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

Dr. R. is very kind and understanding and was very informative - his staff is as well. They made me feel very comfortable and at ease. His aftercare program is very structured, but he leaves it in your hands. I've only had one problem (muscle pull) and he was attentive and very informational. If I had to do it again, I would not hesitate and would definately go to him again - and I'm one to HATE Doctors!

He was very helpful & information was given that I was very anxious to have the surgery. The nursing staff is very helpful & helped alot with insurance information that I could get approved & not have to do alot of running around for information at the wrong time, I could do it at the beginning & get approved quickly. My impression didn't change when I meet them,I still think they are great. He talked about after surgery care, about take time to heal & try not to lay around after surgery but to get right up so the healing process can take place quicker. They said that everyone recovery is different & surgery danger is dangerous as any other surgery you may have.Beside manners is best to me.

Dr. Rohrscheib and his staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable. The Dr. took the time to answer all my questions. He fully explained the surgery, the risks, and the benefits.

Dr. Rohrscheib's staff took care of all my paperwork, and it went more smoothly than I anticipated. So far, I am thoroughly impressed with the doctor and his entire office.

Very nice and caring man. Explained everything very well. Took time to answer my questions as well as any my husband had. Only made me realize more so, that this is the surgeon and surgery for me!!

After some checking, I changed from Dr. Charles in Decatur simply because he's performed so few of this type of surgery. I was directed to Dr. R. and met with him about two weeks ago. I was impressed with his staff and his knowledge of the subject. Today I looked him up on this site and was very impressed with the number of good comments about him, so now I am resting a little easier. All paperwork has been submitted and should know in a week or two whether I am approved.

I really liked Dr. Rohrscheib from the get-go. He came in the room and explained in detail to me and my husband what the surgery consisted of and how it would make the pain in my back and knees be relieved alot within the first 6 weeks after surgery. His staff was also very nice and helpful with insurance stuff.

Crista is very informative and has a very good approach with patients. I like her and feel like she has really helped me to understand how to feed my new tummy

Dr Rohrscheib seemed very nice straight to the point,and lets you know what to expect. His office is located in a small town in IL the staff are EXCELLANT! very nice and understanding & very helpfull. They took care of all my insurance information, all I did was meet with the dr once and the next time I see him It will be for surgery.The Dr. stated many times that I would have to be in this for the long hall keeping up with my aftercare visits.
