well lets see, first impression of dr. Krause was great, I love the fact that he has his seminars and sits and talks to you and makes you comfortable before he sits in a private room with you , so you go into the room with him and you already know him..
Over time my opinion of Dr. Krause got even better, he answered every question I had, even when I was nervous and didnt remember the questions I had it was like he already knew what I needed to know.. He is the BEST..
I will never forget the morning of my surgery I was a complete and total basket case,I almost walked out of the pre-op room because I am a single mom of 2 beautiful babies and they were the only thing running through my mind that morning and something happening to me and them having to go live with their loser of a father but Dr. Krause came in and calmed me down and told me everything was going to go well and not to worry but the sureness in his voice and alot of praying and the on staff pastor I flew through surgery it was a breeze..

i got in to meet dr. krause very quickly. i had to wait only 14 days. he met with me and one other woman. he was much younger then i expected him to be but he was very knowledgable. he took his time talking to us about the procedure. we never felt rushed. then he saw each of us individually. he is exactly what i was looking for in a surgeon. once he said i met all the criteria, his office called a set up a date only 8 days later. i was very impressed.

Very friendly, open to questions. I've only met him once, but so far I am impressed. his staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. He has done a considerable number of surgeries, which is very impressive. Now that I am post-op, I can say Dr. Krause is the best surgeon in the world! He truly cares about his patients and is the most responsive doctor I've ever met in my life. His first visit after surgery was not long after I was back in my room. When I had complications 2 days after surgery, he called immediately and arranged for the tests. Then he followed up to let me know the results. He was very reassuring and has only since then been the compassionate, caring man he was from the beginning. He did great work, my scars seem minimal already and considering when I was only a couple of hours post-op and people where saying, "You just had surgery?", because I looked so good, he must have done something right. His office staff is very nice but not the most responsive when it comes to getting back to you. You definitely have to keep following up with them. I have heard so many AMAZING things about Dr. Krause from many others that I have come in contact with who have had their surgery done by him and I am confident in saying I couldn't imagine any other Dr. in the U.S. doing my surgery. One thing to keep in mind is he does come off as being quiet and shy. Don't mistake that for arrogance or indifference. He really is a personable person once you get him talking.

My first impression of him was that he was a very nice person and very open and available to answer any and all of my questions.

My impressions didnt change over time. He was a great person and so down to earth and honest about everything.

His office staff is EXCELLENT. All friendly people and doing all they can to help you out. He emphasizes aftercare very strongly, and makes sure you are completely clear on everything post-op.

I would rate him overall as being the best surgeon in the nation, or at least the top 5. He's seriously a blessing to have and is completely open with all his patients and will do all he can to see you. I saw him 3 times in the hospital post-op. :)

Everyone says he looks like some TV personality, well I say they look like Dr Krause!! the most compassionate, intelligent, and caring doctor I have ever known. Those TV personalities should be so honored : ) Dr. Krause is a kind hearted soft spoken gentleman who will give you the information you need in a matter of fact way, easily understood, he will stand by your side and he will LISTEN TO YOU!! No other doctor in my lifetime has ever asked me what I thought about how I was doing or valued my opinion in my own care as much as Dr. Krause has, if all doctors treated their patients with this much respect there would not be reason for medical malpractice attorneys. He is always an open book to you, answering questions honestly, returning phone calls promptly (once he knows about them), and his bedside manner is one that all new residents and interns should be required to take a complete course in.
Now for the bad part and this isn't really bad about Dr Krause its about his office staff. Not all of his staff responds in a timely manner, for this reason I would tell you if you don't get the answer you were looking for within a reasonable time period CALL BACK!! Customer service skills are not on a high prioirty from what I can tell from being in the waiting room there (hearing the comments being made about patients that are on the phone waiting) and from being a patient there, again none of this is Dr Krauses fault, this is the office staff we are talking about. I would welcome the opportunity to better serve the patient phone calls into Dr Krauses office for the very reason that someone with some customer service skills needs to be handling their phone situation. It does make it difficult to communicate with your doctor when you have to make multiple phone calls to get in contact with him and nothing is worse than having to call after hours when the call could have been properly handled during the day. So overlook some of the office staff and go for the best doctor you will ever have in your entire life with Dr Krause!

My first impression of Dr. Krause was that he was kind, personable, detailed, and very confident in his ability to perform laprascopic surgery.

His staff was friendly and helpful. The only issue was the 2 hour wait. I consider waiting that long extremely inconsiderate.

What I like least about him is that I heard he uses residents, which I will not consent to.

Aftercare is extremely important and he feels his patient will not be successful without it.

Dr. Krause is affiliated with the Weight Loss Center through Beaumont hospital. They have an excellent program which is very structured and supportive.

He went over all the possiblities of postop complications very throughly.

Well I have only encountered his his office mannor which was good. At this point I consider him very good. I will have more info after 4-8-05.

Dr. Krause seemed very nice and knowledgeable. He came highly recommended. The only issue I had was with his staff. It took several calls in order to get them to contact my insurance and give me a surgery date. I had to explain over and over again that I was already approved to have the surgery with another surgeon, and it was just a matter of a phone call to my insurance to change that information. I finally had my insurance call them, and got a surgery date within 5 minutes of that call.

i first met Dr.Krause on 9-15-04, he seemed very laid back, he cracked jokes to loosen us up.I read where he looked like Mark Green off ER and i totally agree. His office staff seem okay i have only dealt with them so far once during my consultation. He addressed all of our concerns even insurance issues.I would advise you to arrive for your appt. at least 30- 45min early, and be prepared to stay at least 4 hours.

Jan 2005- My surgery was scheduled for 12:30pm,However Dr.Krause finished his first appt.early and i went in @12:08pm.He came to pre-op area about 11:10 i voiced my last concerns he assured me that everything would be okay and not to worry. after surgery he spoke with my husband and was very informative, during my hospital stay he and his colleagues visited(sometimes twice a day)he is very humble my hat goes off to him and staff and also my girl MICHELLE HIGH.who visited everyday(twice a day)
