Dr. Titus Duncan was my surgeon. He is very professional and I feel he sincerely cares about each patient. His office staff has always been very friendly, fast and knowledgable. Because of the demand for this surgery, it is not likely to get an appointment / consult right away. I called in June and my first consult was September 19th. My actual surgery was not until March 31st -- patience and persistance is key for the person who is serious about getting this surgery. I was educationed on all aspects of this surgery -- The support group is also a great help with any and all questions. There you will learn the good, bad and ugly from the post-op patients that attend the group. Overall, I give Dr. Duncan and his entire staff an A++. They gave me a new lease on life and for that I will be forever grateful!

My consultation is schedule for 1/30 and I am excited and extremly ANXIOUS. I've done my research on Dr. Burrowes and my main concern is my high bmi.
***I met with Dr. Burrowes and he has placed my mind at ease, he is extremely easy to talk to and seems to care about patients all around and what type of long term expectations I should have. My only concern for the office would be they need a receptionist (a college student) someone to help with the forms and paperwork. Also might save some time if they allowed people to view video in groups. But I am excited about my doctor/patient relationship with him and his staff

Dr. Titus Duncan is my new surgeon and he has excellent qualifications and seemed to care about his patients pre and post op. The staff seemed extremely busy but still helpful. Just be prepared for a longer process than other Atl surgeons, it takes 2-3 months to get the 1st consultation and about 4-5 months to surgery after approval.

I met Dr. Duncan at my pre-op visit on 4-10-03, and VERY impressed. He made me feel very comfortable, and very pleased in choosing him as my surgeon. He made me feel so at ease about the whole process. His employees are super nice, and made the whole pre-op process very pleasent. He was very informative about the aftercare process, and had a nutritionist, and an exercise physiologist talk to us as well. He was also very informative on the risks associated with the procedure, but even with the risks, I am very pleased to have him as my surgeon. I know I have definately made the right choice. One thing that I want to say that I had gained 6 pounds, and was extremely worried about him cancelling the surgery due to the weight gain bercause we are told at the initial visit that he would cancel us if we had gained weight, but he was very understanding about the gain, and just wanted to know why I had gained a few pounds. He was excellant!!!

I have not yet met Dr. Duncan this go round. I met him several years ago for another problem. Dr. Duncan gained my confidence then (I was a tender age of 21) and I was more than delighted when I found out he perfomed this type surgery. I remember him to be a easy person to talk to. I am glad to have him in my corner for this journey.

Dr. Duncan is the BEST in the business as far as performing the surgery. He has an excellent personality and bedside manner. The problem I had (and still have), is that he is so good that he is too busy to be available to you after the surgery. 3 weeks after surgery I was hospitalized for 6 days due to an incision site infection. I never saw Dr. Duncan, only one of his associates whom I had never even heard the name of before this time. Then, an umbilical hernia which had been repaired at the time of my by-pass had to be re-done because it had broken loose. Again, it was not done by Dr. Duncan, another one of his associates performed the surgery. 2 days later, I was again hospitalized for infection in that site. I went in on a Wednesday and came home the following Tuesday. I saw Dr. Duncan one time while I was in the hospital - and that was after me calling his office and requesting that he please stop in when he did the rounds for his current by-pass patients. When he did stop in, there were 2 or 3 other people with him and I still didn't get any answers to my questions. I am having pains that are on the left side and all the doctors are addressing is the umbilical hernia repair that I just had. The hernia was on the right side and these pains are on the extreme left - where the by-pass was performed. Maybe it is just me but I feel like Dr. Duncan does a jam-up surgery and then thats it as far as he is concerned. I hope that the reality is that he is just not aware of exactly what is going on with his patients. I would hope that if I were in his position - I would follow up with any patient that had ANY problems immediately following surgery. I still feel that as a surgeon, you would have to search far and wide to find one better than him as far as performing the surgery.

I have not had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Duncan as of yet, but if his office staff is any indication, I have made the perfect choice! I can not believe how positive and upbeat they are--especially considering the volume of patients that come through there. They have a lot going on, but yet they manage to remain professional. I love it. My pre-op visit with Dr. Duncan is June 12. That's when I will meet him (if not before). I really want my date moved up if possible. In the meantime, I will work on getting my clearances so that I can be ready in a day's notice!!

03/27/03--Finally got to meet the man behind the rep! If I had any doubts before, they were totally erased by the meeting with Dr. Duncan at pre-op. He was very thorough in explaining the procedure itself and was honest about the risks associated with it. Yet through all this he managed to maintain a sense of humor. That always puts me at ease. :-) I really feel like I'm ready now. Dr. Duncan is the best and I truly feel that I made the very best choice is picking him as my surgeon.

I first met Dr. Duncan yesterday at my pre-op appointment. What a doll! I was very nervous at the beginning of the week but after meeting with him I feel very relieved and feel that I am in good hands. His office staff is nice and helpful. My surgery is one week from today (on 4-11)and I am very excited.

I really like Dr. Duncan. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is very thorough. I thought I knew just about everything about Weight Loss Surgery. When I went for my pre-op I learned a whole lot more about the procedure and expectations from Dr. Duncan. The time spent with him made me feel more comfortable with my decision and now I'm not as anxious as I was. I can't wait to get thru the surgery and get to "the other side" as many people have said. As far as his staff they were great especially Karen Brown
and Joyce. The only negative comment I have was that the pre-op took over 8 hrs to complete as they do them in groups of 12. It was way to long of a day!

I was very impressed with Dr Duncan. He put you at ease as soon as he walks in the door. His staff is very nice and very helpful. Dr Duncan makes you smile and he has an upbeat personality. Wonderful bedside manner. We talked to a nutritionist and a staff member who is head of their exercise program before we ever met with Dr Duncan. Dr Duncan stressed the importance of aftercare. He sees you in two weeks one month three months six months and then once a year after that. So far I am pleased with him and his staff.
