I am very proud to have Dr. Hodges as my doctor. I feel he is a very skilled surgeon. I not only had the gastric bypass, but a massive paraesophegeal hernia (which means my stomach had moved up into my chest and my stomach was twisted) repair done.
He did both surgeries at the same time, by lap.

Dr. Hodges requested that my husband be included in this journey. I'm glad that Dr. Hodges and his staff feel this way, because my husband will be very important in helping me to succeed. It took us a while to be seen because he is so busy, but, Dr. Hodges is one of the few doctors I have met that take the time to talk with his patients.
I was embarassd by my short stature and excessive weight. I have difficulty with my mobility and was very clumsey. He was not condensending. He seemed to have more understanding of my condition than I was aware of myself.
Having worked as an LPN for years, I was greatly empressed with him. He made me feel that he really cared.
Dr.Hodges has a notebook that has all the information that he covers at the initial appointment.
He discussed the risks and possible complications, which by the way are a lot lower than I thought.
Dr. Hodges emphasized after care, that would not be have the surgery and it's over.
My personal impression is that I trust him, and I feel he knows what he is doing. I think I will have a good relationship with him and his staff.
My first impression of Dr. Hodges was a good one, he seemed to be generally concerned & focused on the issue at hand. He is personal, but yet business, all rolled into one.
Dr. Hodges miracle staff of "one", BELINDA, is superb at what she does! Belinda is the "main man" in that office, she does all the insurance footwork - and that is a very cumbersome task! She has called me many times throughout the insurance pre-approval process, without complaint. She does all scheduling for you too, and above all, she's got a super great personality. Kudos to Belinda, she's a 5-Star asset to Dr. Hodges if you ask me.
He is young and probably up on the latestes procedures. Has not changed. Staff is warm and friendly and very prompt when returning calls. Can't say there is anything I don't like about him. You will get an honest review of the surgery and the complications that can happen. Can not stress enough about the after care,nutrition and the over all use of this surgery as a tool.Yes at the first consultation. Excellent. Can't compare one to the other surpurb in both areas.
Dr Hodges is a very kind compassionate man. One of the things that struck me was all the personnal pictures of his family! Makes him far more appoachable. His staff is awesone.. thanks Belinda for all your help!
Dr. Hodges was reccomended to me by 3 people, all of whom were very impressed with him. I believe he has done over 200 to date (Sept 3,02)
My first impression of him is he seems very young and that he and his office staff seem very over worked.
He did take a lot of time with me to go over everything in detail and explain all the risks and about the procedure.
I like him and the staff but it is kind of frustrating when you have a question its hard to get throught to his nurse because she is so busy. I know this isn't her fault though.
Dr. Hodges was very informative the first time I met him. However, very young but I look at it as he has more knowledge and more up to date on the newest technology being so young. Very nice through the whole process and really made you relax. Came in and met my family before they took me down to surgery I and my family was very impressed with that.
I have met with Dr.Hodges. I think that he is a very caring doctor. Dr.Hodges concerns are for the patients. His staff is wonderful, they do not make you feel ashamed of your weight. I spent about an hour and a half in his office, talking to him. I took my Mother with me, she had alot of questions and concerns. She(Mom) feels that Dr.Hodges is a wonderful and caring person. I work for Doctors and what i look for in a doctor is eye contactm, Dr. Hodges has that, he looked at me not down on me!
My first impression of Dr. Hodges was that he is very young. At my initial consultation, he took a lot of time explaining to my husband and me all about the surgery. I have confidence in Dr. Hodges and feel he's the right doctor to do this surgery for me. He has set up a support group for his pre-op and post-op patients. He is supportive of using protein shakes after surgery.
