Dr Holloway is a very caring and understanding man. Dr H had to have written the best letter ever, I was approved 3 weeks later by my insurance. His staff is excellent!

I felt really comfortable with Dr. Holloway right from the beginning. Our first meeting was very casual and friendly. He helped me to feel very relaxed when speaking about such and incredibly personal thing. He ask me a lot of questions about what my expectations were, how willing I was to make this life altering change and just how much I knew about the procedure. After we had established all of these things he explained all of my options and assessed in his opinion which course of action was the correct one to take. He and his staff are very thorough, kind and helpful. They were all very helpful in discussing very openly the pros and cons to having this surgery. I was presented with a great deal of information and they ask that i take it home and absorb it all before making any final decisions. Once I had made the decision to go ahead, the process with expedited and I had a surgery date within 10 days of consult. The days that followed were not so pleasant with having to go over and over again every detail with the many different people involved in the procedure. I did not enjoy being weighed 6 times in one day, not did i enjoy the psychological evaluation. But would i do it all again? Absolutely.

I have received a lot of support from the staff that work with Dr. Holloway to prepare me for the aftereffects of the surgery. I now have at my disposal a dietician, a physical therapist, a psychiatrist and a physician's assistant as well as a multitude of nurses that can be contacted at any time with questions and concerns. Patient aftercare is a huge condition the patient must be willing to take on personally in order for this surgery to work and this is emphasized and practiced at this office. I was given instruction not only on how to change my diet but also the way that I excercise to help promote weight loss as well as overall conditioning. They also believe at this office, that mental well being is of the greatest importance. Not only will our bodies be changing but out entire outlook on life as well as the way that others interact with us. I believe that I was given every morsel of information available and I cant say enough about how kind and generous the staff is at this facility.

As far as which is better bedside manner vs. competence? Well I will take a knowledgeable and professional surgeon any day over a nice guy. But in this case I believe that I have found both. I would recommend this staff to anyone out there considering this procedure. The only downside to this office is the location, but if you dont mind a LONG drive through some lovely countryside then this is a good choice.

Very friendly, I was told by my shrink that he was not very talkative. But I found him to be very personable.
His staff was very nice, my referring doc forgot to write his letter, but they didn't get all worked up over it or added any pressure on me.
I really can't find anything that I don't like about the doc yet.
He is young and is on the cutting edge of the newiest procedures coming out. He is well informed and is continually learning.
He emphasized everything I think, all things are important. We have more to discuss as he hools me up with his dietitian and things.
He addressed all the risks and benefits of all the different types of surgeries.
I would rate this doc a A.

June 29- I had my last appointment with Dr. Holloway before surgery. He was very nice and my husband was able to meet him and liked him. He tried pushing this new LAP BAND, but I don;t think it is for me and he let it go.
He wanted me to watch this video on the surgery, but I had an unexpected appointment with the physical therapist so we couldn't view it. Doc didn't take too long this time, just wanted to make sure this is what I wanted and gave me the perscription for the stool softener (YUCK) and he was on his way.
His office is in a transition of changing some things on how they handle patients and such, and it seems that I have been caught right in the beginning of some of that so there has been some confusion. But they handled it well.
