I decided that the DS was the best surgery for me and that I was going to have it done in Mexico. I only had 2 REAL options for DS in Mexico in my mind, Dr. Aceves and Dr. Ungson. I was hoping to have both of them as my surgeon as I knew they sometimes worked together. I had surgery with Dr Ungson in Mexicali . He removed my band and did my DS in one procedure. I have not had any problems and find the DS a better choice of surgery. I really cannot say enough good things about Dr Ungson, he is a very skilled surgeon. From start to finish my experience was a very good one, I have only but positive things to say about the entire team that took care of me in Mexicali. The staff warm and helpful, Dr. Campos, Yolanda, Karla, Dr Beltran, everyone was helpful and attentive. If you are self pay like I was go with the best!

I had a VSG with Dr Ungson and found him to be a very caring and nice man. I highly recommend him for anyone considering weight loss surgery.
I had a lap band for 3 years, was not very successful with it and started having problems until I had to have it removed last year. The surgery went perfectly fine , he is an excellent surgeon and I know I will succeed with new tool! I immediately knew I had made the right choice of surgeon , so knowledgeable and patient with all my questions, the hospital was spotless and really the entire staff at Mexicali Bariatric Center far exceeded my expectations!

Dr. Wilhelmy is an incredible surgeon who stepped up to the plate in a time of crisis. I'm thrilled with the results of his work, and I'm very blessed that he was available during my visit. Best Surgical Experience EVER. I found Mexicali Bariatric Center through 2 of my friends that had surgery there before I did and looked really really good. I scheduled my surgery and heard about the tragedy just a few short days before my surgery date. I immediately called my friends to ask for advice. I explained what had happened and what the plan for my new surgeon was. Neither of them had heard the news about Dr. Aceves yet, I hated to give them the bad news.
They both assured me that Mexicali Bariatrics was still the best place to have my sleeve. They did not hesitate a minute! They had both been there on separate occasions and were confident that the rest of the medical team along with the "new" dr would do an excellent job. They were right! Dr Wilhelmy is not new at all, he has been at Almater hospital doing WLS for more than 10 years and had worked with Dr. Aceves on several occasions. The entire experience was like non I have ever had in the US. Doctors visiting me 2-3 times a day at least, the nurses were very attentive, the hospital is the cleanest I have ever seen and sadly I work in a medical related area and have visited many hospitals here.
I live close enough that I will go back for my 3 month check up . Thank you Dr. Wilhelmi, Dr Campos, Yolanda, Nina, Ernesto and everyone who helped me along the way.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Wilhemy and his team. My experiences at the Mexicali Baratric Center where by far the best medical experience I have had. The doctors spent time with me, the hospital is spotless and the nursing staff very responsive.
If you are researching weight loss surgery look no further.

My experience with Dr. Campos was amazing! I felt like he genuinely cared about my health and was able to answer any questions that I had about getting the Lap-Band. He was so encouraging and supportive throughout my entire stay at the bariatric center, as were all of the staff that worked there. I could tell Dr. Campos is intelligent and very skilled at what he does. I would recommend him to anyone looking for weight-loss surgery!

Dr. Beltran, along with all the other wonderful staff at the bariatric center (Dr. Campos, Nina, Karla etc.), really made my experience getting the Lap-Band far better than I could have ever anticipated. Dr. Beltran explained the procedure step by step and each of the other providers also met individually with me to explain their role, which really made me feel at ease about my decision to get a Lap-Band. I felt well-informed and had complete confidence in their ability to perform the surgery. The facility was clean and up-to-date; all of the staff were friendly and caring, I felt that my health was a genuine concern of theirs. I would recommend Dr. Beltran to anyone considering weight-loss surgery.

Hi, my name is John, and I had VSG surgery on June 23. My surgeon was Dr. Beltran with Dr. Campos (also a sleeve patient) handling the pre-op. From beginning to end, I had a fantastic experience with very little pain; I had some in the recovery room, but an IV of Demerol or something like it fixed that. The whole team were extremely friendly and professional. I'm not kidding. Having surgery can be a nervous situation and I appreciated their attention to detail greatly. I'm back home recovering, walking some, and feel almost completely normal. Surprisingly, I'm not hungry (even after more than a week), and I'm looking forward to the next semi-liquid phase, which is cream soups...so stoked about that. I got my fluoroscopy CD where they show you with barium that your new banana tummy is 80 % smaller with no leaks, and I'm going to see my GP when I return to work. I'm totally excited about what comes next and would recommend Dr. Beltran and staff to anyone considering VSG in Mexico.

I had the OBALON Balloon placed with Dr. Campos 3 weeks ago. It was a very easy process from the time I got there and left a few hours later. The doctor explained everything in great detail and made sure I understood what was gong to happen and what I had to do to in order to be successful. I followed the doctor’s indications and I did not experience any pain or reflux afterwards. The OBALON gives me a “prolong satiety” after each meal which helps me make healthy ( portion control ) choices in my daily diet. I lost 5 lbs the first week, 2 lbs the second week and 2 lbs the third . I would recommend the Intragastric Balloon and Dr. Campos ( wonderful, experienced doctor) to anyone who has an overweight problem and has previously failed weight loss attempts by dieting!! My goal is to lose 30 lbs. in the 3-4 months with the balloon, I will update later.

My one year anniversary!!!!!!! just want to thank Dr.Aceves and Dr. Beltran for giving me my life back!!!!!!
