McLaren Health Care Bariatric Services Bariatric Center
Dr.Pesta is a wonderful Surgeon,he is there when you need to talk or just for a quistion could not ask for more he is top notch would have him do all my surgery's if needed.
My first impression of Dr. Dabideen was, wow he is real busy and hurried along, but covered everything. Made sure to ask over and over if I had any questions and when I couldn't think of any he would talk more about the surgery. I felt my first appointment with him was rushed because I was the last one and they were waiting for me to get to the next part of the appointment. NOW, after surgery I think Dr. Dabideen saved my life, he has to be an angel sent here from god to do this special job he does. I couldn't thank him enough when he would come in to check on me in the hospital. He is so very nice, but still a busy man, but given his job and the increase of bariatric surgeries they are now performing, yes he will be busy but he is still an angel in my eyes. THANK YOU DR. DABIDEEN!
I have no complaints about Dr. Pesta or his staff. He will take all the time you need when you're in to see him and is very thorough with his answers. You get all the information you'll ever need before and after the surgery. There should be no surprises after meeting with him before the surgery. I would highly recommend him to anybody. His staff is equally as excellent as him. They trully treat you as friends rather than just another patient. I have no regrets using Dr. Pesta or his facility.
a sweet, young-looking guy who does a fantastic job!
Hmm usually I have lots to say regarding meeing new dr's..but not this time. I felt a problem arose bc 1.Dr Dabideen was in a Hurry and rushed..2.I have a problem with memory and understanding at times. Made worse when I feel Im being rushed. 3. I had been up over 21 hrs(bc of work) by the time I saw him. I was tired and cranky. So did the visit go well.. in my mind no. But I do not doubt his abilities nor his experience as a surgeron. I will stick with him. My whole experience for the first consult was not good..starting from stepping into the waiting room to it being completely full, to being forgotten by the receptionist..etc
I was there to long..and I do have a problem with the so called White Coat anzeity..I dont like place with lots of people either. Just makes me tense and anxious. Great patient I am arent I..:)
Dr Dabideen explained everything regarding the surgery and what could occur and what we would need to do after in our lives. He did it so well in fact it scared the #@!% out of me. Took me 4 days to realise this was really no different then the Hyst/w BSO I had two years ago. Possible Complications I mean. That I would go forth if insurance approved said surgery.
Over all..Id reccomend people to Dr. Dabideen and from what I have heard from others patients and staff, I have no doubt he is one of the top surgeons in Michigan.
My first impression was HE'S SO YOUNG.
My thoughts are that younger Doctors usually know the better technology. That's why I choose him. Dr. Marshall assisted with the surgery. He is more experienced so I wasn't worried about anything. They are both great.
Everyone at the Liv-Lite program is great too.
I could not say nicer things about Dr. Carl Pesta who works out of Bi-County Hospital in Warren, Michigan. Dr. Keith Marshall assisted and I would have pleased with either one of them. I feel they truly concerned about the patient and you get to know them on a personal basis. I appreciated the fact that the hospital was small and felt I got personal attention. The staff at his personal office has been extremely helpful. As far as the Liv-Lite Center goes (Pat Purdy and Polly) will push things through for insurance approval and work with you to get it approved. Whenever you move to another step in food choices they are availabe for any questions. After care is important and I had to see Dr. Pesta monthly for three months and will have blood work done and then he does not need to see me for another three months. I would rate his bedside manner a 10. Actually any rating for any of the above individuals would be a 10+. I could not be happier.
My first impression of Dr. Carl Pesta was, I have shoe older than this man.(Ladies, he is FINE, but married) He is great. I have to say one thing, he never rushed me out of his office when I visited and I like to talk. I know I have tons of questions. After, I had my surgery, I was not in any pain, so I thought he didn't do it right. (Yes, I told him) Dr. Pesta wanted to make sure I was please, so he told me, he will order xrays to show me that the surgery worked. Keep in mind, I have lost over 50 lbs in 2 1/2 months.
Dr. Marshall. I am in love with that man. Listen to his patient. Answer any questions without any bullsh*t. Good sense of humor. One thing I would like to say to Dr. Marshall... "LOSS THE GUM WHEN YOU ARE TALKING" and TALK LOUDER." I go to the support group meeting just to see him.
Both doctor don't care if you call them at any time.
Both have great bedside manner. In fact, Dr. Marshall rubbed my back after surgery. Could you ask for anything more. Both doctors seems to love what they are doing and it not all about the dollars. Their office staff is great.
I have never met Dr. Ledgerwood but on my first call I was surpized to find out that she will not operate on people that are over 400lbs. due to "to technical difficult"
This truly pee'd me off seeing that I weight 445lbs. Her staff told me to go on a 800 calorie diet till I reached her desirerd weight. This is WHY I want to get the surgery. I'm sorry if I have offended some one else that has had good results with her but I call this discrimination. Now in her defence I'm sure she only preforms Lap. type syrgery and most Doctors have that general limit. If I was told this on my call I would not have been offended.

Ok I have now meet with Dr. Pesta and he seems to be very knowlelgable and nice in general. All the Doctors in this service seem very good.
My first impression was he that he was very friendly and professional. He explained everything to me in a language anyone could understand. So far I have only seen him at my initial consultation. His office staff was very helpful and friendly And aftercare is very important to him. But being that I live so far away, I hope something can be worked out as far as the # of return trips.
He got straight to the point about the risks of surgery. We had a group discussion and he explained in great detail the proceedure and the possible side effects, including possible death from bleeding, etc. Well since I am still pre-op, I can't really rate him overall. But so far so good! I havn't seen or read anthing negative about him and being from Flint originally, I have heard only good things through the grapevine. I really believe that surgical competence is more important so that care is taken to make sure nothing goes wrong. However, a good bedside manner is also needed so that the least amount of stress is added to the recovery process. Besides, lets face it, we all want to be able to get along with and like our Dr's.
