Very sensitive to the challenges obese people face. He answered all of my questions and even let me play with all the instruments used during surgery. He is really rooting for us.
The staff was professional and competent.
Although i have never waited less than 40 min whenever I went to his office.
Dr. Hanks, who works in his ofice was on call at the hospital and was first notified of my condition. After several doctors came in my room asking me various health questions, yet not telling me anything, it was Dr. Hanks that came in sat on my bed and looked me in the eye and said i was having kidney failure, and i wasn't producing hemoglobin, and that my heart rate was dangerously high. I asked him what was next and he explained all the test I would have.
Dr. D'Almeida came to the hospital later that evening when i was still undergoing C.T scans to check on me.
i have only had one apt with him so far. But they do make sure you see a dietician and they stress WATER, WATER, WATER...

Dr Dabideen was terrific. I very much liked him from my first consultantion with him. He has a very wry sense of humor and very matter of fact. If I hadn't been so resolute and been through so much, I feel he would have been a great mentor for answering surgical questions, etc. As it was, I had already been through BTC before they stopped particiapting with BCBS.

Dr Dabideen was very accomadating to my situation and moved things along smoothly and quickly. He was brief in his bedside visits, his partner, Dr Obeid was spent more time, but all in all a great experience with this surgeon.

I am waiting to meet Dr. Bhesanina personally. I went to one of the Lap-Band presentations and he spoke there. He seems to be very well versed in lap surgery. I also checked out some of his credentials and he seems to be quite accomplished.

7/12/2003 I have been through all the pre-op "stuff" and am just waiting for my surgery on 7-22-03. I've only seen Dr. B once, but hopefully he's been out practicing up for my surgery!

7/25/03 Had surgery this past Tuesday. Everything went fine and Dr. Bhesania even "slipped me in" for a quick post-op visit before my 5 hour drive back up north. So far this has been a good experience.

Had my consultation on 6/5/03 and my first impression of him was that he was a little stiff. As we talked he became very relaxed and joked with my family. My husband and my three grown children were also there. Everyone was very interested. His office staff was very nice, welcoming, and helpful, lots of smiles. He talked to us, answered questions and had us all meet in another room with other patients so he could talk to everyone at once to explain the surgery. I liked that arrangement because maybe someone else would think of a question that we didn't. He was very explanatory and talked English, not Dr. talk. I was glad my daughter took notes so I could listen. Although when Dr. said no sex for 6 weeks....she wrote NO SEX...EVER. Even though I had researched it all he made it all come together. He explained the risks of surgery and some of the aftercare, dietitian, office help, and gave us phone numbers to call if we had any questions. I especially liked the part about having two Drs. there in surgery, One doing the surgery and one to assist, and they are both trauma Drs. I feel very safe for them to do the surgery. All in all I would give them a 9 out of 10....P.S my PCP, Dr Prasad, highly recommends them and I highly respect my PCP's opinion!

I was impressed with his knowledge of the procedure and how much he cautioned on the dangers. I also was very upset at first with him because he told my flat out that "my insurance would not pay". It was very discouraging after all the other road blocks I had hit to get where I was. The office staff is very wonderful, they love to talk and listen which is a great combination. Aftercare is very important and all of my doctors and staff have been very accesible for concerns and questions. I would recommend doctor Dabideen very highly.

Met the doc at a Liv-Lite Seminar. Was very helpful, stayed after to answer all questions.

The Liv-Lite office was going through several changes in locations and doctors so follow up wasn't what it should of been. However, the staff were extremely nice and helpful - I just think I caught them at a bad time.

Dr. Pesta was wonderful. He's very caring and really truly interested in his patients. Dr. Keith Marshall assisted in the surgery and also came to see me several times in the hospital. I would recommend either of them to anyone. Shelly, their office help is a sweetheart.

Dr. Dabideen is an excellent surgeon. He is also very busy, be prepared to wait when you have an appointment with him. I was a little disappointed with my aftercare, I was scheduled for my 1 year check up and his office staff called me the day of my check up to cancel my appointment. I never rescheduled and haven't gone back since, I feel they are extremely busy and somehow need to do a better job of scheduling so people don't have to wait so long to be seen by the doctor and the dietician. This is my personal experience, maybe others have had better luck. I still would go through it again, my life has changed drastically. My surgery was July 16, 2001

When I met Dr. Bhesenia for my consultation, I was a little disappointed that it was such a rush in/rush out type of atmosphere. I felt he was competent though.
His office staff is where I had the most problems. There is a coordinator that is very inaccessbile. I ended up having to repeat my concerns several times to several different people before actually getting to talk to her personally, and in the course of that, I was eroneously told that I was all set and ready for surgery, and then the day before surgery, I received a call saying that they had not received the approval from my insurance company. That was the worst part of this whole journey. It is like they don't realize that you have a family, a job, and other obligations that you are working around, and it is a major inconvenience, not to mention a major blow to have that light put out just like that. They rescheduled me for 2 weeks later, but at that point, I was totally deflated, and not ready, so I rescheduled. I had LB done on Good Friday, which was 4 weeks after my initial date and the rest is hopefully history. I will say that the time frame was quite speedy. Fromt he informational seminar through all the requirements and up until surgery was less than 4 months. I believe a conscious effort has been made to make this as expedicious as possible by both Dr. B and Port Huron Hospital.

11/26/02 Well I passed another milestone -- Met with my Surgeon during my Consultation. Waited almost 2 hours to get in to see him and then the Dietician wasn't there for her part - she'll called me soon. Dr. Dabideen said I was a candidate for surgery. The next step is for them to type up the request and mail it to the insurance company. Then ---- wait for an tentitive date. A month before that date I'll have a pre-surgery physical - if I pass I make the date permanent. If not, corrections/tests will be needed and a new date made. I was told all the problems that could go wrong - But the one that bothered me is IF when they open me up and find too many adhesions from past surgeries - they close me back up and that's it. DONE!! To get on the table and that to happen - very terrible!! I'll just have to pray. The staff seemed nice - it was just the wait - with a impatient Husband.
4/24/03 Dr. Dabideen and all his staff and other Dr.s - Obeid, Sorenson and Misasian took VERY good care of me. They are all so good!!My surgery is over 4 weeks ago - still tired but am improving.
