My first impression of Dr. Watson was that he was he was nice and friendly.

The minute i walked in his office I thought OH MY GOSH!!! I am in the wrong place. There were people lined up out into the hallway. There were people that had been waiting 4 hours to see Dr. Watson. I first ran across a woman in so much pain and griping I was ready to turn around and run. Then I remembered Dr. Watson does more than just WLS. ahhhh now maybe i would stick around.

The first appointment was very friendly but dry. I was given a booklet told what to expect like no gum chewing. All this by the nurse. The Dr Watson came in and discussed what i needed to have done before i scheduled my next appointment. This was a nutrition class, a physc evaluation, and cardiac clearance (due to CHF 2 yrs ago)

I will let you know more

Dr Watson was an excellant surgeon. My pre-op appointment were very informative and encouraging. Dr. Watson didn't feed me any false hopes for my weight loss. He was very matter-of-fact.
Bedside manner was mediocre at best. I am not impressed with his post-op care and will soon ask that my care be transferred to my local PCP.
I would definately use Dr. Watson again if I had it to do over again. I feel the textbook surgery was well worth the rest.

Dr. Watson came across as very concerned and compassionate about my needs. Bariatric surgery is what he and his partner (Dr. Hodge) specializes in and their office staff was wonderful. Dr. Watson took the time to discuss risks and benefits and answer all questions my husband and I had. Overall, I think he deserves an A+ all around.

1-16-03***I had an appt. with Dr. Watson's office on January 14 2003. I have had this appt. for over 3 months. I got there to find Dr. Watson on vacation/out of town, and Judy, a "trained assistant" to give me my first appointment. ~She is NOT the Surgeon!~ I am very upset that I had waited 3 months, took the day off from work so did my Husband so we could both meet Dr. Watson, and drove an hour to get there, And to meet with a lady who is not a MD, DR, PCP,or a NURSE._______________________________________________________ I am now 9 months out of having RNY. I have an incissional Hernia thats been bothering me lately so i went to see Dr. Watson about having surgery again and getting it fixed. I was not very happy to say the least when i left. I dont believe i will be going back. He talked to me like i was a child. I did not appreciate that in the least. He also did not examine me like i believe he should had. He mentioned that i needed to get this done, ASAP, and to my surprise his Office staff came in with a surgery date 2 months out. He had not a clue of really what i was to expect after the surgery or what HE would do durning the surgery!

~~~~~ Needless to say i left and went to Maryland to a Doctor who was refered to me by my OB-GYN from there. I used to live there so i defently value my Doctors there, they are the best. i will be getting my Hernia's (yes 2, not 1!) fixed, and i am going to try to get approved for a tummy tuck to have done at the same time. The surgeon there said it would help me in the long run for having incissional Hernia's return. I will be also getting a mesh screen put along my incission line. His office staff knew what they were doing, how to file insurance and how to get it paid for, the reason why WE pay for Insurance!
~~~~ For those of you who have to decide on a Doctor, i think Dr. Watson did a good job with doing my RNY. I researched this alot and looked for the best Doctor i could find here in TN. I just think that he needs a new staff, new nurse, new attitude..., need i say more!

Look around, there is more Doctors coming into this area to do this kind of surgery. find one you trust, who knows how to Bill your insurance, who listen's to you, and knows what he/she is going to do with you.
i thought he was good for doing what he did, i believe God sent him to me for that surgery. Now it is time for me to move on and find someone who is best for what i need at this moment.

Good Luck with you on your Journey in finding a Great Doctor! Don't Settle for nothing Less!

I have seen Dr. Watson twice. He has been so kind. He really takes the time to make sure you understand what you are getting into. He even gives you a test. The office staff is very busy. They are pretty understanding throughout all my phone calls. The only thing about going to the office that I would say is a negative thing is the wait. But if you know there is going to be one then you are prepared. I think if you do your research and know the process that Dr. Watson can lead you through. I am going to have my surgery on December 22, 2003 so I will tell you more later.
