Jeffrey Holloway, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center

I was put in ICU after the second surgery to remove my band. I had my band in me for 4 days than had to pay to remove it because of Dr Holloway mistake in surgery. You did a bang up job on me Doctor. Thanks for nothing but bills and bad memorys.

At first Dr. Holloway seemed SO caring. But as I've been working with him for quite awhile now, it seems that I am just one of his many cattle that pass through his clinic door. He doesn't seem to have enough time to listen to me. Several times I didn't even get to see him - only his "holier-than-thou" nurse who also doesn't seem to have time for me.
I had a very painful port site and complained to both the nurse and the doctor. Neither did anything about it. It finally got SO bad, I saw a different doctor. I ended up in emergency surgery because of a large abscess on the port.
He seems like a nice guy, but the more I've been around him, the more I feel he cares more about the money than the patient.
I will continue to see him because I have weight to lose. I hope I can get the help I need.

My first impression of Dr. Holloway is a very capable caring surgeon. Over time I have come to realize that money is a big part of why Dr. H. does these surgeries. His office staff in Scottsbluff can be very rude and dismissive. Maybe Dr. H doesn't realize this. He does not have a structured aftercare program, you go see him once a month or less often if your doing ok. I guess my main complaint isn't Dr. H himself but his aftercare program:( He is a great surgeon yet one of my friends had the band and complained of pain for sometime before he said it was the port going bad. He took her port out and replaced it 4 months later. What was actually happening is that her band was eroding into her stomach. She got very sick and another surgeon took the band out. I haven't had those complications, but my espopaghus was dilated I found out yesterday when I went to another surgeon. Dr. H is not responsible for this as I hadn't been back for over 6 months and I had been having problems. I didn't want a long drawn out process of getting something done in Scottsbluff so I switched surgeons. The thing I like least about Dr. H is his aftercare program. Sorry Dr. H but I have switched surgeons.

I was impressed with Dr. Holloway. He is a kind and compassionate person. The office staff is great. It was inconvenient waiting a long time for a fill but it is better now. Future patients should know that Dr. Holloway is a dedicated surgeon. He is dedicated to helping bariatric patients feel better and to help patients become as healthy as they can be. He does emphasize aftercare and makes phone calls to patients that have not come to see him after bariatric surgery. He has a support group which he encourages all his patients to attend. He had an informational seminar and explained in detail what the surgery entails and the risks involved. I would rate him a top bariatric surgeon. We are lucky to have him in our area. He has done hundreds of bariatric surgery and has the experience and compassion a bariatric surgeon should have. Both competence and bedside manner are important. Patients will tell their friends how they were treated by the surgeon. It can make or break a program.

My surgeon is a wonderful man. He is very passionate about WLS. He is the first medical provider that didn't make me feel ashamed and embarrassed about my weight. He has been very positive and enthusiastic about my surgery and success so far. He is very emphatic about aftercare, \"it is essential for you to be successful with the lap-band\". He is very thorough in explaining all risks and benefits of the surgery and alternatives. Dr. Holloway takes the time to answer your questions and make sure you understand his comments. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Holloway to anybody considering WLS. HE IS AWESOME!!!!rnThe one thing that I did have trouble with was getting my surgery scheduled. I had insurance approval and completed all required evals, but the coordinator didn't complete her portion in a timely manner so that the surgery could be scheduled. Several telephone calls and not taking \"we will call you back\" for an answer later, I did get my surgery scheduled.

Dr.Holloway is a amazing man. He makes you feel very uplifted when you first lay eyes on him during a visit. His staff are all very nice and helpful willing to do what they can to help you with any problems you may have. I can't say there is anything i dislike about him. He is very personable. He wants to take care of you before and after the surgery rather then having you at a different hospital. He has planned aftercare visits unless you run into problems and then he sees you as you need him. He lets you know the things you need to do to best recover and have a sucessful tool ( the surgery) to weight loss and an new healthy life. I can honestly say i could not see having any other doctor do the surgery Dr. Holloway made my already good experiance so much better.

An amazing man. Very upbeat, very professional. Forthcoming about the downsides. Office staff was okay, just seemed to take a long time to get scheduled--would like to see staff move through the process a little quicker. Aftercare is critical. He does not treat you like a bypass patient when you have had the band.

Dr Holloway is the greatest. I absolutely love him for he is so encouraging and really cares about how I am doing. He is great about helpful hints and solutions. His surgical competence is so good that I even traveled all the way across the state of Nebraska to have another surgery, for the band would have had to be deflated and moved at the same time, and Dr Holloway is so knowledgeable about the band. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a surgeon to contact Dr Holloway. He helped me lose 207 lbs.
