My first impression of Dr.Mitchell was that he is very personable, very knowledgeable and I believe he goes the extra mile where patient care is concerned. His office staff was caring and made my experience a pleasant one. He definitley has a major aftercare program, which I appreciate. Very structured and thorough. He does talk about the risk at great lengths. As far as rating him, it is a little too soon for me, but so far, he is great! I beliece surgical competence is 1st most important quality I would want and of course it is always comforting to have a surgeon that seems to care and Dr. Mitchell does!

I met Brett first at my very first information session. Immediately I liked him. He was very knowledgeable and straight forward. I wasn't able to have my surgery because of insurance reasons but didn't give up hope. Two years later my insurance started covering the surgery so I went for another Patient Information class and met Dr. Mitchell. I was impressed with him as well. When I met him in the office he was very caring and understanding of my needs. He explained what he thought was best for me and answered all my questions. He also assured me that I would be okay because I was terrified of being put to sleep. LOL!! He has a great bedside manner. Both Brett and Dr. M are great. Brett has taken great care of me since the surgery.

My first impression of Dr Mitchell? Before he even opened his mouth to talk, I sensed compassion. rnrnMy impression never changed, only added. He is the only surgeon I have ever met that truly cares about his patients.rnrnHis office staff is fantastic and quick to assist and very comforting.rnrnIf there was something that I least like, it's that he's so popular that he's spread thin. I almost feel protective about him, as if no one else can possible be better than Dr MitchellrnrnFuture patients should know that he's honest, upfront, kind, compassionate and his PA Brett is AWESOME and tells it like it is. They are very upfront about the risks and even explain in detail what they do, down to (in my case) when I had to loose weight because my abdomen wall was too thick. The showed me/ told me that when they put the air tube in to inflate so they can get to the stomach, there wouldn't be enough room to work with. rnAlso, future patients should know that Dr Mitchell will do EVERYTHING in his power on a Ruen Y, to do it lap. He goes beyond and keeps trying even if it means the surgery takes longer.rnrnAftercare? When you first become a patient and start up he has you sign an agreement that also covers aftercare of what he expects from you. Your signing this agreement says you will do what he requests of you. There is a lot of care that goes into the aftercare with this office.rnrnDr Mitchell and his PA Brett's surgical competence are just impressive. I'd like to give an example of bedside manner. I had a complication with my G-tube (it came out of the stomach). I didn't know at the time and was in the ER withint 5 days of being released from post op. It's 3am in the morning and rather than having the Doctor on call or Surgeon on call (which their was one), Dr. Mitchell came up to the ER at 3am with bloodshot eyes and all JUST to tell me what he thought the problem was based on the CT scan and what we were going to do. At 7am, I had been admitted back into the hostpial and was in a room on ISU ward waiting for a bariatric room to open up. There was Dr. Mitchell, only 4 hours later, back up at the hospital with me. No the Surgeon on call, not the Doctor on call but both Brett and Dr. Mitchell (on a gorgeous Saturday morning)rn

Dr. Mitchell & his PA Brett Gordon are both absolutely phoenomenol. They are both approachable & always willing to help in any way that they can. They NEVER discourage any question - no matter how silly you may feel it is. He even has his own Yahoo group just especially for his patients so that they can talk with other people who have gotten the same information, because as we know - every surgeon is different. rnrnI highly recommend him. He is AWESOME!

I am very happy with Dr. Mitchell and his team. He is very friendly and he makes you feel very comfortable when you are with him. He doesn't talk down to you because of your size...he treats you like a person! He is very detailed and wants you to understand what you are getting into!

My first impression of Dr. Mitchell was that I was very pleased. He is quite personable with a great personality. Seems to be very concerned with my mental as well as physical well-being. The staff at the bariatric center were all wonderful. The PA, Brett, is straight-to-the-point and encouraging. He is very well trained.

My first meeting with Dr Mitchell was at an information seminar. The important aspect for me was a comfort level with him as a doctor and with his approach to the weight loss surgeries. Dr Mitchell emphasizes an extreme importance on the multiple diet stages, vitamin necessities and follow up appointments that are needed.rnrnDr Mitchell and his staff provide you with everything you will need in order to be prepared for this journey.

I felt that Dr. Mitchell really cared, I liked him right away. THe office staff was cool when they answered the phone but if you leave a message they will call you right back. When I had appointments I was seen right away and that impressed me alot..Doctors are so busy that they are usually running behind but I havent had a problem. Dr. Mitch really wants you to understand after care Its a big part of his program. over all I would rate him as a 10. I told him not to make any hoilday plans for memorial day because I need him in town after my surgery and he was like He wouldnt live me for some fun in the sun.. I like him alot. I think i choose the best doctor. Will let ya know how surgery day goes.

Dr Mitchell and his staff are great. He is very courteous and has a great bedside manner. He is very seroius about what he does and expects his patients to take this seriously also. No smoking, follow his program, attend support groups and follow up visits for the rest of your life. He is very straight forward about the risks involved. His surgical competence is excellent. I would not have let anyone else do this surgery on me except Dr Kenneth Mitchell. He requires many pre-op tests to make sure you can handle this surgery medically and psychologically. He requires you have a blake drain(JP)(2 weeks) and a g-tube(4 weeks) in after surgery. Many doctors do not require this but he feels it is for your own safety.
