The staff at the hospital was absolutely great! My nurses through my stay were Monica and Charlene and they were REAL SWEETHEARTS , if I had a concern the would listen to me and explain. Dr. Sosa came by to see me a few times, he was great. His surgical coordinatornancy was great, she came to me pre-op and re-explained the whol procedure, and I swear she was at my bed side while I was in recovery. All in all I couldnt have asked for better. The Beds were comfortable (even the non-bariatric bed was comfey) I have a follow up appointment with him on Monday and with the Nut. also. I chose this surgeon for his thorough after care program because I know that after care is a key to success.

An incredible surgeon with a keen sense of pride in his work. A gifted man who still approaches each patient with a sense of compassion. He has chosen a good team to support him and his medical administrators and staff provide courteous and conscientious care. His approach is a holistic approach and I strongly encourage anyone using Dr. Sosa to take the whole package that includes referral to an associated nutritionist and exercise therapist, that follow his guidelines for post-operative care.

Dr. Sosa is a wwarm, friendly person, with great knowledge of Bariatric surgery.he takes you step by step through the entire process from beginning to end.and is on call 24/7.

'Dr. Sosa is great! He has a great disposition

Dr. Sosa is crazy. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. He loves to joke and make comments that make you go "I cannot believe he just said that.." but also he can be super serious. When I was laying in pre-op and recovery, I had several nurses and staff members read my chart and say "You have an excellent surgeon.". He is a very good doctor and I, along with his other patients, are walking proof. His office in Hialeah is brand new and very clean, but the parking situation is limited. When I go to his office, Dr. Sosa is always busy, he is very sought-after. He does answer your questions and takes your surgery and recovery very seriously though which is good. He always attends the support group to be with his patients every month to answer questions and offer help as well. Its nice to see an Doctor actually follow through to the other part of the surgery. His staff is very pleasant and attentive. I am very happy I chose his clinic. From what I hear, he is the only surgeon who actually owns his own gym for his post-ops. When you self-pay like I did, the gym, vitamins, and nutritional consultant are free for the first year. The windows to the gym are heavily tinted so you dont have to worry about people staring at you trying to exercise. And also, all his members are Sosa patients!

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. SOSA WAS VERY PLEASANT. I FELT COMFORTABLE WITH HIM AND THE KNOWLEDGE THAT HE GIVES OUT MADE MY DESICION TO HAVE THE SURGERY EASIER. I MUST SAY THAT HIS OFFICE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND MAKE THE VISIT EASIER. DR. SOSA DOES NOT DO THE SURGERY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A AFTERCARE PROGREM SET UP FOR YOURSELF. I BELIEVE THAT WITH THIS REQUEST OF THE AFTERCARE IS BEYOND IMPORTANT FOR YOU AND THE DR. I WOULD DEF. ADVISE PEOPLE TO USE DR. SOSA IF THEY ARE THINKING OF HAVING THIS SURGERY.

I met Dr. Sosa at an informational meeting. He was personable, well informed, honest about the surgery and the risks.
The office staff is helpful, busy, Yanet is great, she has had the surgery and knows how to do her job so she can help form all sides.
He is straight to the point. Answered my questions. I had done a ton of research prior to selecting him and going to the consult. I was ready to start the process and he didn't offer more than I asked.
aftercare is huge. No surgery unless you present a "contract" from a gym, or join his (as a cash patient it's included), nutrition f/u is also included and stressed. He has you see the personal trainers and nutritionists.
Dr. Sosa detailed the risks in a general way and then went through his own personal stats (4 deaths and 20 something complications)in incredible detail. He wants you to know what may happen, however unlikely.
Overall rating an 8-9.
Dr. Sosa's office was great from a cash pay point of view. Yanet arranged the PCP and psych, and the hospital registration. the psych guy was a joke (do you know about the surgery, have you ever been to a psych before, were those issues resolved, thank you for coming) and the PCP, although very nice only took blood and my blood pressure. thankfully, I am in pretty good health for being obese (no HTN, diabetes, etc.) But I felt "glossed over" or "run through" by the PCP and psych. Like just a routine clearance, not really "checking me out".
Of course, these are just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements about what other people may experience.
