My 1st impression of Dr. Lord was, \"Wow! How did we luck out and get him.\" Not only did he sound confident during his seminar presentation, he had amazing credentials and extensive experience to back it up. I knew immediately that he was the only surgeon I wanted to do my procedure, and I did have options. rn Over time, I came to appreciate that I was not just a bariatric patient, I was Dr. Lord's patient, and that meant a lot. My success would be his success, and with Dr. Lord, failure is not an option.rn Dr. Lord's has a nutritionist and a therapist right there in his office, so there is none of this running all over town for services that I've heard others complain about. Still, my only complaint is that office staff did not return phone calls when they said they would. This was a concern for me only when I was checking to see if my insurance papers had been submitted and approved.rn There was nothing I disliked about Dr. Lord, and I want future patients to know that he is driven to provide you with optimum care. When he says, \"I'm going to take care of you.\" He means it and he will.rn Aftercare is a biggie with Dr. Lord, so count on committing yourself to at least 5 years of it with regularly scheduled office visits. I belive Dr. Lord was quite clear about potential surgical risks.rn I found Dr. Lord to have a perfectly acceptable bedside manner, but I was won over by his surgical competence. If you are considering gastric bypass surgery, and live in the Florida Panhandle, Dr. Lord is the surgeon to choose. If you live outside the area, he's worth the trip!
I met Dr. Lord for the first time at one of his seminars. I thought his seminar was very informative and thorough. Dr. Lord has the most confidence in himself and the work he does. He makes it very clear he is the best at what he does. I found that to be so reassuring. I like his attitude about everything. He is straight up about any questions or concerns a person might have. I feel blessed to have him as the surgeon that is going to do my gastric bypass. I feel so confident in him and his capabilities that I don't have any reservations about having the surgery at all. His office staff is efficient and on the ball. They work as a team which I feel makes everything flow so easily. They do what they can to help you out. I will post more after my surgery on August 15, 2007.
Dr. Lord is an excellent choice for a Bariatric Surgeon. He knows his stuff and makes sure that his patients know their stuff as well. Every step, starting from Nutrition, insurance, to self-care and education, Dr. Lord and his staff have made an awesome job out of surgical success. I would definately recommend Dr. Lord or his associate, Dr. Freedman to anyone contemplating weight loss surgery.
My first impression of Dr. Lord was that he knows what he is doing. He was in a hurry that day, so he was a bit abrupt, but understandably so. Over time, I learned that this man deeply cares about his mission, his patients and the results that he gets. He is a very dedicated and overworked young man. I could not ask for a better office staff. You just don't find office personnel of this caliber in doctors offices anymore. The nurses on the bariatric unit were incredible! The education before, during and after has been excellent. Everyone was straightforward about instructions, risks, etc. I would give Dr. Lord and his team the very best rating a weight loss surgeon could get... for surgical competence, bedside manner, staff, etc. Excellence is truly their mission! I have finally found the time to sit down and write this. First of all I want to thank Dr. Lord and his staff SO MUCH for their help in getting me started and through the surgery. It didnt hit me until I was being rolled to the OR that the surgery was actually going to take place. I am glad that I found Dr. Lord. My recovery has been a slow one, but that is my fault. I have gone through a \"depression\" or \"loss\" so to speak in missing the food. I have had to rethink everything. So far I have only had one \"sick\" moment and do not want to go through that again. At first I was beating myself up wondering why I put myself through this. Its very very rough. Anyone thinking of having this surgery try to loose it first. Anyone trying to gain weight to have the surgery STOP and think about that. Why? If I didnt have a lot of weight to loose, I would have just stopped eating and do a diet. So far I have lost a total of 55 pounds. From September to May when I did my pre op stuff I had lost 20 lbs (didnt feel like I had) and then from the \"fasting\" to my first visit another 35 lbs. I can feel it in my face, hands and feet. If I had to do it all over again I would, but would try to loose more weight first. Thank you Dr. Lord and Staff----you guys are the BEST!!!!
My surgeon is the greatest. From the time I met him to this day. He made me feel so comfortable that I had no fear and look his last name is Lord. With the good Lord above and a Lord on this earth I had it made. God was on my side all of the way and he guided me to where I am today. After the surgery was over hs came in at least two times a day to check up on me and he is the sweetest soul that I have met. He can be so serious at times when talking to you and yet you feel this connectin with him when you look in his eyes and you see that little smirk he gives off when you throw off an out of the way comment. I told him one day in his office not to look so serious but that is his job when he was reding and finalizing everything for the surgery. But he does have a great smile. The staff is out of this world. Everyone is above and beyond their call of duty. No one hesitates when you have to call them and they keep a constant check on you at home to see how you are doing. No matter how dumb a question seems to me it is of very importance to them. You couldn't ask for a better staff. I think just knowing that they are all on top of their game and the self confidence they implode on you is so comforting and reassuring that you feel like for some reason you have known thm for a lot longer than you have, they become part of your family and it makes all the difference in the world. Dr. Lord is number l in my book along with all the other staff members.
Dr Lord is an absolute blessing! My first imperession of Dr Lord was he is confident and serious. When I met with him I was delighted by his sense of humour and concern and once again his indepth knowledge. The staff is wonderful. Jan runs the office and she is an abosolute angel. Everyone was terrific. There is not anything I dislike about my surgeon. Future patients should know that you have a surgeon who is not only highly skilled but he is passionate about what he does and I believe he really does care. It is worth the travel if you must travel. Dr Lord insist upon following you for at least 5 years after surgery providing not only aftercare but also coordinates a support group monthly. Every visit with every staff member is a reiteration of the do's and don'ts for success. Dr Lord and the staff provide you with a ton of information and encourage you to do your own research as well. Dr Lord test you for everything to ensure you are mentally and physically as prepared as you can be for this life changing event. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give Dr Lord a 10. I believe both surgical competence and bedside manner are both great but if I had to choose between the two I'll take a highly skilled surgeon anyday over a medicore surgeon that has a terrific hi how are you! In spite of the 100% positve review scare, I don't have anything negative to say. I did my research.
I first meet Dr. Lord when my wife saw him for lap-band surgery. My wife said that I would be impressed with him and I was. He is down to earth and very personable. I was very impressed with his demeanor and professionalism. I have only had one other doctor who really cared about my health and welfare. I told my wife that after she had her surgery I would schedule an appointment for a possible lap-band surgery. (I want to see had she made it through the 2 weeks of clear liquids and 2 weeks of full liquids, actually I was a scardy cat).rnWhen I started the process Dr. Lord was very throuogh in my post op work up. Nothing, and I mean nothing was left to guess. I seen a heart specialist because was ekg showed something irregular. I had blood work done three different times. Finally I was approved by my insure company for the surgery. I meet with Dr. Lord for post op instructions and was very nervious and Dr, Lord saw that. After the instructions instead of getting up and leaving he sat with me and gave me complete comfort that all be will. Dr. Lord said that \"All of my patients are very special to me and that I great care to make sure that all goes well.\"rnThis I can say, Dr. Lord meant every word of that statement. I had my surgery on 4/26/2007 and as he said, ALL WENT WELL.rnThank You Dr. Lord for all that you have done for me and my wife. I would heartly recommend Dr. Lord to anyone that is considering lap-band surgery.rnrnDonald EndressrnrnDo
I was impressed with Dr. Lord from the start and so glad he came to the Pensacola area since I've wanted this surgery for some time, but was not comfortable with another doctor who performed in the area. rnrnI have found Dr. Lord and his office staff to be helpful and friendly.rnrnIt is nice to have his staff speak to me and call me by name. rnrnI would recommend Dr. Lord to anyone who is considering WLS surgery since he has an excellent track record and a very caring heart for his patients.rnrnI only hope that as Dr. Lord's success becomes more widespread in this area that he will continue to keep his personal touch with all his patients.
