I attended a seminar for the 1st time a few weeks ago, after much research on Dr. Sosa. He came highly recommended from a former patient, who is a good friend, and after attending the seminar, I did not find a reason to look any further. Dr. Sosa was very thorough in explaining the surgery, pre & post, what to expect & what the complications could be. I feel he is very confident & knowleagable, as well as sensitive to patient needs. Dr. Sosa has special shakes he has formulated for aftercare, as well as vitamins & the staff was very helpful & knowleagable as well.

I HAD THE ROUX-N-Y IN 2001 BY DR. SOSA. I WAS OVER 250 LBS. WITH THAT YEAR I LOST OVER 100 LBS. 8 YEARS LATER AND I'M STILL AT 139 LBS. IT HARD AT FIRST NOT EATING LARGE POTIONS OR SUGAR, BUT THEN IT WAS EASY. DR SOSA IS A BRILLIANT SURGEON AND THEN I WORKED AS HIS BARIATRIC COORDINATOR UNTIL I MOVED NORTH TO PALM BEACH AND I WISH I HAD STAYED WITH HIM IN HIALEAH. I DO MISS WORKING WITH HIM, BECAUSE IS JUST SUCH A WONDER FFRIEND, MAN & SURGEON. IWATHED HIM ON TV ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND WAS VERY HAPPY TO SEE HOW HE LOOKED & SPOKE.rnrnOVERALL I WOULD RATE A 10+rnrnCYNTHIA PASCUAL, R.N.

Today, I meet Jorge Sosa the second time. I went to a seminar about 2 weeks ago. It was very educational and the previous patient gave thier testimony. Which I thought was wonderful and inspiring. I could have just picture myself up there. I know it will happen one day. Dr.Sosa was very stricted on exercising. He really made a overall difference in me. When I first met Dr. Sosa, I felt a little dissapointed because he is not a social person and doesn't like to speak too much. However, he is very professional and has a lot of experience as a bariatric surgeon. I recommend him to anyone that needs a gastric bypass surgeon. At my pre-op conference I was explained everything about my surgery including risks. Dr. Sosa also has an afterare program and the nutritionists help us a lot. They offer private scheduled conferences to adjust the diet according to our needs. They also have support group conferences on Thursdays at Palmetto Hospital, in English and Spanish. His office staff is pretty good, specially Lety, his secretary, who has been an angel to me! Just two days before my surgery, my primary doctor decided not to sign my clearance for surgery. I was desesperated, called my Pastor and prayed and thanks God, Lety was able to find a doctor to review my pre-op tests and sign my clearance, and tomorrow I'll be two weeks post-op. I lost 21 lbs the first week and I feel so light and happy that I recommed the surgery to everybody who needs it.

Dr.Sosa was amazing! I've had my surgery a year ago and have lost a total of 120 pounds. I couldn't be happier!rnAny time I ever had a question I called the office and his staff helped me right away with any questions I had.rnIf I have to do this surgery again today I will do it 100 percent without even thinking about it. He was amazing throughout my whole entire process. I'm very Thankful that he was my doctor! I recommend him to everyone!

He is very knowledgeable and attentive. I have only spoken to him once so far, so my opinion has not changed. His staff is great and Leti, the surgical coordinator is AMAZING!!! She is extremely kind, understanding, helpful, and friendly. What I least like about Dr. Sosa is that he does not talk very much, however that is just my opinion since I am so talkative and social, I would have liked a bit more interaction. If you want to know anything you have to ask, because he did not voluntarily offer any information when I went to see him and at that time I really didn't have any questions since We were just trying to see if surgery was even a possibility for me. However, afterwards, his assistant, Leti has been FABULOUS about getting any and all my questions answered. He Highly emphasizes aftercare and has a very structured program which includes seminars, support group meetings, nutritionist follow-ups, and a fitness center. The risks of surgery were not personally discussed, they are advised in the seminar one must attend, and they were very honest about the risks. Plus you are given a paper discussing the risks two more times before surgery. overall I believe he is a very competent surgeon and very good at what he does. Surgical competence is far better tahm bedside manner. He is a PHENOMENAL surgeon, but in my opinion does not really say much.

Now in my own words I think that Dr. Sosa a good physician all around i have heard nothing but good things about him. and working at the same hospital where he does i get a chance to hear the good the bad and the ugly. when i first went to his seminar i was very impressed with him in general he seem very down to earth. his seminar was funny and serious at the same time he spoke about the good and the bad he spoke success and complications. I feel really confortable with him as my doctor.

My first impression of him was that he was a no nonsense type of guy. I like that. He did not sugar coast anything to make himself look good either. I feel that he and his staff really care about me as a whole person, and not someone who is just morbidly obese. He does this by really stress the importance of aftercare by him, eating right , and joining a gym. Hats off Dr. Sosa!

Dr. Sosa was definitely very firm and sincere. I never thought that he was trying to sugar coat any type of information. His office staff was friendly, especially the Insurance Coordinator, and his Assistant. She definitely made me feel very special, and was extremely friend. There isn't really much that I can say negative about Dr. Sosa. I definitely will refer anyone that is thinking about having bariatric surgery to Dr. Sosa. I was actually referred by three previous patients to him, so I definitely will continue the chain. Dr. Sosa has an extremely strict after care program. Even though its tough, I know that in the long run it will pay off. Plus, I haven't had ANY complications. I definitely will rate Dr. Sosa a 10, and both sides pre-op and post-op aftercare is amazing.
