made the best choice.
The staff was not very good. They were very rude, acting like I was bothering them, and even after my second visit, my opinion of them has not changed.
Dr. Lane was very candid about the risk. He did not sugar coat anything, he layed it all out in black and white. I rate him a 10 so far, and don't see my opinion changing.

My first visit to Dr. Weinstein’s office imprinted the impression of cool and professional. The office is very quite. The staff not very talkative although not unfriendly. My appointment was at 10:15. I did not leave until 3:00p.m. When I met Dr. Weinstein my fears were somewhat calmed. I understand why the wait was so long. He sat with me for quite a long while. I told him that I had mounds of research. He still wanted to make sure I had all the information about what to expect and what was going to be done to me. He said that he has been doing this a long time and could tell within five minutes who would be o.k. emotionally and who would need more help. He said I would be fine but not to let that stop me if I had any questions. We were interrupted several times. This bothered me some. He managed to pick up where we left off. Being able to do this made me feel as if he were listening and hearing what I had to say. The next appointment was much better. The staff was much friendlier. Dr. Weinstein greeted me as an old friend. He stressed aftercare at this time. He said don’t worry I’m going to ride you. I will be there, you will lose this weight. I left feeling satisfied and doing the happy dance.

So far I'm very impressed with him. He called me in for a second initial meeting
to be sure that we were on "the same wave
length" and didn't even charge me for the
visit!!!
I feel much better after the second visit.
I had more detailed questions for him and
he the same for me. I feel very comfortable
with him now.
My first impression (looks only) of Dr. Lane was not a real positive one. He had dark circles under both eyes and just looked tired and washed out. I'm glad I didn't go on my first impression though! He was very patient, witty, understanding and informative. He even complimented me on my scar from my back surgery! He felt confident that I would be approved if I could get a letter from my ortho. dr. Dr. Lane talked about the pros/cons of the surgery and the risks that would come with having it. He didn't talk alot about after care, but he did stress that it was a lifestyle change and it was hard work. I was not impressed with his nurse. She had NO personality at all and made me feel very uncomfortable for even being there. After Dr. Lane was through with me he forwarded me to the insurance clerk that was very nice. She told me what I needed to provide them with and made copies of record referrals to give to my other drs. So far so good. Just hope the insurance approves!
Met with Dr. Lane on 5-16-02. Dr. Lane appears very professional and competant. He explained the surgery and answered all my questions.
I really liked him he actually looked me in the eye and i didn't see disgust in his eyes. The staff was really nice ansewered any questions i had.I liked everything about the visit and i'm glad i chose him.HE WENT over all the pro's and con's of the surgery with me and told me about after care and really showed an interst in what was best for me not just fattening his wallet. The only bad thing was i had to wait 3 months to even get in to see him.But it was worth it.
confident, explained things well, took his time with me, answered questions in detail, aleveated some fears, staff was nice, busy office, part of the Wienstien Group in Mobile, AL I am going to pre-op tests april 5th, and the surgery is on the 16th of April. Aftercare is important, and that this was a last resort, to weight loss, I have tried so hard on diets all of my life. He told me the risks of the surgery were like any other risks of major surgery. I am having a lap RNY, I liked him, and I think that his group has support meetings for "US" Will tell more soon!!!!!!
